“I whole-heartedly recommend Pat for pet-sitting services! She is a dedicated and deeply caring person who understands dogs and their psyches very well. She also has excellent communication skills and patience! She went above and beyond during my dogs' stay with her to ensure their physical and - equally if not more important - psychological well-being.”

About: Currently I am between caregiving clients trying to decide what my next move is. I was born into an animal loving family, extended family, etc. I am 59 years old and have never been without at least a cat or two. I've also had 2 of my own dogs since 2005. My last senior dog passed the rainbow bridge in 2024. Born in Connecticut, lived for 45 years in Maryland and now I am living in Maine where I love it! One reason I fell in love with Maine is you can bring your dog almost anywhere here. They are a pet loving no-kill state! I have administered just about every kind of pet med out there. Every single pet has their own personality and I am very patient to learn that personality so we will become friends. I have a pretty open schedule with no real deadlines, so when ever your pets need walks, feeding, medications or just spend time with them, I am there. My own pets get feed twice a day. The time varies depending on my pet sitting schedule. But usually Its about 10am and 7pm. Whatever instructions left for me for a pet sit, I will follow to the letter. I will ask questions or text later to make sure I understand everything your pet needs. I've never run into an animal not liking me, but I am very aware of them not be comfortable with me at first. That can be stressful for them of course, so its very important that their care instructions are followed to keep them as anxiety free as possible.
“Melanie provided a safe, nurturing environment for our Lucy. She was warm and welcoming when we met, and clearly gave Lucy lots of love while she was in her care. She has a large yard for dogs to play. She sent me pictures every day, both of Lucy playing with the other dogs, as well as relaxing. I felt completely confident that Lucy was in the best of hands!”

“Gael and Bridget were amazing with Penny! She had a great weekend frolicking on the beach and playing with Selkie. We received daily updates with pictures and videos which helped make us feel comfortable leaving our pup with a new family. We feel very lucky we found them and would absolutely love to have her stay again!”

“Jacki was AMAZING. She watched our energetic puppy overnight and was seriously the best we could ask for. She sent the best pics and videos. Being able to get updates was wonderful! If you’re looking for a pet sitter, i don’t know how you could find anyone better. She genuinely loves dogs, and guaranteed your dog will have the best time at her house! We are so grateful we found her, she is absolutely the best!”

“I was and am very impressed with Jessica and her family for how she took our baby, Miss Gia, in. This was the very 1st time Gia had stayed without us. Gia came home very happy to see us and we'll taken care of. I also LOVED the communication Jess had with us. The pictures, the updates, honestly all of it. We WILL use her again, if she'll have us. A HUGE THANK YOU. ?”

“Molly was great. She made us feel very comfortable about leaving Millie in her home. She sent us pics while we were dining of Millie which really helped as this was our first time using this service. Thanks Molly!”

“Highly recommend Lindsay. We booked with her last minute for a week. She was very attentive and answered any question I had. She sent me updates on Abby. I felt like my pup was safe and well loved. Abby whimpered the whole way home because she was sad to leave. When we picked up Abby we had a sweet card and a report card on how she was during her stay. We will definitely use Lindsay moving forward. She is amazing!!”

About: I have always been an animal lover, growing up in the countryside with an array of horses, goats, dogs and cats. I currently have two labradors (one is an *angel* and can calm even the most Nervous Nellies, and the other just wants you to throw the dang ball!). I have a large fenced-in area, wooded trails for curious noses and a food dehydrator for the occasional, chewy treat (with permission). For sure you can expect that your pup will be treated as one of our own with play, snuggles and comfy places to rest. I have help from a trustworthy teen and, at present, incredible flexibility in my schedule. I am really excited to host your furry family members! I am currently at home full-time. Multiple fetch sessions and walks in the woods throughout the day are the norm. During longer stays, I am am happy to take your dog on a hike in one of the nearby preserves. I have two very friendly dogs who would love some company! Note, I do have a twin daybed in my room that boarders are welcome to sleep on, or there is a spare room if they prefer a private space.
“I am so grateful for Bethany and her family for the loving care they give to my Australian shepherd, Remi. They care for her and treat her as part of the family. My affection and confidence may best be expressed by sharing that Bethany is listed in my contacts as “ Remi’s Rover Mom. “ I highly recommend 🙂🙏🐕”

“Wendy provided a loving home for our pup, Freddy, during extended travel for our family. Wendy's dog Elka was an instant friend to Freddy and knowing that he was safe, busy and receiving wonderful care took away a lot of anxiety. We look forward to Freddy staying with Wendy again in the future.”

