About: I grew up raising dogs and cats in my household. Since 2010 I've adopted pets on my own, cats and a dog. I currently have one cat I rescued as a kitten three years ago and a dog who loves to play that I rescued 2 years ago from a shelter. Im a teacher who loves spending time with pets and I enjoy the extra excitement that comes from watching little ones for those who are out of town. I love showering pets with affection and all the care they need to be joyous and safe. I love walks and play time with all my animals. “To say we were satisfied with the care Alyssa gave our little Max would be an understatement. We were camping in New Orleans and had events happening that would take us away from our motorhome for over 9 hours for a few days and did not think it wise to leave our small dog alone for so long so we needed to think of something. So for the first time we turned to the ROVER app. As this would be the first time we left our boy with a stranger we were very concerned but We had a meet and greet ahead of the actual dog sitting and it went so well …. we felt at ease right away with Alyssa and her own dog. About: I've had dogs my entire life. My last pup, Pooka, died a few years ago after living around the world with me for 16 happy years. So I'm an empty nester looking to love on your pets until I'm ready to get one of my own again. I've cared for dogs of all sizes and personalities and even some special needs. I work from home in a sizable house on a flat topped mountain. I already take 1-2 walks during my workday to stretch my legs. Other than that, I'm a huge homebody. About: I've raised a Chihuahua mix (14 yrs/13 lbs) and a German Shepherd (14 yrs/120 lbs) from when they were puppies, but both of my fur babies have gone to doggie heaven… so I’ve decided to help out my fellow pet parents instead of giving in to kitty and puppy fever :) I've also cared for my family and friend's dogs while they were on vacation (Chihuahua, Maltese, Golden Retriever, Yorkie) and have cat sitting experience from my previous clients. Located in the heart of the CBD but open to other parts of the New Orleans metro area based on availability. I'm currently at home most days and am attending grad school online to get my MBA. I'm job searching and am looking to help in the meantime! I still have pet supplies (feeding bowls, leash, shampoo, etc) at my home and enough space for them to run around inside and outside in a fenced-in yard. Your pet would be staying with me in my room, and I have enough space to set up a bed or crate of varying sizes.
