About: Since becoming fully remote for my full time job in 2020, I have taken on the roll of “trusted pet-sitter” for over 30 families and almost 50 furry friends. Back home in Maryland, I connected with these families just through word-of-mouth and referrals from happy families. Now that I live here in Maine, I would like to continue my expertise and passion for animals, and connect with some loveable furry friends. About: I absolutely adore animals. I recently got my masters degree in natural resources and am now working for the state in Augusta. I grew up looking after my neighbors' dogs and cats and over the years I have looked after the pets of many of my friends. This always brought me joy and so I would love the opportunity to take care of your furry family members :) I would happily take your dog on walks and hikes, play fetch, and give them lots of love and attention. I promise to treat them as I would my own pets, which means an endless stream of love and attention. I currently workong full-time but work from home 3 days a week, so I have some flexibility in my availability for pet sitting. Relaxing time away can only happen if you can trust that your pets are loved and taken care of almost as good as you😊 I have had a variety of pets my entire life. Friends, neighbors and family have trusted me to take excellent care of their pets. I have gone to their home, they have come to my home and I have visited just to walk them. I love all animals and have learned over the years how to recognize their individual needs. We have a quiet space with lots of grass and woods for playing. My groomer told me there is a need for pet care and I want more pets in my life, so this is perfect for me. I love to walk in all kinds of weather and I love to play outside whenever possible. In addition, I love farm animals too! Your pets are safe in my back yard. About: Highlight: I am experienced with aggressive and reactive animals! I have had animals in my home and life as long as I can remember. I have cared for countless dogs, cats, and small animals. At one point in my life I had seven dogs and a number of other pets. I have been providing independent pet care since late 2015. Animal care and rescue is my greatest passion. I am skilled at handling dogs and other animals of all ages, sizes, and temperments. I have worked with aggressive and reactive dogs and have experience deescalating conflicts when they arise. I am more than happy to care for any kind of animals- not just dogs and cats. My own current pets are two dogs and four cats. I also have experience caring for small animals, various poultry and livestock, and horses. When I was 15 years old I started occasionally farm/house sitting for a family with dogs, horses, and a cat, and caring for all of the animals there during my stay. With them I have worked daytime hours as well as overnight stays for a few days at a time so they could take trips out of state. Pets are always leashed inside before heading for a walk and the leash isn't unclipped until we are back inside with a closed door. I am vigilant in looking out for potential risks (e.g. other animals, cars, unsafe things they could eat, etc) and making sure to give them a wide berth. In my own home I have any small animals carefully segregated into rooms that predator animals don't go into. Anytime I leave the room, I do a check and verify that all predators are outside the door so nobody can get hurt. I monitor the dogs around the cats to make sure all interactions are safe. I have utlized crates and baby gates when necessary to keep animals safely contained and/or separated in the past. I am skilled at containing flight risk animals and watching out for their safety. We live away from the hectic lifestyle that most have and love it that way. I do occasionally take on a couple of families pets at the same time but do keep the pets seperated for safety purposes. If you feel youre dogs would be happier being the only visitors, let me know and we can almost always figure something out. I have a large area for dogs to run and play by themselves if they prefer or can spend time with our two friendly dogs who love to play even more.I offer crates if needed. But typically allow them run of the house and let them sleep where they are comfortable. Pets are more than welcome make themselves comfortable on the furniture or bed. About: Ever since the family cat had kittens when I was four years old, I have been drawn to the care of animals. Honoring the lives of pets as our friends has been a source of inspiration and therapy for myself personally. As a working artist, taking the time to care for animals has been such a privilege and the perfect change of pace while I continue to work on creative projects. I have a German Shepherd that I keep separated from the work I do with other animals. I am located at a small farmhouse in Augusta that has a huge yard with two a-joining fields. About: Since becoming fully remote for my full time job in 2020, I have taken on the roll of “trusted pet-sitter” for over 30 families and almost 50 furry friends. Back home in Maryland, I connected with these families just through word-of-mouth and referrals from happy families. Relaxing time away can only happen if you can trust that your pets are loved and taken care of almost as good as you😊 I have had a variety of pets my entire life. Friends, neighbors and family have trusted me to take excellent care of their pets. I have gone to their home, they have come to my home and I have visited just to walk them. I love all animals and have learned over the years how to recognize their individual needs. We have a quiet space with lots of grass and woods for playing. My groomer told me there is a need for pet care and I want more pets in my life, so this is perfect for me. I love to walk in all kinds of weather and I love to play outside whenever possible. In addition, I love farm animals too! Your pets are safe in my back yard. About: Highlight: I am experienced with aggressive and reactive animals! I have had animals in my home and life as long as I can remember. I have cared for countless dogs, cats, and small animals. At one point in my life I had seven dogs and a number of other pets. I have been providing independent pet care since late 2015. Animal care and rescue is my greatest passion. I am skilled at handling dogs and other animals of all ages, sizes, and temperments. I have worked with aggressive and reactive dogs and have experience deescalating conflicts when they arise. I am more than happy to care for any kind of animals- not just dogs and cats. My own current pets are two dogs and four cats. I also have experience caring for small animals, various poultry and livestock, and horses. When I was 15 years old I started occasionally farm/house sitting for a family with dogs, horses, and a cat, and caring for all of the animals there during my stay. With them I have worked daytime hours as well as overnight stays for a few days at a time so they could take trips out of state. In my adult life I have branched out, first with Rover a few years ago, and then with expanding farther into launching my private pet care business at the beginning of 2024 while still maintaining my presence on Rover. Sunday bookings are restricted to things that *must* occur on that day in order for me to try to have some level of work life balance. I take utmost care to keep animals in my care safe and properly contained. I make sure to follow whatever rules and structures are in place for the animals to ensure their safety. Pets are always leashed inside before heading for a walk and the leash isn't unclipped until we are back inside with a closed door. I am vigilant in looking out for potential risks (e.g. other animals, cars, unsafe things they could eat, etc) and making sure to give them a wide berth. In my own home I have any small animals carefully segregated into rooms that predator animals don't go into. Anytime I leave the room, I do a check and verify that all predators are outside the door so nobody can get hurt. I monitor the dogs around the cats to make sure all interactions are safe. I have utlized crates and baby gates when necessary to keep animals safely contained and/or separated in the past. I am skilled at containing flight risk animals and watching out for their safety. I am also fully insured and bonded through Pet Sitters Associates (PSA).
