About: I’ve had a dog most of my life, but I’ve owned Cavaliers for 15 years. I’ve cared for multiple dogs (and cats) at one time. I prefer to care for dogs in your home. I can also care for fish, chickens and do general housekeeping. I reside in El Dorado, but for the last year, I have been substitute teaching in the Wichita metro area. Therefore, I do have some flexibility in my schedule at this point. I’m able to do potty runs during the day provided the distance allows it. I prefer to care for pets in my client’s home so that the dogs are used to their normal environment and routine. If needed, I can care for a single small-medium sized dog in my home, although the dog must be comfortable being on a leash as I do not have a fenced yard. Also, I am not a smoker or drinker.

Bear is almost 14 years old and not interested in playing, but he got along well with Veronica’s gentle dog, who Veronica carefully introduced to him. He likes to be with people, and he was so comfortable with Veronica that he relaxed at my feet when she and I chatted, instead of pulling me out the door. Veronica was very careful to help Bear negotiate around her house, as he doesn’t see well, and she was clever in making sure he could safely go out. About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. Back in 2014, I had two ferrets, and they were such a joy—full of energy and personality! Since 2019, I’ve had my long-haired Dachshund, Chestnut, who’s been my constant companion. Taking care of him has taught me a lot about the needs of small dogs, from grooming to keeping up with their energy. I’ve also helped out friends by pet-sitting over the years. I watched a cat for a friend for several months, making sure they were fed, played with, and given plenty of attention. I’ve also dog-sitted, with the longest stay being a full month. About: I learned everything I know about pet-care at the vet I worked with many years ago. There my love and passion for animal…especially dogs… grew. It was also there that I learned cats are not my favorite. 🥴 Though I learned a lot from my time working at the vet, I realized that seeing animals suffering or in pain was not something I could do on a daily basis. About: I have done rescue work for dogs. I actually have two dogs of my own one. I saved from the Humane Society and one I saved for a rescue who is going to be put to sleep for no reason. About: Hi! I have taken care of animals since I was a young child. I grew up taking care of a German Shepard and two cats. When I was a teenager I was the primary caretaker for my cat. From age 16-20 I volunteered at two animal shelters working with horses, farm animals, dogs and cats.
