About: I have personally owned cats for the past 20+ years. I rescued my first cat Amos, as a stray kitten. He was my first pet that I had on my own after moving into my first apartment. We spent 17 wonderful years together. I have since rescued many other pets, including senior cats and I am very comfortable with medication administration, physical ambulatory assistance, and incontinence support. About: Although we are new to the area, we are definitely not new to caring for dogs. We recently purchased the well-known dog kennel in Smithsburg and are in the process of restoring it. Parts of the kennel are already fully functional, and we’re excited to begin welcoming dogs while we continue improving the property. It’s a place many people in the community already know, and we feel lucky to be able to carry on its history. Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I grew up with them and honestly can’t remember a time when I didn’t love being around them. That same love has followed me into adulthood. Over the years I’ve naturally become the neighborhood go-to pet sitter. Friends, neighbors, and family have trusted me with their pets for years, and I always care for them the same way I care for my own dogs — with patience, attention, and lots of affection. One of the things I’m most proud of is the therapy work I did with my dog. I trained and certified her as a therapy dog, and for 10 years we volunteered together in hospitals and nursing homes. That experience actually inspired my career path, and I went on to become a certified occupational therapist. My sweet therapy dog has since passed away after a long and wonderful life. She was incredibly special to me. I’m now starting that journey again with my new puppy, Merango, and hope to continue therapy work in the future. Right now I’m taking some time away from my occupational therapy work to focus on renovating and restarting the kennel. It’s something I’ve always dreamed about doing, and I’m excited to bring new life to a place that so many people in the community already know. I also have experience caring for senior dogs and dogs with medical needs, including giving medications like insulin injections. Our property has large outdoor fenced runs that give dogs plenty of space to move around and enjoy the fresh air in a quiet farm setting. injections. We are early risers in our home and typically start the day around 7 AM with potty breaks and breakfast. Mornings are usually spent outside enjoying the property — going on walks around our 20-acre farm or spending time in the fenced runs while I do morning chores. Around lunchtime everyone, animals included, usually settles in for a quiet rest period. I check that everyone has fresh water and food if needed before nap time. In the mid-afternoon we head back outside for more activity. Depending on the dog, this may include running in the fenced fields, exploring the property on a guided walk, or simply relaxing in the fresh air. Dinner is around 6 PM, followed by a calm evening inside. We finish the day with a final potty break and check-in before bedtime around 9 PM. My goal is to give dogs a peaceful farm stay with plenty of space to move, fresh air, and a consistent routine so they feel comfortable and relaxed while they’re away from home I understand how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else’s care. When I first started using Rover for my own dogs, I remember feeling nervous too. I always appreciated sitters who kept me updated, so I make a point to do the same. “We knew the minute Heidi met us at the door for our Meet and Greet with Tux, our 13-year old Bichon-Poodle, that we had found the perfect sitter. About: I am currently doing Rover part-time, I’m also working 2 other part-time jobs, however, for one of them I get to choose my own schedule. If given enough notice (usually a week) I can take off the days you’d need from one of my jobs, and then just schedule my other around it! I’ve had and taken care of dogs/cats since a young age. I love all animals and caring for them! Ive taken 2 pre-vet classes and would love to have a job working with animals full-time, no matter the job! As of now, I am caring for my 2 cats and leopard gecko! I only work Thurs-Sun, never more than 8 hours + my other job I can pick my own schedule! About: Hello I’ve grown up with dogs in the house and have rescued 2 little ones of my own when I moved into my own house. We have a fenced in yard with lots of toys and area to play! My in laws live on an island in the Caribbean and whenever we visit we care for the many stray animals that are on the island! I work from home daily so my schedule is really flexible and can accommodate last minute bookers! Taking breaks throughout the day is easy to do with such flexibility! We usually take our dogs on walks and let them run in the fenced in area. I can walk your dog, check in on them, feed them, and let them out in your fenced yard.
About: I've owned and watched dogs since I was 10 years old. From small puppies, elderly dogs, to dogs huge as a mastiff and small as a chihuahua. Whether they be my own, friends, or families I held dear, being around and caring for dogs have always been a huge part of my life! I've fed them, bathed them, given them medicine, and have always been relable. Currently, I am mostly self-employed & studying for a Real Estate license. I do work mornings at a horse barn, and have a contract gig working occasional weekends with a D&D-styled Bed & Breakfast. Thankfully those shifts are scheduled months in advance and, for barn work, typically wrap up around 11-Noon. :) I'm always willing to give dogs the ample affections and pets they need! I'm super attentive to when they need to go outside/take a walk, have their food right on schedule, have some playtime, or whenever they just geniunely need attention and love. I honestly do it everyday for my own dogs. So I'll have no trouble giving them the same needs I give my precious wee babies.
About: I’ve always had a deep love for animals, and my experience is mostly centered around dogs. At one point, I had five dogs of my own, but currently, I’m lucky to have two. While dogs are my main focus, I’ve also had the pleasure of caring for cats, horses, birds, reptiles, and smaller mammals like bunnies. No matter the pet, I treat each one with the same love and attention, ensuring they get the best care possible. You can trust that I’ll treat your furbabies as if they were my own! I work from home, so I’m usually available throughout the week and most weekends, making me super flexible for drop-ins and walks! While I can sometimes accommodate daytime requests, I generally prefer to schedule walks and visits after 4 p.m. once my workday is wrapped up. I’m happy to work with your pet’s schedule and provide them with the care and attention they deserve! When I take your dog on a walk or visit your pet, I treat them like they're my own. I make sure walks are fun and tailored to their energy level, whether it’s a relaxing stroll or a more energetic outing. I keep a close eye on them to ensure they’re comfortable and safe the entire time. During drop-ins, I’ll give them lots of love, playtime, and bathroom breaks, and make sure they have fresh water. About: In my 18 years of caring for my "fur children", 4 of them have been done professionally during summer, winter, and spring breaks of my college life. I have cared for my neighbors dogs, family and friends dogs, and have even booked some Pups from the previous "dogvacay". I absolutely love dogs and other animals and treat them all as family. I am very observant when it comes to my doggos. I make sure to conduct full body checks to make sure there are no ticks or unusual lumps or defects and the pup gets a great massage while I am at it. About: I'm Hannah! I have two boys, ages 3 and 7. My kids are great with dogs as we have been doing Rover for over 6 years. We are dog lovers and we would love to have your doggy in our home while you are away! I can offer as much or as little outside time that’s needed.
