I’m Mags (Rover requires me to use my legal name) and I love all animals I have been passionate about dogs ever since I was a child but because experienced working with dogs and cats (and some bunnies) while working for the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County. I was a veterinarian assistant for one year and then became an adoptions Manager for three years. This was the most fulfilling experience of my adult life, being able to help animals and the community daily. I recently lost my closest companion, Xander, about a month ago. He was 13 years old and I had him since he walked into the humane society at two months old. Through him I gained even more experience with aging dogs, medical care and many behavioral changes as he aged. While using positive reinforcement training we navigated 6 military moves, life adaptions to aging and the introduction of two kittens. I will take all this experience and use it to provide the same amount of love an attention for you furry family members as I did for Xander. I am currently employed part time and have many days free as well as can stay over night or board animals in my home. I have a very flexible schedule and am happy to work with any client’s schedule as needed. I currently only have two cats in my home, so I’m able to provide boarding for cat friendly animals. I have a fenced in back yard and am usually not gone from the house for more than four hours. I also am available for staying over nights at clients houses for a more comfortable experience for everyone in the family.

Im a sophomore at frederick community college living at home, so my hours are almost always completely available! I am the dominant pet care taker in my home with two dogs (my angels). I care for pets in my clients home by greeting them and let them get to know me. If the client has a fenced in yard for me to take the dogs out and play thats amazing, but if not I take the dogs for nice walk to get them exercise and some entertainment. I'm flexible to each pet's needs and want to be sure they feel loved and cared for in your absence. And of course, it's important to me to be sure they are in a clean, safe, fed environment during the times that I'm not there - whether that means making sure water dishes are full, messes are cleaned up, doors are secured, temperatures are comfortable, etc. I've worked with pets who prefer crate-training to those who are allowed free reign, and am comfortable with whatever YOUR structure is for your pet. “Simon had a great day with Lonnie and the other dogs. He was so tired from playing, he didn't even hop on the couch with us that night. Lonnie was quick to reply, sent pictures and you can really tell he just loves dogs like his own. He also sat with Simon in a quiet space so S could eat his dinner. He has a tendency to not eat when he's busy busy with other doggies, so we really appreciated that. Would definitely recommend!”
