About: I've been pet sitting since college and have cared for dogs with a variety of personalities, ages, and needs. As a medical student, I understand how important it is to have someone dependable caring for your pet while you're away. I have an AKC Canine Good Citizen certified dog who is truly part of my family, and I care for every pet as if they were my own. While I'm not an AKC-certified trainer, I have experience with obedience training and recently fostered and trained a dog from the ground up, helping them build confidence and good manners before finding their forever home. Although I'm not a veterinarian, my medical training has made me comfortable following medication schedules, recognizing when something seems off, and paying close attention to details. I know how important it is to notice changes in behavior, appetite, energy level, or mobility, and I'll always communicate any concerns promptly. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, or simply having someone to cuddle with, my goal is to make them feel safe, loved, and at home while you're away. I am currently on clinical rotations so my schedule changes every 4 weeks. This is something I want to fit in when I have time because pets deserve the world. I will say I’m available unless I can provide your pet my full attention. I have a friendly dog at home who is comfortable with large and small dogs. He is very social. Although I don’t currently have my own yard my appartment had a beautiful dog park! My dog and I go on two walks a day rain or shine. If it’s summer and we go later than 8am I have him wear boots to protect him from hot pavement. I like to practice training with him and taking him to the dog park.

“I got updates on how my boys were doing throughout the week and they came back to me happy and healthy. Kristie asked me about their schedules and how we do things at home so they would be comfortable in their new environment. I would definitely book again for the next time I need to board.”

“Ruby was AMAZING! From the first message I sent her she has made this the easiest process for me. It was my first time using Rover and she was kind enough to help me with the app since it was a little bit of a struggle navigating it. She did a fantastic job taking care of my babies, she went above and beyond! Providing my babies with treats and toys along the way since we just moved and didn’t have much. She communicated every time she stopped by and provided so many pictures of my babies. I would recommend Ruby a 1000 times if I could. Thank you Ruby!”

“Hayley was very transparent and informative while watching our cat. She took a lot of cute photos during her visits and made sure everything was good before she left. I truly appreciate her attention to our cat and the love she has for watching animals. Thank you again so much for watching Freya and bring us the comfort of leaving her in your care.”

“Taylor was very responsive and never hesitated to ask if she had questions. We loved the nightly notifications when she started and ended her visits. The daily photos of our pets gave us peace of mind when we were away.”

About: I live with my chow-mix pups, Cosmo and Gaia, and spend my days working with dogs of all kinds. My experience ranges from playful puppies to strong, high-energy breeds. I’m patient, reliable, and experienced with nervous pups as well. Every dog is unique, and I adapt to their needs so they feel safe, happy, and cared for. I’m mostly available in the mornings! Some afternoons may be open as well, so please check my calendar for exact availability or send a request to discuss scheduling. Before booking boarding or daycare, please check with your vet! I always keep my two pups up to date on their vaccinations. Safety and trust always come first. On walks, I bring extra leashes just in case and carry treats to keep pups happy and focused. I also take photos during our walks so you can see their adventures in real time. For drop-in visits, I follow your routine closely: Feeding, water, play, and potty breaks and always send updates with photos.

“Melanie was great with my dog! She is so very caring and patient. My dog can be very nervous in new environments and she was perfectly at home with Melanie. We'll be booking over night stays for a trip in November.”

About: I’ve been a life long dog lover, and I’ve owned dogs for most of my life! In college, I worked with waterfowl training, obedience training, and agility training for all breeds of dogs. I currently have the MOST dog-friendly Collie named Millie, and she is such a blast. I usually walk her everyday, so I’d love to let your pup tag along as we walk to the dog park and back. If your dog is more of the loner-type, that’s totally fine! I’ll take them on a nice, long, quiet walk of contemplation, so they can ponder about whatever happened to that old squeak toy they haven’t seen in years! And if you’re going away, I’ll be here to walk, play, check-in on or stay, and make sure your furry friends never stray;) I’m currently not working, unless you consider crafting a full-time job! I primarily walk in the mornings and evenings, but once the weather cools off, I’m free pretty much all day for dog walking. I will never walk dogs when it’s dark… my eyes are too bad, and my anxiety’s too high for that! As far as stopping in, If I’m in town, I’ll be free. I can stop in as many times as you need:) I will almost always walk dogs on base at Fort Polk, and if not there, then at Honor Field. When entering clients home, I’m always friendly, inviting, and cautious because I’m in their territory, not mine. I let the dog initiate, take my time, and watch their cues (ears, tail, sounds). I prefer to meet and get associated with a dog at least once with their owner before picking them up or dropping in on them. I always stick to whatever schedule the owner has for their dog, and try to mimic their routine as best as I can. This is usually easier on the dog, and they feel less like “who are you, and why are you here?”

About: I am a huge lover of all animals! I have had a lot of experience with different types of dogs, cats and multiple types of small animals. I grew up with three small Schnauzers, and as an adult I have been the loving owner of a German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois/Labrador mix, and a miniature Australian Shepherd. I also had the pleasure of taking care of an abundance of small animals such as bunnies, exotic birds, ferrets, etc. at a Rescue Ranch for small animals as a teenager. After moving to Fort Polk to be with my husband, I decided to work on a Diploma to become a Certified Medical Assistant, therefore I am home more often than not studying. Recently, I have discovered how much I love going on walks and playing with different kinds of animals. And even though I can’t have every pet in the world, I’m sure I can take great care of your pet. I can’t wait to meet/take care of your fur baby!🩷 I’m currently a full-time student from home, so I have a lot of spare time to manage and care for your pets needs I have a fenced in backyard as well as a large neighborhood to take your pet on a long walk if needed. Plus I love playing fetch and different kinds of enrichment activities with dogs
