“My boy Peter had a great stay with Karen. She was kind enough to pick him up to save me time. I was sent a short update with a photo everyday. I don’t think he was excited to leave. I will book Peter a stay again in the future.”

About: Your pets didn’t book the trip. They still expect room service. I provide calm, reliable care for cats, dogs, small animals, chickens, and the occasional household plant that has been left in my emotional custody. Most pets do best when their routine stays familiar, so I keep things simple: food, water, walks, litter, meds as instructed, photos, updates, and a steady human who shows up when she says she will. Many of my clients are away for a weekend, a work trip, a vacation, or a longer stay in Maine. Whether you live here year-round, are visiting for the season, or are here temporarily, I help keep pets settled while their people are away. I’m especially comfortable with cats, senior pets, shy pets, multi-pet homes, and animals who need patience before they decide I’m acceptable. HOUSE SITTING / OVERNIGHT CARE Overnight care is limited and best suited for planned trips, established clients, and pets who need a steady routine. I keep care selective so pets stay comfortable and the house stays sane. Before booking, please share your pet’s routine, personality, medical needs, quirks, and anything they believe is legally theirs. DROP-IN VISITS Best for cats, dogs, small animals, chickens, and pets who prefer their own home and their own couch rules. Visits may include feeding, fresh water, litter, outdoor breaks, medications as instructed, basic tidy-up, and photo updates. Extended visits may be recommended for multiple pets, senior pets, or more involved routines. DOGGY DAY CARE Small-group day care is offered on a limited basis for dogs I already know. Care is calm, structured, supervised, and not a chaotic free-for-all. This is not a high-volume facility-style service. I plan my schedule intentionally to support well-defined care needs and clear timelines. This allows me to provide consistent, attentive care whether you’re traveling nearby or farther from home. Safety and consistency are always a priority. I follow established routines, respect household instructions, and pay close attention to changes in behavior, appetite, or comfort. Clear communication helps ensure a smooth experience while you’re away.
“Debbie was fantastic! We were very worried dog parents, leaving two older (7 and 9) bigger breeds, but also our 6-month giant breed, who’s in training as a livestock guardian dog. Debbie’s place is truly a spa for doggos, thoughtfully designed and she graciously allowed me to visit before booking. We felt confident leaving our babies in her protection, and they clearly had a great time! (Týr wants a Linda at our farm!). We will definitely refer friends who visit and we will revisit!! Thank you!!”

“Tabrizia was amazing. My dog had a health crisis and Tabrizia and her husband handled it with great care and grace. They were so kind to my dog (and me). I would recommend them to anyone.”
“Our 11 month old, rambunctious cavalier King Charles spaniel had a wonderful vacation with Emily and Leroy! She went to the beach, on wonderful walks, and had great lap naps. She will definitely be back to visit her new friends the next time we go out of town.”

“Great family. We are so glad that we found Kate. Our Monet hound dog was treated well with love for the whole week while we were out of town. Kate communicated well with details on how good things were going and photos too. Monet definitely settled in well with Kate and her family. We highly recommend looking into Kate watching your pet.”

“My Australian Shepherd, Remi, had a great time with Melissa. I know Remi was well cared for and incorporated into their family activities including walks and hikes. I know Remi will be excited to return for another visit.”

“Amber is a wonderful host! We can tell Nala had a great time - she came back relaxed, loving, and tired, a perfect doodle review. Thanks for taking care of Nala and showing her so much love.”

“I can't say enough good things about Jess! I was really nervous about leaving my dog with someone for the first time, but she made me feel so comfortable. From the moment I dropped him off, it was clear that she genuinely cares for animals. She treated my dog like her own, giving him plenty of attention and love. She sent me regular updates and photos, which really made me happy to see him throughout his stay. He seemed so happy and content when I picked him up, and I could tell he had a great time. I will absolutely be booking with her again and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter!”

“Jill is wonderful - very kind and compassionate, in addition to being incredibly organized and responsive! She takes amazing care of my 4 (very different personalities!) cats. I feel so comfortable leaving them in her care and it is an amazing peace of mind to know they are in safe and loving hands when I'm away. Jill is the best!”

“Karen is great! She has been frequently doing drop in visits for our young dog. Our dog was shy at first but Karen was patient and always communicated how her visits went. Our dog now loves her visits with Karen. Highly recommend using her services!”

“Phenomenal experience with Charlotte!!! My puppos had the best day with her visits. Having the updates and photos made me so happy. She was attentive and truly went above and beyond with the care of my dogs. Thrilled to have connected with her and cannot wait to use her again!! 🥰 Thank you again for going above and beyond!”

“Julia took very well care of our cats! This was our first time using the Rover app, and it can be difficult welcoming a stranger into your home. We will definitely use Julia in the future for any cat sitting needs!”

About: I am a cat mom of 1, but soon to be 2! I have always had a cat in my household since the day I was born! That’s 21 years of living with cats! At the age of 10, as one of my chores, it was my responsibility to feed our cats and give them water and I loved it! I left the litter box up to my dad! I do now have that responsibility as an adult though! I have always loved being around cats and there were times where there were no cats in our house and it felt very strange! I’ve had a total of 10 cats in my 21 years of life that I absolutely adore and soon to be 11 when we receive our newest addition! Overall, I am very experienced with cats and absolutely love them! I love their cuddles most of all!

“Chuck was fantastic! My cat adored him (he sends great videos and pictures) and he was awesome about texting updates and answering my texts right away. Highly recommend. I've had some good sitters from Rover.com, but Chuck is just the best.”