“We are so thankful to Lizzie for taking such great care of Houston for the week. She made sure he was comfortable and included him in whatever she was doing. Lizzie is so good she anticipate Houston's needs. We know when we leave Houston with Lizzie we are coming back to a happy and healthy dog.”

About: I'm a work at home pet mom with a large yard, lots of toys, and a calm and welcoming house. I've always had large dogs from mixed breeds to Great Danes, but love and appreciate all types of well mannered dogs. My house sits well off the road, so its quiet and I hike or trail walk almost daily. I am adept at giving medicine, cleaning wounds and dealing with incontinent dogs, but I will only board dogs who are respectful of my cats. I am currently working from home on my own schedule. Boarded dogs who enjoy car rides can come with me on errands or outings. While each day may different, my activities will be built around the needs of the animals I am caretaking, especially if separation anxiety is an issue. I will care for your animals as per your instructions and the capabilities of your pet. I do not have a fenced in yard, but have installed a run line in the past. If a dog is used to being crated, receiving treats, or sleeping on the couch - no problem. Conversely, I don't give animals people food, and if you want your pets to stay off furniture I will strictly honor that as well. My house is small but open, so it is easy to keep an eye on them.
About: I had beagles growing up and was totally fascinated by them and they brought a big smile to my face with their antics. Later on, I adopted a red Doberman female dog and loved her to pieces taking her on all sort of outdoor adventures - she was highly athletic! I had a poodle who was a bit shy but nevertheless I gave her a great life with endless throwing of the ball for fetch and taking care of her when she went blind - older poodles have that tendency. I have a 11 year old cockapoo who is lean and trim and well loved! Yes could have used more training but what an awesome, well adjusted dog who is super friendly as I my two year old female cocker spaniel who is an absolute joy of sweetness. I have integrity, I think quick on my feet and am very responsible having raised a family and pets. I am a dog whisperer who can tune into all different kinds of dogs and dispositions. I am a semi retired man and so have much more free time. I love outdoor adventures and sunshine and I know dogs do too! First off, every dog is different and has his or her own quirks from dietary to social interactions with other dogs. It’s great to love dogs but it’s also important to provide them structure and pay good attention to their health needs. Not every dog is cut out for lengthy walks so I tailor the experience to whatever brings the dog most joy!
“Ellie and Sarah are great! Their house has a great setup for dogs with a fenced in area in the yard. They were super responsive to my messages, provided pictures, and asked questions of their own to make sure they provided my pets with excellent care. They were also flexible with my pickup time when my travel plans changed due to weather. Would book again!”

About: I have a genuine passion for dogs and all animals; my goal is to help families take off some pressure so both they and their pets can enjoy life to the fullest! I live in Wiscasset and would love to hang out with your furry pal! The outdoors are my favorite place to be, so if you have an active pet we will get along great! Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have; I would love to help you and your pup (or kitty!) as much as I can! I work out of Augusta Monday through Friday from 7-3 but have some flexibility within that. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. I am flexible to the needs of the family and their pet. I live near plenty of trails/beaches, and can be available for longer walks/hikes when requested!

About: Ever since i was little we've always had animals at home, I have experience caring for animals with different needs and personalities. I'm very attentive to pet behavior and i understand how important routines, patience, and trust are when caring for someone's pet, my number 1 priority is to make them feel safe, happy, and cared for while their owners are away. I'm currently working part-time so Mondays-Fridays i am available to care for pets, i am able to do weekends if needed, but my schedule is pretty open! I have a Mini Austrailian Shepherd named Teagan who is my fur baby, she goes out about every two hours but if she really needs to go she will tell you, she gets along great with other dogs, and she is full of personality and loves to play!

