About: Hi! I’m a college student with 7+ years of hands-on animal experience, I live in a home with 6 dogs and grew up surrounded by pets my whole life. Dogs and cats have always been a huge part of my life, and I genuinely love giving them attention, care, and comfort while their owners are away. I’m deaf, which has actually made me incredibly observant and attentive with pets. About: I have helped raise a bottle fed kitten and cared for a senior beagle in his last year. I care for and adopt mostly adult dogs, but I haven't met one I don't like! I work from home, so my schedule is flexible to fit in lots of home visits with overnight stay possible! I have my own dog that goes out 3 times a day already, so fitting in pet care is a breeze! About: We have owned dogs since we each were children. Our dogs have been from puppies until they moved across the rainbow bridge. Mostly small to mid size dogs. Misty is home almost all the time. Tom works and is home in the evening. Week days are available with Wednesday evening pick up by 5 PM. Saturday daytime is also fine. Over night stay is available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Special arrangements could be made for Wednesday or Sunday night. We have two dogs who are each 10 years old. They will need to adapt to having other dogs visit. They have crates, and baby gate to separate as needed until all dogs are comfortable. We will give all pets plenty of attention. We have an empty room where visiting pets can spend time. We have a rope tied from tree to tree with dog leashes attached for free exercise and potty time in the yard. This keeps them safe and prevents running away. For overnight care the spare room will be supplies with a soft blanket for a bed.

About: I am a doctoral candidate in Biology at UofL, so you know I'm good at organization and scheduling! I think my time as a graduate student has sharpened my reasoning and communication skills as well. It's also increased my animal handling experience (mice)! I've had pets my whole life, mostly cats and dogs. My most recent pet is an elderly shi tzu with a surprising amount of energy! Apollo is a very skiddish cat, but we've definitely earned each others' trust. I can drop by to check on your pet, take them out for a walk (if weekday, must be before 10am or after 5pm, can be flexible), check on them periodically to feed them, or house sit (weekends only). I am a grad student, so I'm usually busy during weekdays 10am-5pm. Most of my work now is away from the bench, so I can be a little flexible about those hours Weekends are generally open! I love in an apartment that doesn't allow animals so I can't keep any here. I can however watch your furry friend at your house or take them on walks around the neighborhood!

“Rachel is amazing. Not only was she wonderful with our pup and kept us up to date with photos and notes, she helped us out. Our home build got delayed at the last minute and we needed to stay in a hotel. She put us at ease and took our pup in. She is a true blessing.”
