Personalized care for your dog or cat - Vanderbilt

Highly-rated overnight sitters - Vanderbilt
“We've never seen our dog so happy as he was with Ashley, her husband, and her three adorable children, who doted on him. This city dog got to run around and experience farm life without a harness, and when i picked him up he had the biggest smile on his face. Ashley is wonderful, with great responsiveness and communication, sending regular photos and updates. As i was pulling out, one of her sons yelled from a swing in the backyard: "When will Blaze be back?" So cute!”

“Hunter did a great job caring for our multiple pets these past 5 days! He immediately connected with all 3 of our dogs upon meeting them. He is kind, reliable, super helpful and kept in touch throughout our time away. Very thankful to Hunter for keeping them safe, happy and healthy.”

“Margalina, Joshua and their daughter were wonderful caretakers of our maltipoo for two weeks. I got adorable photos every day and regular communication about all the fun he was having becoming a farm dog (lots of great exercise). This was a last minute booking but we could not have been luckier. Our dog is a very social one but also clingy to his main caretaker, and Margalina quickly because that person! We will definitely use them again and can’t recommend them highly enough.”

About: Hi! My name is Marissa, I’m 29 years old, and I’ve been an animal lover for as long as I can remember. I’m caring, dependable, patient, and attentive, and I understand just how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with a member of your family. I recently completed my Associate of Arts in Psychology, which has been an important personal accomplishment for me. While my education has focused on people, patience, communication, understanding behavior, and paying attention to individual needs are qualities I also bring into the way I care for animals. I have around 20 years of personal experience caring for dogs and more than five years of experience helping care for other people’s pets. Over the years, friends, family, neighbors, and Rover clients have trusted me to walk, feed, bathe, play with, supervise, and care for their animals. Having cared for dogs with different breeds, sizes, personalities, energy levels, and needs has taught me that every dog is an individual. Some want to spend their time playing and exploring, while others would happily curl up beside you all day. Some warm up immediately, while anxious or shy dogs may need extra patience and space to become comfortable. I believe in getting to know the animal in front of me rather than expecting every pet to respond the same way. I also have a dog of my own, Flicka, so I understand the other side of pet care too. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with another person and how reassuring it can be to know they’re safe, comfortable, and receiving plenty of attention. I’m interested in continuing to expand my knowledge of animal care, including completing pet CPR and first-aid training. I would also eventually like to further my education in areas such as grooming and dog behavior and training. Most importantly, when your pet is with me, I want them to be treated with the same patience, affection, attention, and respect that I would want someone to give my own dog. 🐾 Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine, and I currently have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to the animals in my care. I am available for dog walking, drop-in visits, doggy daycare, and boarding throughout the week, including many mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Because my schedule is flexible, I can often accommodate different routines, whether your pet needs an early morning potty break, midday walk, afternoon playtime, evening visit, or more consistent care throughout the day. I do my best to maintain each pet’s normal feeding, exercise, potty, medication, and sleep schedule so their routine is disrupted as little as possible while you’re away. I also have my own dog, Flicka, so caring for animals is already a part of my everyday life! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow all instructions you provide regarding feeding, medications, potty routines, walks, behavioral needs, household rules, and anything else that helps your pet feel comfortable and secure. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect both your home and your pet’s established routine. I make sure doors, gates, leashes, harnesses, and other safety measures are secure, and I never assume that every animal has the same needs or comfort level. For pets staying in my home, I have my own dog, Flicka. Because every dog has a different personality, I want to make sure everyone will be comfortable together before an extended stay. Introductions and meet-and-greets are very important to me. I’m also happy to provide regular updates and photos while your pet is in my care. I know how reassuring it is to see that your pet is safe, happy, and being well cared for while you’re away.
“Kendra was fantastic and Coco Bear had a great visit. Everything was very professional and organized and Kendra was a great communicator. Could not ask for a better experience. Thanks Kendra!”

“Randy and his wife were great hosts! They kept in contact with us sending us pictures and letting us know how our dog was! They kept us informed during a scary situation when our dog had an unexpected health incident. He was well taken care of and spoiled with all the cuddles!”
“Kathleen was amazing with our dog! She took her on a last minute booking request and responded to it very quickly. She sent pictures and updates throughout the day while she was caring for our dog. Our dog came back happy and tired and we can tell she was well cared for! We are very happy with her service and will book again if we’re in the area”
“Princess absolutely had a great time & loved the special attention to her needs. Highly recommend& will definitely book again when we’re back in the area! Thanks for caring for our special girl!”

“Emily really came through! She braved the terrible weather and roads to make sure my pets were taken care of! There was even a hang up with my front door, totally my fault, that she handled beautifully. Communication was excellent, very quick to respond and helpful with any questions and concerns I had. I will definitely use Emily again.”

“Harper (a cat) is very shy and tends to hide from everyone. I adopted her about six months ago, knowing she needed special considerations, so having someone new in the house was potentially traumatic for her. Eric patiently cared for her while I was traveling and overcame her spooky tendencies. He has cared for my pets for several years and befriended a couple of difficult characters.”

“Rebecca took excellent care of our cat while we were out of the country. She provided frequent updates and photos, while spending time at the house with her. She even cleared a very slight time change with us before coming early one evening. We are so happy to have found Rebecca and will definitely use her again!”

Perfect for high energy dogs - Vanderbilt

About: Hey guys! I'm just a Midwest girl living in my Midwest world! I have the typical Veteran husband and one of our three kids still living at home! We have a 7 pound Chihuahua and two kittens who are the current rulers of the home. I bring a professional, hands-on background to every dog I care for, shaped by my experience, work in the military and training dogs across a wide range of needs. From guiding young puppies through early obedience and socialization to reinforcing structure and confidence in adult dogs, I focus on calm, consistent, and respectful handling. My approach blends proven training principles with genuine affection—clear communication, routine, and trust, paired with plenty of attention and care. On our private 20-acre property, dogs have the space to decompress, explore safely, and enjoy a peaceful environment while still receiving individualized guidance and close supervision. While we do have 20 acres that we can walk through we also have a fenced in area and GPS Fence collars for your dog to use. Depending on the training your dog has been through we can work with you to see what fits best. I am a full time mom who homeschools her kid. My husband is home part time so most of the time we are home if not pup will be crated. I have a fenced in yard and a pet safe GPS collar for the pups. So no matter what the pup will be secured. There is no gate to leave the fenced in area so to leave you have to go through the house.
“Wonderful family! So welcoming, attentive and kind to our Chevy girl! Lots of video and photo coverage of her day with them along with so much play time and walks at the park. Chevy got along so well with Marley too, which was so lovely. Will 100% use them in the future for our day care needs!”

“Randy took really great care of my girl Cocoa. I received lots of updates and pics during the day to let me know that she was okay and having a good time with his pups. Definitely recommend Randy if you are looking for dog care in the area.”

My 8 year old son and I would be the ones caring for your fur babies. My son helps me with the feeding and watering, as well as the litter box and backyard landmines. He gives the animals lots of love and cuddles. I work a lot during the week, but I would be available for any dog walking or drop-in visits before or after work during the week, depending on what we have going on that week. If you're looking for a getaway for a couple of nights, I'm available Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays. We have a house with 4 acres of unfenced property. Any dogs that are boarded here will be walked on the property regularly for bathroom breaks and exercise. We also have a lot of trails nearby that we could walk if the weather is decent. If your dog is friendly and social, we aren't too far from Gaylord, where there is a dog park. That way, they can get some serious running in!