“Hayleigh did a wonderful job with our cats. They were adopted litter mates at the age of 3 months. They have never been without us, so they were a little shy about showing themselves. Everything was done as asked, feeding, litter box, etc. Would use again if the need arises.”

“Melanie was great! We were nervous leaving our cats for two weeks but she was very reassuring and kind to our pets- giving each the individual care and attention they needed. She sent regular updates and even communicated with our daughter as we were out of the country. Would book with her again!”

“Tanya was so very accommodating! I needed a last minute drop in for my dog Josie and she responded back to my request quickly and we were able to do a meet and greet that same day! When she stopped by she even sent me photos of my girl which made me so happy, most importantly she gave Josie her medication which was my biggest concern. Thank you so much Tanya!”

“Beth is fantastic! We were away for more than a week and she stayed with our cat (a sometimes challenging cat!), and he was incredibly cared for. She went above and beyond, and we will definitely have her care for our kitty again should the need arise. I can’t recommend Beth highly enough.”

“Brooke was terrific! She sent us plenty of photos, kept us up-to-date on our diabetic cat and was very comfortable calling or texting with questions (since we hadn't provided all of the answers). She was on time and extremely caring. We'll definitely be hiring her again.”

“After we’d stayed home all through the Covid year, Jill was the first caregiver our 2 young kitties ever had. We were nervous to leave them, especially shy Jack. Well - no worries!! Jill has a calm, gentle demeanor and both cats quickly became comfortable with her. She’s responsive, reliable, and resourceful - she even found our extra birdseed to ensure the feeder outside the window (major cat entertainment!) stayed full. We definitely would recommend Jill!”

“Highly recommend Jacki for anyone in or visiting the Rockland area. Pick-up and drop-off were a breeze. Our dog happily went right with her as if she knew her for forever and on the second day our dog gave full body wiggles when she realized she got to stay a second day. She was a happy and TIRED dog when we got home. Jacki's dogs were wonderful doggie hosts and welcoming friends.”

“Melanie, her doggies, and her family are the best! Loretta can be a little shy at first - but quickly became a part of the crew and had had fun everyday playing with her new friends. Melanie and her whole family made Loretta feel right at home. We felt good leaving her knowing that she would be spending all day running around outside and playing with buddies, or finding a cozy spot to sleep in the sun on their beautiful deck. We highly recommend Melanie and will totally reach out again the next time we find ourselves in the area.”

“Beth was so wonderful with our two dogs, and took great care to understand their personalities and what they need during the day from an exercise and experience standpoint. We felt so comfortable having her watch our dogs because of her wonderful calmness and deep love for animals and our dogs had the best time hanging out with Beth!. We will absolutely have her watch our dogs again. Thanks, Beth!!”

About: Dog care shouldn’t cost you an arm and a leg! Whether you’re going on vacation or need some help after surgery, I’m more than happy to do anything and everything in between to help you and your pup(s) during your time of need! I work Mondays and Tuesdays 11p-7a so I can check in on pets late at night or early in the morning! Wednesday through Sunday I *only* do Rover, so I can focus on helping pet parents. I make sure to ask clarifying questions during meet and greets, then follow them to the T during visits in the future. Chores are done first if needed (cleaning litter box, letting out pups, food/water, etc) which I try to keep to under 10 minutes in order to give the majority of my time to the pet and spending time with them.
“Hayleigh did a wonderful job walking and taking care of Evie while I was gone for a long day away. Evie loved spending time and playing with Hayleigh. Would highly recommend.”
“I think that my dog Elsa can sense Melanie's love for dogs. During our earlier meet and greet, Elsa, a fairly shy dog, seemed comfortable with Melanie, going back to her for treats and pets. For this visit, Melanie showed up right on time, followed the plan we talked about, gave updates with photos, and gave a great, informative summary of the visit. We've rarely had carers/sitters for my dog, so I was very happy to see that Elsa seemed relaxed and calm when I got home. I would highly recommend Melanie with the experience and sense of responsibility she brings to the work. Thanks Melanie!”

