About: I had two dogs growing up (Snowball and Mocha) and in recent years, have dog sat for friends, friends, and for Rover clients. It's rewarding and super fun for me! I enjoy the long walks in my neighborhood (I live in an awesome neighborhood for that) and lots of cuddles/belly rubs with the dogs I am sitting! I work from home most of the week and have plenty of time during the day for neighborhood strolls/walks with my rover pups. I love going for walks to take a break so would take the dog out at least 3 or 4 times a day with me. My husband and I live in a 2 bedroom/2 floor condo with a balcony. The dog would have access to the first floor. We have hard wood floors, a ton of really great light and are on the 3rd floor. There are no elevators in this building. We have a ton of neighbors who have dogs, an elementary school near by with a nice track/green space, and lots of side walk space for walks.

Sara Mae's DaDa died just this past April and she had to move from a nice home in Charlottesville with a big porch and yard, to live with me in a DC apartment. She is a fairly anxious dog to begin with, and as you can imagine under tremendous stress and depression the past few months, getting sick a lot and not eating, especially when I had to return to work. She went from nearly 65lbs at her healthy weight, to 45lbs in two months. Since staying with Jessica and Nick during the day during the work week, she has started to calm down, is now eating again, and putting weight back on that she had lost due to depression and stress. Jessica and Nick are quite literally life savers, and I cannot thank them enough for easing my mind about Sara Mae and being a huge part of the process of helping her get to a new, healthy, normal while I have to be at work. My husband and I live with our 4 dogs in La Plata, Maryland. We have a large fenced in yard and plenty of space to play in. We have 2 doves in a birdcage at home but they will not interfere with the dogs. We are unable to host cats in our home due to an allergy but I am available to petsit for cats in your home. My husband watches our animals while I am away housesitting, they would not come with me to any of my bookings. I work about 15 hours out of the home each week but other than that I am always home. I have 4 dogs of my own, 3 birds, and 2 hedgehogs so taking care of animals is something I enjoy doing. I recently adopted 2 hedgehogs and I hope to keep growing my animal family in the future. I don't have kids and my husband also assists with animal care when needed (the dogs are my kids let's be honest). When I am boarding dogs at my home, they are one of my family and do the same things my dogs are doing. I take everyone outside frequently and I am always throwing a ball or playing tug of war with someone. If I'm napping, the dogs are on the bed with me napping too. Usually everyone is pretty happy to be lounging on the couch or following me around the house while I do my chores. I have a large fenced in yard that I prefer to use to exercise dogs and take them to potty. I am happy to walk dogs around the neighborhood if they need the extra exercise but I do require that the dog has a well fitting harness. Some dogs are master escape artists from their collars/harnesses (little houdinis), so if this is the case for your dog we will be playing inside my fenced in yard instead. My fence is about 6 feet tall so if your dog is capable of jumping higher than this please let me know when booking.

“Brian was great. He sent pictures a couple times a day. Tank seemed relaxed throughout his time with Brian and the home was great and easily supported my 120 lbs Berner. Tank seemed to enjoy the company as Brian works from home and pictures indicated that he would hang out in the office. Bob, Brian's dog was relatively indifferent to Tank during the meet and greet. Brian reported no problems between to the 2 of them, and I witnessed no negative interaction. Tank while happy we were back, exhibited no signs of stress from his stay. I am so glad to have a place to leave him and know he will be well taken care of.”
“Found Melonie on Rover and first met her back in January for a meet and greet before a trip I had been planning. That trip ended up not happening, so this was actually our first time using her services. The original meet-up went so well. My dog Sky isn't very socialized and tends to be anxious around new people and places, so how quickly she took to Melonie was a great sign. This was also the first time we'd left Sky with anyone outside of family, so that mattered a lot to us. Since some time had passed, Melonie graciously offered to do another meet and greet before this booking. Sky warmed up to her right away again. This time I brought my daughter along, and she felt just as confident in Melonie as I did. We both knew Sky was in good hands. Melonie has such a calm, pleasant presence, and it clearly puts Sky at ease. She sent us daily updates with pictures throughout the stay, and Sky looked happy and relaxed in every one.
