About: I have grown up with pets of all kinds my whole life. I have owned dogs, cats, small reptiles, rabbits, fish. I have over 25 years of Petcare/animal experience. I have professionally cared for animals for 15 years. I have worked in Petcare in a pet store caring for the in-store animals: fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds, pockets pets, insects. I have volunteered at an animal shelter. I have worked my adult career in a primary veterinary clinic, and a specialty veterinary referral hospital. I have lots of experience with cats and dogs. About: I have personally owned cats for the past 20+ years. I rescued my first cat Amos, as a stray kitten. He was my first pet that I had on my own after moving into my first apartment. We spent 17 wonderful years together. About: I never had a dog of my own growing up, but I always had a blast watching animals for my family and friends! Taking dogs on walks and simply playing with them is so much fun. I love to be able to bond with pets and really get to know them. I’m not a professional dog trainer, however I’ve attempted to crate train and teach other simple tricks to dogs and was successful. I have experience with senior dogs as well as high energy puppies. I am able to adapt to any dogs personality to ensure they have a great time while their owner is away! Pet care is an important part of my daily routine. I am currently available full time, Monday-Sunday. I make sure to set aside time for walks, feeding, and playtime with the pets I care for. I also ensure they have regular check-ins and any necessary medication or grooming is done on time. About: I am currently doing Rover part-time, I’m also working 2 other part-time jobs, however, for one of them I get to choose my own schedule. If given enough notice (usually a week) I can take off the days you’d need from one of my jobs, and then just schedule my other around it! I’ve had and taken care of dogs/cats since a young age. About: Although we are new to the area, we are definitely not new to caring for dogs. We recently purchased the well-known dog kennel in Smithsburg and are in the process of restoring it. Parts of the kennel are already fully functional, and we’re excited to begin welcoming dogs while we continue improving the property. It’s a place many people in the community already know, and we feel lucky to be able to carry on its history. Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I grew up with them and honestly can’t remember a time when I didn’t love being around them. That same love has followed me into adulthood. Over the years I’ve naturally become the neighborhood go-to pet sitter. Friends, neighbors, and family have trusted me with their pets for years, and I always care for them the same way I care for my own dogs — with patience, attention, and lots of affection. One of the things I’m most proud of is the therapy work I did with my dog. I trained and certified her as a therapy dog, and for 10 years we volunteered together in hospitals and nursing homes. That experience actually inspired my career path, and I went on to become a certified occupational therapist. My sweet therapy dog has since passed away after a long and wonderful life. She was incredibly special to me. I’m now starting that journey again with my new puppy, Merango, and hope to continue therapy work in the future. Right now I’m taking some time away from my occupational therapy work to focus on renovating and restarting the kennel. It’s something I’ve always dreamed about doing, and I’m excited to bring new life to a place that so many people in the community already know. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and dogs with medical needs, including giving medications like insulin injections. Our property has large outdoor fenced runs that give dogs plenty of space to move around and enjoy the fresh air in a quiet farm setting. injections. I’m currently focused on renovating and restoring the kennel property, which allows me to be home most of the day and provide consistent supervision and care for the dogs staying with us. We are early risers in our home and typically start the day around 7 AM with potty breaks and breakfast. Mornings are usually spent outside enjoying the property — going on walks around our 20-acre farm or spending time in the fenced runs while I do morning chores. Around lunchtime everyone, animals included, usually settles in for a quiet rest period. I check that everyone has fresh water and food if needed before nap time. In the mid-afternoon we head back outside for more activity. Depending on the dog, this may include running in the fenced fields, exploring the property on a guided walk, or simply relaxing in the fresh air. Dinner is around 6 PM, followed by a calm evening inside. We finish the day with a final potty break and check-in before bedtime around 9 PM. My goal is to give dogs a peaceful farm stay with plenty of space to move, fresh air, and a consistent routine so they feel comfortable and relaxed while they’re away from home I understand how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else’s care. When I first started using Rover for my own dogs, I remember feeling nervous too. I always appreciated sitters who kept me updated, so I make a point to do the same. I’m happy to send photos and updates so you can see how your dog is doing and feel confident they’re happy and well cared for. On our property, dogs have access to spacious individual indoor/outdoor kennel runs where they can relax comfortably. “We knew the minute Heidi met us at the door for our Meet and Greet with Tux, our 13-year old Bichon-Poodle, that we had found the perfect sitter. Tux felt right at home wagging his tail at her kids and Moochie, her Golden Retriever. He sniffed around, as all dogs do, and made his way outside to explore in their fenced-in backyard. About: I grew up in a dog-loving home—there was never a time we didn’t have a furry friend in the family. Since my very first pet, I’ve enjoyed caring for animals. Now as an adult, I have a dog and a cat of my own. My pup is a high-energy guy that I’ve raised since he was a puppy. About: I took care of my shih tzu for 12 years, he recently passed of old age. I had dogs growing up but Oreo was the first that really attached to me. He whined if he couldn't get into the bathroom with me. He slept in my bed with me until he got too old to be that high up without supervision. I gave him embarassing mom haircuts for 10 years because I knew he hated the entire experience of going to the groomers and I wanted to spare him the discomfort. I was always looking for ways to make that dog more comfortable. I have experience in caring for senior dogs, so you can rest assured I will do everything I can for your senior furbabies' comfort. I'm currently working part-time weekdays caring for children but my weekends are open for watching your fur babies!! I usually wake up around 10-11am so I can be available any time after that Friday-Sunday! I always check the water after being gone to make sure there's still enough in there and that it's clean, and feed the cats 3 times a day when possible. Some days just twice usually when I have work. I am happy to follow whatever feeding schedule you have for your fur babies! I also try to brush the cats once a day to cut down on shedding. If you have brushes I am happy to give your pets all the brushin's! We also play with chew toys, cat wands, laser pointers, and socks! Whatever toys you have I'm sure we will have a blast!
About: I have experience, taking care of cats, dogs, and chickens. I am willing to take care of smaller animals, such as hamsters, birds or guinea pigs as well. During the summer, I am home most days of the week. I am a full time teacher so I am off during the summer. Therefore I am very reliable and flexible with times. I have a deck and a 6ft tall fenced in yard. I do not have small children in my home. I also do not have any other pets that may not get along with another dog.