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my family had a dog and two cats that were truly part of our family, and I loved caring for them. As a teenager, I often house sat for neighbors with pets, which made me realize even more how much I enjoyed being around animals and taking care of them. Now as an adult, I have two beautiful golden retrievers, Sam and Penny, who bring so much joy to our family. They are spoiled and very loved; my family jokes that I love the dogs more than them sometimes, and honestly, they may not be completely wrong I work a remote job, I am always around for plenty of attention, potty breaks, play time, walks, and most importantly treats! When weather is warm enough we spend a lot of time on the lake. I have two friendly, loving, playful Golden Retrievers who are always looking to make new friends. We enjoy playing daily, taking walks down to the beach, and belly rubs with treats!

I grew up watching friends and families dogs as well as walking them. College student home for the summer! I am a loving, reliable sitter for home and pets. I have some extra free time on my hands and I love hanging out with dogs! I believe that offering plenty of affection and attention is very important to your dogs. I also strongly believe in following a pets routine such as walks, medication and so that they still feel comfortable in at home and at home even when the owners aren’t home! I like to send regular photos and updates so that you know your pet is safe and having a good time!
About: I'm a 53yr old, active woman who spent 15 years as an Animal Control Officer in my local towns and then with my local Sheriff's office. I've fostered and adopted numerous rescues and am a huge animal advocate. Caring for other people's animals has always been my dream and now I'm doing it. I'm available almost any day at any time. I'm happy to stay with your pets or just stop in for a visit. I do not offer pet sitting in my home as my two rescues do not do well with other dogs. I will adhere to your wants and rules for your animals. I love my pets, and I will treat yours as if they are my own. But I will not do anything, give them anything, or let them do anything you do not approve of.
About: I've grown up with German Shepard's being bred in my home, have been surrounded and trusted all of my life with pet care from a very young age by friends and family. Have my own dog now, Nahla, who is very loved & well behaved. Depending on the temperament of your dog we can introduce, or your dog and I can have a solo adventure if that's what they'd prefer too! I'm currently available any day of the week, during any daytime hours, and for multiple hour excursions. My work schedule (for the time being) is very flexible, so I am able to create my own hours. I am currently only taking dogs on hikes/ long walks at the moment, no overnight stays. But you can always expect your dog to be taken care of like I would my own when we are in our adventures. My dog is my baby, therefore my #1 responsibility, and you're dog will be treated the same. 💙 You can always expect hikes to: 1. Be close in proximity to emergency vet centers. 2. Always include an emergency first aid kit, including blood stop, and dog safe benadryl incase your pet were to suffer from an allergic reaction to a bee sting or anything else. 3. Have water, food, and treats on stand by. I ask that you provide food, however I will provide treats, unless directed otherwise. Treats are always consciously chosen, the ones I have right now are real duck & turkey treats that are 100% grain free, no fillers, no synthetic colors, or artificial flavors. We can discuss portions that you allow. 4. Have whatever needs your dog might have be 100% into consideration- wether that be pace, different terrain for different agility levels, or medical conditions that limit them. I want your dog coming back feeling satisfied, tired and also proud of themselves. But not overworked or ever in pain / worse condition from when they left. Some dogs can go for miles, Some just for a while- and that's okay! We will also go over the charachter of your dog, and interactions they prefer/ to avoid. If they like kids, socialization, other dogs, ect. If your dog doesn't enjoy socialization then I will find a more secluded trail so it's not over stimulated. My dog prefers old male dogs that are super relaxed and play mildly, so I also understand that finding friends for our pets is sometimes situational and I want to try to find the right fit for your pet so they feel happy and secure in the experience each time. 5. All the love & attention I can wrap up into the length of our hike!

I live near plenty of trails/beaches, and can be available for longer walks/hikes when requested!
