About: Currently I am between caregiving clients trying to decide what my next move is. I was born into an animal loving family, extended family, etc. I am 59 years old and have never been without at least a cat or two. I've also had 2 of my own dogs since 2005. My last senior dog passed the rainbow bridge in 2024. Born in Connecticut, lived for 45 years in Maryland and now I am living in Maine where I love it! One reason I fell in love with Maine is you can bring your dog almost anywhere here. They are a pet loving no-kill state! I have administered just about every kind of pet med out there. Every single pet has their own personality and I am very patient to learn that personality so we will become friends. I have a pretty open schedule with no real deadlines, so when ever your pets need walks, feeding, medications or just spend time with them, I am there. My own pets get feed twice a day. The time varies depending on my pet sitting schedule. But usually Its about 10am and 7pm. Whatever instructions left for me for a pet sit, I will follow to the letter. I will ask questions or text later to make sure I understand everything your pet needs. I've never run into an animal not liking me, but I am very aware of them not be comfortable with me at first. That can be stressful for them of course, so its very important that their care instructions are followed to keep them as anxiety free as possible.

About: From the time I was young, I’ve always had my own animals to include cats, dogs, hamsters, mice, and into my adult life. I continue to have dogs and ferrets as well as cats. My parents have always had dogs as well and have had a few litters of puppies that I have assisted with, and my dog has had her own litter of puppies so I’m very familiar with young dogs and training and patience. I’ve never worked in a vet clinic, but I have many years of clinical experience with humans so I do have that background. I work from home Monday through Friday and my home office is in our finished basement so the dogs have their own space in the basement with food, water, toys, beds, puppy pads as well as full access to my office to come and go as they please and they just spend the day with me while I’m working. We live on the lake so we don’t have a large yard but it’s also a private road so there’s no traffic and I have an outdoor pen for the dogs but when I’m not working, I also am outside with them so they are always being watched and tended to. I will take them swimming in the lake or out on the canoe if that is something that is OK with pet parents and we do go for walks in the mornings before I start my workday and at lunchtime if the weather permits.

About: I had beagles growing up and was totally fascinated by them and they brought a big smile to my face with their antics. Later on, I adopted a red Doberman female dog and loved her to pieces taking her on all sort of outdoor adventures - she was highly athletic! I had a poodle who was a bit shy but nevertheless I gave her a great life with endless throwing of the ball for fetch and taking care of her when she went blind - older poodles have that tendency. I have a 11 year old cockapoo who is lean and trim and well loved! Yes could have used more training but what an awesome, well adjusted dog who is super friendly as I my two year old female cocker spaniel who is an absolute joy of sweetness. I have integrity, I think quick on my feet and am very responsible having raised a family and pets. I am a dog whisperer who can tune into all different kinds of dogs and dispositions. I am a semi retired man and so have much more free time. I love outdoor adventures and sunshine and I know dogs do too! First off, every dog is different and has his or her own quirks from dietary to social interactions with other dogs. It’s great to love dogs but it’s also important to provide them structure and pay good attention to their health needs. Not every dog is cut out for lengthy walks so I tailor the experience to whatever brings the dog most joy!

About: I have been taking care of all types of animals since I was ten years old, I was always the one asked when neighbors went away on vacation. I have raised my own dog, Bailey, since she was eight weeks old, and I would love to spend time with other dogs! My dog is a reactive leash walker, so I have experience with distraction and redirection techniques, and feel confident handling dogs of all behaviors. My other dog, Bella, recently passed away, however I now have experience caring for senior dogs and taking care of their multitude of needs. About: Growing up my home was filled with animals, we had dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, fish and hamsters. As an adult my life is quite similar. It is important to me that my children be raised around animals to learn to love and respect all life! I’m a stay at home wife and mother. My schedule is very flexible. About: I’ve taken care of dogs cats rabbits and horses ever since I was 10. I’ve cared for new born kittens as well as senior cats at the Humane Society for almost 10 years. Also per your needs I will need to have a brief break in the day to drive home to make sure my cats are fed and happy with some play time if I am asked to do overnights. I have 4 cats now. They get fed on special foods on a schedule. When they are eating I clean their cat boxes and when they are finished, I clean their bowls. Before they begin their daily naps , I play with each of them. They range in age from 19 to 1 yr. I also check their water bowls throughout the day or night depending. I can give them treats anytime. I also have learned various medical skills and hope to go back to school for a third degree as a vet tech and if life allows veterinary practice.
About: Just a college kid missing my pets while at school and willing to give an abundant amount of attention to everyone else's. Have had dogs , among other animals, all my life. All of the dogs that I have owned have been on the bigger side so I have no problem handling large animals. I also volunteered at the MSPCA for a short amount of time walking and caring for dogs and other animals there. Have recently moved to Portland and am looking for some new dogs to walk and love! About: Currently I am between caregiving clients trying to decide what my next move is. I was born into an animal loving family, extended family, etc. I am 59 years old and have never been without at least a cat or two. I've also had 2 of my own dogs since 2005. My last senior dog passed the rainbow bridge in 2024. Born in Connecticut, lived for 45 years in Maryland and now I am living in Maine where I love it! One reason I fell in love with Maine is you can bring your dog almost anywhere here. They are a pet loving no-kill state! I have administered just about every kind of pet med out there. Every single pet has their own personality and I am very patient to learn that personality so we will become friends. I have a pretty open schedule with no real deadlines, so when ever your pets need walks, feeding, medications or just spend time with them, I am there. My own pets get feed twice a day. The time varies depending on my pet sitting schedule. But usually Its about 10am and 7pm. Whatever instructions left for me for a pet sit, I will follow to the letter. I will ask questions or text later to make sure I understand everything your pet needs. I've never run into an animal not liking me, but I am very aware of them not be comfortable with me at first. That can be stressful for them of course, so its very important that their care instructions are followed to keep them as anxiety free as possible.