“Polly is a fantastic person and she exudes love for dogs. Our border collie felt instantly at home with her and her dogs Dexter and Blondie. We give her the Nobel Prize and our thanks 🙏”

“Karen is a natural with animals. Especially dogs... especially our dogs! The day-long stay went without a hitch, her rural home is close to Mount Desert Island and made it possible for us to make it to not-so-pet-friendly events there. Highly recommend.”

“Debbie took great care of our pup and even sent us videos during his stay. He was a little anxious at first, and she made sure he was comfortable. We would definitely recommend Debbie!”

“Our dog Rosie had the absolute best time with Charlotte and her two adorable dogs! We are staying near Acadia and attended a wedding during our stay. Charlotte took the very best care of Rosie and we were thrilled that our best girl had the time of our life while we were away. We loved getting photos and updates from Charlotte of Rosie playing and running around outside, playing with toys inside and snuggling up at night. It was so clear that our girl was totally comfortable and so very loved. Charlotte was so personable and kind as we planned the details of our trip, and totally flexible with our timing. Working with Charlotte was all around the most perfect experience. Thank you so much!”

“Jessica is an angel. We needed someone to watch two senior,…spoiled rotten,…rescue dogs for us while we visited Acadia National Park. It was a spur of the moment decision. And Jessica was there for us. Please don’t hesitate to leave your pets with Jessica. And consider yourself lucky if she’s available.”
“So happy we were able to get a last minute booking and was able to leave Mackie in such capable hands. Got feedback during the day and sitter was flexible about start and end times.”

About: Hello! I'm Ashley. I am 35 years old. I am from Stuart, FL. I will be returning to work and live in Bar Harbor, ME for the fall season from Sept 22 through December 1, 2026. I have always been an animal lover and if I could afford a farm and have every type of animal in it... I would. I have owned, dogs, fish, and birds. I have had dogs most of my life. I had a Jack Russell who lived to be 11 years old named Romeo...He was a ball of energy, he had eye problems and needed drops daily. I also had a Rat Terrier named Oliver, we bought him at a year old. He lived to be 14 years old. Most recently my sister currently has a mini golden doodle, who is 4 years old. I loved taking my dogs on the trails in the parks. If I didn’t travel so much, I would love a dog of my own. I work seasonal contract jobs outside the National parks, mainly in the summer season. I go walking everyday & I would love to bring your pup with me. I am renting a shared apartment so I will not be able to bring them to my place. I will happily come to your hotel or house!
“Kelly did a great job walking and hanging out with Milo! She was very prompt, took special interest in what Milo liked to do, and reached out with questions during their stay together. I highly recommend!”

About: I've been taking care of dogs and cats for almost 27 years. I have four dogs of my own and used to have cats. I've fostered both cats and dogs for rescue. I also volunteered at a Zoo at when living in Delaware. I love animals and can adapt to what they need! I'm currently working part-time and my schedule is flexible. I can work around your schedule. I've taken care of both dogs and cats. I walk for exercise and I'm happy to take your dog/dogs with me if interested. My dogs are my priority and your pets will be like family to me. I want you to know they are loved as much as I love my pets.
About: Hello! I'm Jess - I'm originally from Northern California and moved to Maine in 2025. Growing up I always had dogs (and sometimes cats), and learned to take care of pets from a young age. I was the go-to person in my neighborhood for petsitting, drop-in visits and dog-walking. I look forward to meeting you & your fur babies! I'm currently only working through Rover, so my schedule is very flexible right now! I'm available for drop-ins, all-day stays and overnights, as well as for long-term pet-sitting in your home. I love making every animal feel cared for - from playing with them, going on long walks outside, providing pets and cuddles, giving them occasional treats, etc. I care for every pet as if they were my own. I also love to send little text and video updates, so you can check in on them while you're away. I've even done FaceTimes with pets and their owners!
“Communicative and flexible with some last minute changes. Arrived for a first time walk just as I was getting home from an unexpectedly long work day so the dog was bonkers. Chloe met the chaos with calm and professionalism, instantly made friends with the dog and the dog had a great time. Will definitely be hiring again”

“Thank goodness for Katie! We went out for a very long day, and she was able to come to the house twice (!!!) to take care of our pets. She got our dog out for a walk two times (not always easy) and fed him and the cat and made sure everything was in order. She is always super responsive and responsible, and it is so comforting to know that someone with Katie's level of expertise and experience is taking care of our pets with loving care and kindness. Thank you!”

About: Animals have always been a passion of mine. I grew up with several different animals and have always loved being around them and taking care of them! At a very young age I really wanted to work with animals and that same passion of working with them is still the same today! As of right now, my schedule varies! I could be working any shift from 6:30-2:30, 7:30-4:30, 9:15-5:15, or 12:15-5:15. I am a new mom who is trying to make ends meet but working still isn’t helping because daycare is so expensive! I am really trying to pet sit part time or even full time! My weekends and holidays are always open except for the occasional family trips in the summer! I do not have a fenced in yard at my home so that means that your fur babies will be kept on a leash when taking them outside. Your fur babies will also be kept company by 2 friendly dogs and 2 friendly cats! I also have to crate one of my dogs so I can easily crate dogs if needed!
About: I’ve taken care of animals of all kinds since I was old enough to walk, from horses to dogs and cats. I love animals and am very responsible. I am currently enrolled in college, so any house sitting must be pretty close to school or apartment in the bangor area. Otherwise I am pretty flexible and willing to work with you as long as you are willing to work with me:) Since I am enrolled in college, I cannot pet-sit in my own home. But I love animals and I believe they are more comfortable in the comfort of their own home and I am very tidy and will pick up after myself and your pet, if need be.
