Even more impressive was how well Laura handled a behavioral problem that arose with one of our dogs. I had forgotten that he once had this problem with us -six years ago when we got him - and when it popped up again, Laura dealt with it so well! Back in May, as a first-time user of Rover, I created 3 separate bookings with a sitter who had glowing reviews. However, on the day of our meet & greet—only 1 week before our first trip—she completely ghosted us. I nearly panicked because I didn’t think we’d be able to find an available sitter on such short notice. I hopped back on Rover, entered my dates, filtered by Star Sitters, and hit “search.” Red was at the top of my search results, and after looking over her profile, I felt like she may be a good choice. Although her calendar showed her as available for the dates of our trip, I was prepared to be let down. I sent her a message explaining our situation. Not only did she respond quickly, she also responded with kindness & empathy. Best of all, she was available to sit for our beloved kitty! AND she volunteered to come over the next morning for a meet & greet! Less than 24 hours after reaching out to her, Red messaged me to let me know she was on her way to my house. This was unprecedented, and we were absolutely shocked. Sassy’s response to meeting Red left no doubts in our mind; we had chosen the perfect caretaker for our precious kitty. We booked Red for two of our three camping trips. This review is based on our second booking with her, and we couldn’t be more pleased with her! She is the sweetest person! And an excellent communicator, which is vital for us anxious pet parents who are forced to leave our beloved (and vulnerable!) pets home alone. I had no qualms leaving Sassy alone this second time because I knew that Red would take excellent care of her…and she absolutely has! I am so sad that Red is not available for our third trip, but if she’s available next summer, you can bet I will be booking her!”

About: We adopted a dog 9 years ago and she was one the best things that had ever happened to us, she was our fur baby and we took her to our trips (she was a frequent flyer). She recently crossed the rainbow bridge at 17 and even though we are not ready to adopt another dog, we would absolutely love to take care of your dog. Our daughter loves dogs and it would make her really happy to have a dog in our home at least for a few days. We would take care of your dog as it was our own, we've taken care of a friend's dog and we loved every minute of it. Having a 17 year old dog we have extensive experience with senior dogs and special needs (our dog had a spinal operation and lived three years after it). I work from home four days a week and have flexibility as to when I can go in. My wife and daughter are at school and work five days a week. We have a large fenced yard and do not currently have any pets. We live in a ranch so we only have one step and a door that shuts off access to the basement if you're worried about your pet using steps. We will treat your dog as if it's our own and it is allowed on the furniture if you're okay with it.

About: I’ve done a lot of puppy raising and training. I have had 6 labs that I have raised and trained from 6 weeks old on. I also have experience with senior dogs, giving medication and helping them to get around and be comfortable. I would love to watch your new puppy while you are away for the day or longer. I can help with basic training socialization. I am occasionally subbing for special education at a school at the corner of my street. If I happen to get called into sub I am able to come home at lunch only leaving the dogs for a few hours at a time. I have a 5 year old yellow Labrador that is very friendly and gets along very well with other dogs. I have a spacious, fully fenced yard—and a built-in companion! About: I have had cats most of my life. I know all about personalities! I know that pets need loving, especially when you are away. I had a cat that stopped eating once when I was on vacation and that ended up with a trip to the ER Vet. Needless to say, I know how imporant a good pet sitter is to keep your pet from feeling lonely. They need cuddles and play time. Of course, that goes along with the daily tasks of feeding, emptying the litter, walks, etc. I am a retired teacher. After teaching, I was my husband's caregiver while he battled cancer. I lost him a few months ago and now find myself lonely and looking for something to do. About: I’ve had pets my whole life. Mainly little dogs such as shih tzus and maltese. But I’ve also pet sat my grandparents dogs and they have a golden doodle who is 5 and a ausie doodle who is 8 months old. I also have two cats. I take good care of them, make sure they are fed, played with,& have exercise. I guarantee you I’ll take good care of your fluffy babies. I’ll also make sure they don’t get out and run away because that has happened to my dog with a sitter on rover last year, and she was missing for 5 days. So I wouldn’t put that hurt on you because it killed me and my mom. I love animals and would never hurt them either. Working on finish fencing in my back yard for the ability to leave dogs outside for longer periods. They will always be supervised and will get a lot of running in while being over!

“Laura and Joe took care of our two older dogs for a week while we drove a couple of hours to have a vacation. We knew from our visit with them that Laura would be caring and attentive, but she really did go above and beyond! We received multiple updates and photos and videos daily. Even more impressive was how well Laura handled a behavioral problem that arose with one of our dogs. I had forgotten that he once had this problem with us -six years ago when we got him - and when it popped up again, Laura dealt with it so well! She even purchased something that we thought would help, after messaging with me about the issue. Laura’s care and confidence saved our vacation, when a less experienced sitter might have asked us to return and pick up our dog. The problem resolved and our dogs had a wonderful stay with Laura and Joe. We have always used a kennel in the past. It is a small one and the dogs are out playing much of the day. Last time, things did not go well there for our 13 year-old dog. We tried Rover to find someone who would provide both a safe setting and special care for our dogs. We got this with Laura, for sure!”
