I noticed that every time I used a kennel service for our fur baby, our dog would get so scared, stress shed, nervous/anxiety, she would not eat, different times she caught kennel cough (which meant more vet bills), and our dog was definitely unhappy with the small kennel space surrounded by other upset loud barking pups/dogs/animals! About: I've taken care of both dogs and cats since I was 13 but in the past few years it has gotten more regular. I've cat and dog sat overnight several times and have experience taking care of diabetic cats including having to give them insulin shots twice a day. I’ll be leaving back to college August 14th so I’m available to help out until then! I'm home for the summer before going back to college so I'm pretty available. I work full time during the week (7-3), so after and before work is when I can walk or let out dogs. My weekends are completely free for boarding, walking, and sitting! I can also let dogs out on my lunch break depending on distance. I have 1 dog in my home, he is a sweetheart so no worries there! I also live alone so no issues with roomates or space. I have a yard and a dog park in my neighborhood, but it is not fenced. I pay strict attention to dogs I am watching and make sure they are always happy and healthy, I do not take my eyes off of them! I walk dogs focused with no music or phone distraction to make sure I am ready for anything, and I have handled aggressive dogs often and can adjust when needed. I always clean up if accidents happen, and I leave places better than I found them, always!
About: I've had pet since my earliest memories. On top of caring for pets of my own, including cats, dogs, reptiles, arachnids, and more, I also fostered animals in southern Indiana for 5+ years. Now that I'm in the Cincinnati area I want to find a way to help animals again so I joined Rover! I currently work as a contractor for a delivery company so I choose my own hours, this way I have time to fit in the furry friends. I can come any time, day or night! When caring for pets in someones home I always make sure to have a list of things the pet parents want to make sure is done. I also make sure all cabinets and doors are secure before leaving a room, this way pets can't get into anything they shouldn't. When outside with the pups, I always make sure to keep them on the outside away from the road when walking on sidewalks.
About: I am a very passionate, attentive, and empathetic person when it comes to any and all animals! For many years I have taken sole care of both dogs and cats of all different breeds, and am well experienced in all general pet care to include special needs pets. All of the dogs I ever had as a kid were trained as puppies almost solely by myself and my brothers. My mom used to make me read books and do online research about the breed of dog we had, different training techniques, K9 first-aid, and so much more. Being as passionate as I am about animals, those studies were well retained, and while I don't have professional experience, the knowledge gained from doing it on my own with 9 different dogs over my lifetime have graced me with at the very least, an in depth knowledge of all different stages of dog ownership. This knowledge was also accentuated professionally as I worked alongside military police K9 handlers during my time in the Air Force. Not to worry though, I mix structure, routine, and discipline with plenty of tender loving care, and know how to tune my approach to dogs of all temperaments. In regards to puppies: I have experience potty training, leash training, crate training, and what I would call experienced but moderate obedience training skills. I know how to deal with things like food aggression, how to properly establish the "hierarchy" or "pack mentality" and other conditioning behaviors. As well as handling young puppies, I've even assisted a momma in giving birth to a new litter, and taking special care of a brand new litter of 7 pups! So my experience with all dogs truly does begin at birth and goes all the way to end of life care. For the old timers: The couch potatoes in our lives need just as much, and sometimes even more care than their energetic and young counterparts. I have experience with things like giving medication and shots, managing specialty diets, and a number of other age specific needs. I'm very patient and am willing to take the time to get to know your pet and what they need. Every animal has a different personality and needs attention in different ways, and I'm very attentive to that! I will always treat your pet as if they were my own, and will to the best of my ability make sure that your pet is well taken care of at all times. I'm a full-time nomad and side gigs are my primary source of income. Pet care IS my weekly routine. I'm available and more than happy to abide by the normal 9-5 schedule for daytime pet care, but I can also easily adjust to fit any alternate schedule; whether you need overnight pet care, or any other odd schedule constraints met, I am available. I have lived with my own dog in a variety of different conditions. From being on our own in both houses and apartments, to having a full house of dogs and cats. I am well versed in any additional responsibilities and special care based on living situations, and have no trouble go up and down a few flights of stairs for potty breaks/walks, etc.
About: My name is Emily. I work full time in public service and I am a dog mom to a Golden Doodle named Rudy. I have 4+ years of working in animal care from working in shelters, as a veterinary assistant, and have cared for my neighbor's pets when needed. I am able to administer medications and care for any pets that have special needs due to having experienced working in both small and large animal clinics. I will treat your fur baby like my own! I currently have availability on week days in the evening and weekends all day. In the summer from end of June to mid - July I will have all day availability as well. My dog Rudy is very friendly and can accompany on visits if permitted or requested. I have a park close to my house and can commute to any area for a needed walk.
