“Shadow and his family give Merissa five out of five paws! If you are looking for someone to spend less than two minutes with your pet, Merissa may not be the person for you. She stopped by roughly 30 minutes during each visit and made sure that Shadow wasn't lonely while we were on vacation. She sent multiple pictures to us every time she stopped over, even if he wasn't interested in having his picture taken. Most importantly to us, she didn't give up on him. The first couple days, he was somewhat apprehensive with someone new looking after him -- he didn't want to eat much or play (which is unlike him). On Day 3, Merissa was able to finally get him out of his funk and act like his playful self (as supported by pictures). Someone else may have just decided to not put in the effort and let our sleepy dog lie, but that wasn't the case with her! So, by all means, don't pick Merissa unless your pet is ready to have someone play with him or her while you are gone. If you want your pet to feel lonely, don't pick her, because she will make sure that your pet gets a lot of attention. And definitely don't pick her, if your pet is camera shy, because you will never have to wonder for too long how your pet is doing. However, if you want to make sure that your pet is cared for while you are away, you should consider booking her right away. Again, Shadow rates her five out of five paws and that is what really matters!”

About: I've been around and have helped care for dogs and cats all shapes and sizes. Each one I've personally owned are a part of the family! I would take care of your fur baby like I'd want mine taken care of. I am a homeschooling mom which means your fur baby will be kept company while in my care. During the school year, on Saturdays, we sometimes will have sporting events to go to, as well as some week nights we will go to extracurricular practices but never gone for long! I currently have Midland's rail trail right in my back yard for nice walks if that's something you would like done. When we move in March we will have a large open park right in our backyard! Handling Aggressive or Special Needs Pets I have extensive experience with fearful, reactive, and aggressive pets, but clear and honest communication is essential: Cats: I am comfortable handling feral or aggressive cats and will take the necessary time to build trust. I can administer medication as needed, but I require full transparency about their behavior to ensure safety for all. Dogs: I can accommodate dogs with minor behavioral challenges, such as leash reactivity or mild anxiety. However, for safety reasons, I cannot accept: Dogs over 50 lbs who are not at least moderately leash-trained. Dogs requiring a muzzle or choke collar in public settings. Dogs with severe aggression or unpredictable behavior. Double-Booking Policy For the safety and well-being of all pets, I do not double-book boarding, daycare, or walks unless all parties have given consent and a meet-and-greet has taken place. If multiple dogs are staying in my home at the same time, a meet-and-greet is required. Even if the dogs get along, they will not be left alone together unless securely crated. Cats and dogs boarding in my home simultaneously will be kept in separate areas with no contact.
About: My Husband and I have had pets in our family since we both could walk. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats ourselves that are treated better than many humans. We understand the struggle of finding the right fit for your babies when you need to travel and are happy to provide as many updates and pictures as needed to make sure you are comfortable with their care. For Puppies, we both have gone through the puppy phase a few times and understand their needs and chaotic tendencies. All of our animals are up to date on their shots. About: When I have been a sitter in the past I was in charge of admitting medication few times a day. Feed dogs separates if they had special feedings. I also did overnight stays up to 5 days. I also walked the dogs a couple times a day. I also have watched up to four dogs at a time. I currently very open at this point in time. My availability will be everyday from 10am on to10 p.m. and every weekend I am also available, but my hours are more flexible. A family-friendly pet environment. About: I've worked with animals off all kinds, ages, sizes, and requirements since I was 10. Everyone i know comes to me for pet help/care. I take a special intrest in training. I currently have a border collie mix who i practice sports such as agility and bikjoring. She also love trick training and obedience training. I was in a vet course in high school for two years so I've got plenty of experience with all sizes and species of animals. There i learn how to give oral medication, signs of parasites/disease, dog body language and the importance of mental & physical stimulation that sent me on my way to being a dog nerd. My job has me working weekends during the slow season and being an active person I need something to fill my off time. So I have Monday- Thursday to work with your schedule. I have worked with reactive animals as well as own one so im exceptional at dog body language and i focus on making a dogs walk/Visit as stress-free as possible. My experience with reactive dogs helps me stay patient and calm in stressful situations.
About: I have been dog and cat sitting for over 10 years for different neighbors! I myself have chickens and a cat right now but I have had fish, dogs, and bunnies also! Currently in PA school on rotations and have lots of free time in between shifts and classes so I can be available whenever it is all just kind of random! We understand the struggle of finding the right fit for your babies when you need to travel and are happy to provide as many updates and pictures as needed to make sure you are comfortable with their care. For Puppies, we both have gone through the puppy phase a few times and understand their needs and chaotic tendencies. All of our animals are up to date on their shots. As a bonus, we both work from home, so your pets will get constant love and attention. I make sure to visit the home prior so I can meet and greet the family and the dog and learn their routine and where any supplies are that I may need. I make sure I can fit in some play/exercise time (whether the yard is fenced in, or we have to use a leash). I make sure to keep the environment clean and safe at all times and do regular check-ins. In my own home I provide the same service. I want you to be comfortable with where your dog will be visiting and know the environment they will be in, prior to staying. I make sure my house is always picked up and that there is minimal possibility of safety issues. My yard is fenced in, and I live by a nice park that is dog friendly. At home I enjoy playing/exercising indoors and out and making enrichment bowls. Health is key!

About: Hi! I am new to Rover, but caring for dogs is something my family truly loves. I have a friendly golden retriever named Stanley who absolutely thrives when he has other dogs to play with—so hosting furry friends is a joy for all of us! I work from home most days, which means your pup will get plenty of attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. My young kids also love having dogs around and are gentle, playful, and used to being around animals. I also have a cat in our home who is very comfortable around dogs—she and Stanley are great friends—so your pup should be cat-friendly or at least respectful of cats. I have a fully fenced-in yard for safe outdoor playtime, and I treat every dog that stays with us like part of the family. Whether your dog loves to play or just relax, I will make sure they feel comfortable, loved, and right at home.
