Maybe because I grew up with three mammoth Samoyeds and Malamutes, and shared my life with Max, my sweet Cavalier, until he passed. I have many years of experience: walking dogs in NYC & in Western Mass; pet-sitting for my friends', neighbors' and partner's dogs (as well as for other types of pets). About: Have owned dogs for over 20 years, pet sit for friends, family, and neighbors. I am over cautious and protective when it comes to animals, I'm also active so love walking dogs, throwing a ball for them, or taking them to our local lake for a swim. I have tons of patience for shy dogs, I have dealt with rescue dogs and know when to get close or not to an animal. I have never had an incident where I have had a dog become aggressive with me. I have taken my own dog to obedience school a few times and learned a few key trips for working with difficult dogs or puppies. I have taken care of puppies within the past three years and am comfortable with the extra care they require. I have a solid connection with our local vet and emergency animal hospital and am able to handle dogs who need shots or medications administered. I work from home and have several pets already needing care. Bathroom breaks, walks, ball throwing, catnip time, all of it already happens in my home. We have several pet fences within our home and a puppy proof first floor. If a pet is okay of leash then we walk them around our 4 acres throwing a ball or whatever the pet likes. If a pet is not okay off leash, then we just walk them on a leash on our land every 1.5 or 2 hours or as needed. Water bowls are everywhere, no chemicals are on site within reach of curious puppies, and no cars move very quickly on our driveway and everyone who does arrive at our home knows we have several pets and need to slow down. We have owned dogs for over 25 years and have never had any of our pets get injured.

My shifts are Tuesday 12:30-6:30pm, Wednesday 1-6:30pm, and Friday 1-6:30pm. Please ensure your dog is okay at home for this time during the week. Some of my clients opt to have a neighbor by for a potty break, but it works for many dogs that I go right there, let them out and feed them. My main focus is providing care for animals by overnight house sitting, drop-by care, or dog walking. There may be a small travel fee added for houses outside my service area. My house sitting is very in demand, so please book early for best availability! Thank you! I will go over your regular routines for your furry family member, and chat about keeping your pet safe. I love a harness for walks, I’m familiar with gentle leads, and I carefully supervise backyard playtime. Wood trails are great for walks and I always keep a close eye to make sure your pet is not getting into any mischief! I have a good eye for ticks. I exercise the utmost caution when walking on the street, keeping alert for traffic or other hazards. I carefully assess dogs we may meet to ensure safety and distance, with skills I’ve learned working at a doggy daycare. I care for dogs in a reassuring, calm way, with lots of praise and patience. About: I've worked in multiple areas of animal care including breeding and puppy development, dog daycare, and veterinary care. I have experience caring for all different breeds and ages of dogs! I don't have much professional experience with cats, but I have lived with many cats throughout my life and am a huge cat lover! I do not have any pets myself as I recently lost my dog. So i am in serious need of some dog time! I am available any time after 2:00pm sunday-thursday and all day friday and saturday(: some days i am available earlier than that, typically sundays and mondays im available around 12:30-1:00pm. I am happy to accommodate any of your pet's needs! I can walk, play, just give love, whatever makes your baby feel the most enriched and happy. I have pet sit for family friends when they attend vacations or work events. I currently work full time Monday-Friday 8 Am-4:30 Pm. About: Dogs and I understand each other. I've always gotten them and they've always gotten me. Maybe because I grew up with three mammoth Samoyeds and Malamutes, and shared my life with Max, my sweet Cavalier, until he passed. Beyond love and care, I'm good at training and socializing, and dogs respond to my calm, confident leadership. I once cared for a reactive dog who barked at everyone who came near her, and I was the only one who could get her to settle and listen. After a month with a young Portuguese Water Dog, her owners told me she moped after I left. But mostly I think dogs feel good around me because they sense I genuinely care about them. I believe dogs are here to teach us to love and I want every dog to experience great care. For me, good dog care starts with getting to know the dog and the people who love them. I think dogs feel safest when their sitter truly knows them. Before any stay, I like to meet you and your dog, take a short walk together, and learn the little things that make your dog feel at home. That's why every stay begins with a meet and greet. What I offer that's different: - Pick-up and drop-off for longer stays: For stays of a week or more, I'll pick up and drop off your dog anywhere within a 30 minute drive of Dalton, including Lenox, Stockbridge, and Great Barrington. One less thing to manage before your trip. My home is calm and quiet, with a large, fully fenced backyard on a peaceful street in Dalton. I work from home, so your dog has company through the day, plus walks, play, and plenty of affection. I follow your instructions to the letter so your dog's routine stays as close to home as possible, and you'll get photos and a quick update every day so you can relax and enjoy your trip. Also happy to reinforce any training your dog is working on like leash manners. How I work: Every new client starts with a meet and greet, about 30 minutes with a short walk together, so your dog and I can meet before the stay. For doggy daycare and boarding: Right now, I dont own any dogs. Your dogs would be the only dogs in my home. When there are dogs in my home, my cats are safely locked away in the basement with their food, toys, water, and playhouses. There will be no interaction. I am currently working part time (remotely) and fully available to care for your pets, play with them, give them all the attention, care, and love they deserve! Morning, afternoon, evening, late night care is well within my timeframe. Caring for your dog: I will only walk on leash - no unleashed care unless within a fully fenced backyard.
