About: I've cared for both healthy cats and cats with underlying conditions. For 10 years I had a cat that was diabetic that I had to administer insulin to. My current cat is 15 and requires a lot of love and attention.My cat Mabel is a rescued kitten/ cat almost 16 years ago on Halloween night while coming home from work , about 4 cars ahead of me something went flying out the window . I was able to stop and pull over due to not having other cars behind me . It was very cold that night and the sun was just starting to set . I got out of my car and looked around for a few minutes but didn't see anything and I got ready to leave I hear faint cry and I turned and looked down into some tall weeds and there she was , this poor malnourished kitten crying for help . To make a long story short I got her home and the day my wife and I took her to vet . They kept her for 3 days running ivs into her . We able to come and after 3 days thinking she wasn't going make it. And here she is still with after such a traumatic start to her life . I am very grateful to have Mabel as my best friend and wouldn't trade for the world . I love you very much Mabel .

About: Lifetime pet owners of cats and dogs alike, Maeve and Jason have shared decades of pet-sitting duties for friends and family and all that entails from crate training to medication administration. We have flexible schedules, reliable transportation with dog seatbelts, a large wrap around fully fenced-in yard, and several forested acres with private nature trails to share with your best friend. Maeve is a WFH graphic designer and Jason is a self-employed carpenter living with our two sweet velcro cavalier king charles spaniels — Cricket & Disco. We have very flexible schedules with lots of love and attention to spare. We can easily break away for walks and drop-ins. We live across from Eagle Lake with a large wraparound fully fenced-in yard overlooking 15 private forested acres with trails for leashed nature walks. We have oodles of experience walking, camping, hiking, swimming, and playing with dogs in all environments and elements. Crates and gates are available if your best friend needs their space, but everybody is allowed to make themselves at home. We have lots of cozy nooks and beds. We work to ensure smooth introductions. Our home is very dog-friendly but to that end, kept very clean. We do tick checks and our girls are always up to date with their vaccinations and preventative meds. JIC, we have reliable transportation and are not far from Michiana Veterinary Hospital. We are also able to drive to your preferred vet.

About: I’m an attorney and moved to Granger recently. I have been on Rover for a few years (previously in Chicago and Colorado). I live in an apartment set up specifically with cats in mind — window perches, a self-cleaning litter box, and a wall-mounted cat jungle gym with climbing shelves and hideaways. My own cat Milo also enjoys supervised leash walks outside, so I'm comfortable and experienced with that if your cat is leash-trained too. Your pet's safety and comfort always come first, whether that means sticking closely to their routine or just giving them space to settle in. While cats are my specialty, I also have real dog experience — I've taken dogs outside to play in open spaces, and I know how to walk them confidently and keep them engaged. I once house-sat for a neighbor for a full week, caring for 4 dogs and 3 cats together. I'm also not afraid to set boundaries when needed, so your dog gets both playtime and structure.

I have three dogs of my own aged 6, 5, and 4, so I know how important it is to have someone trustworthy and caring to watch your pets when needed! I have watched dogs ranging from full grown german shepherds to small puppies. I first volunteeed at my local animal shelter, Pet Refuge, six years ago and discovered my passion for animals! I have experience with caring for numerous sizes, ages, and breeds of dogs through both my past volunteer experience and my work here through Rover over the past 5 years. These dogs include pit bulls, golden retrievers, australian shepherds, huskies, poodles and doodles, labs, chihuahuas, beagles, bulldogs, terriers, and many mixes in between. I am currently pet-sitting part-time while also being a full-time IUSB college student studying elementary education! I am so passionate and appreciate all of my current and past pet parents so much for allowing me to take care of their pets! My schedule is generally open according to my posted availability with the majority of my availability being evenings and weekends. However, I am able to make drop ins work with my schedule the majority of the time. I would love to hear from you! I try to be super flexible! As I previously stated, I have a few pets of my own, so I know how important it is to find someone trustworthy and honest. Communication is key for my care and I am always updating, asking questions, and communicating with the parent while I care for their pet. Who doesn’t love lots of updates? I go with your pets pace, so if it’s a puppy full of energy we’ll be sure to play a lot - but if you have a senior who likes to relax, we will! Having a dog such as mine has made me more comfortable in my dog caring skills and fairly knowledgeable about what needs dogs have. I’m also very well equipped to handle puppies as I recently got a cocker spaniel several months ago. But given that, my passion for dogs continues to grow. I now as an independent adult have 2 dogs who I’ve had the pleasure of raising as puppies to where they are at now. I work full time but like to stay active and adding furry friends to the mix on my days off is no big task. I would love to see more dog friends and help them socialize and make someone’s life easier. I don’t have a fenced in back yard, but I am capable of taking dogs on as many walks as needed.
