This was only Sadie‘s second time boarding in someone else’s home without me…I learned from my first experience that Sadie does not do great with other pets in the house… and, even though Kari’s was pet free, I was still trepidatious about trying another boarding situation in a strange (to my pup) home. My fears were immediately alleviated upon meeting and seeing Kari interact with Sadie and how she let Sadie explore around her wonderful home. Physical relief was all I felt when I left Sadie with her. Kari kept me informed each day with reports and pictures of what she and Sadie were doing, and I was never worried that Sadie was anxious or anything but completely comfortable. Seriously will make sure that Kari is available anytime I plan anything where I need to leave Sadie with someone for any reason! About: I grew up with animals. As a result, I have had the responsibility of animal care since I was 6 years old. It is a part of my core self. I trained a rescue pit bull in my adult life. Through this process I learned a lot about the psychology of dogs and how to be a responsible dog owner. I had 12 wonderful years with her. I lost her in May and i am missing that canine connection. I am responsible, dependable, and I have a flexible schedule and a calm home. I have a flexible schedule. I work full time but some of that is from home. When I am not, at home, my office is a 7 minute drive away. Well behaved dogs can come to my office me. I have a small home that is primarily one floor. It has a yard (not fenced). I do not have children or other pets. I live a quiet and calm life and I am able to attend to animals with full attention.

About: A lifelong lover of animals of all kinds, I recently moved to the Cape with my 14 year old cat, Anya. I’ve had cats on and off my whole life, and for eleven wonderful years shared my life with a rabbit named Fiona. I have experience caring for special needs (Anya has IBD and Fiona was blind in her later years) and administering medications. I have enjoyed pet sitting for friends and neighbors, and am also a volunteer at a wildlife rescue where I help care for raptors, turtles, snakes, and an absolute queen of a porcupine. While I love dogs, I have less experience with them, so would be better fitted to smaller and/or calmer canines while I get some more experience under my belt. As an overprotective cat mom, I can assure you that I will care for your fur children as if they were my own, will follow your instructions to the letter, and will stay in communication with you so that you can enjoy your time away without worrying about your little ones. I’ve recently moved to the Cape and currently have lots of availability. I can currently not offer overnights, as I have my own fur child to care for, but would love to come for extended visits or walks! I will follow your instructions meticulously. I am used to caring for injured birds, so am extremely conscientious about making sure animals stay safe in their homes and on the leash.

“Debbie took our 2 dogs ( German shorthair pointer and chocolate lab) on nice long walk for two days in a row over the weekend. Debbie arrived on time and communicated with me and followed all of my little tips in a note I left for her. She was even able to switch up the arrival time on the second day as needed. Our pointer has to be crated and Debbie was able to easily access and secure the crate. The same dog is young and strong with a tendency to pull on walks and Debbie was easily able to walk both our dogs together and control them. I would definitely book Debbie again.”

She went above and beyond to make sure my dog was happy and felt comfortable, even hand-feeding him his food when he didn't really want to eat. We're so thankful for her and can't wait to use her again!”

I knew that a facility was not what I wanted and hoped to find a in home setting for him. After speaking to Karen and her daughter, I felt super comfortable with them. I realized they were an hour away but that didn’t matter. I drove up and felt extremely welcomed there when I walked in that door. Winston made himself right at home. I received lots of updates and pictures from Karen. Also, I got EVERYTHING BACK and was all organized as I left it. I am returning in a few weeks and have already booked with Karen again!”

“Total rock star sitter - could not recommend Kari any more highly! This was only Sadie‘s second time boarding in someone else’s home without me…I learned from my first experience that Sadie does not do great with other pets in the house… and, even though Kari’s was pet free, I was still trepidatious about trying another boarding situation in a strange (to my pup) home. My fears were immediately alleviated upon meeting and seeing Kari interact with Sadie and how she let Sadie explore around her wonderful home. Physical relief was all I felt when I left Sadie with her. Kari kept me informed each day with reports and pictures of what she and Sadie were doing, and I was never worried that Sadie was anxious or anything but completely comfortable. Seriously will make sure that Kari is available anytime I plan anything where I need to leave Sadie with someone for any reason! I think my girl had a great time and definitely was very well cared for. Cannot thank Kari and her family enough! ❤️❤️❤️”

“Alyne was a great host for my dog, Bella. When you see how relaxed a dog is after a stay, you know the host treated your dog well, as was the case with Alyne. Bella seemed to get along with her dog, Bruce, which made the stay even better. Bella had lots of room to run around. I would definitely board Bella with Alyne again.”
