About: A dog has always been in my house growing up, except when I moved to lawrence to go to school/work. I learned to take care of dogs since I could walk. My first dog was a German Shepard. I learned how to brush, clean, feed, and exercise around 6 years old and have loved dogs ever since. From middle school until now I had a side gig of watching extended family/ friends dogs for the weekends, so I have worked with all types of dogs such as pit bulls, labs, Rottweilers, shorthairs, boxers, huskies, and I also have experience with small dog breeds such as pugs, terrors, mini poodles, and chihuahuas. So don’t worry about what breed of dog you have I am open to all kinds!
“Petra took great of my pup! From the pictures she sent it was like doggy summer camp! They went on lots of walks and adventures, and he was tuckered out in the best way when we got home!”

About: I’ve always loved animals and enjoy spending time caring for them. I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, playtime, cleaning, administering medication, and giving pets plenty of love and attention . I’m dependable, gentle, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs and personality. I do have a full time job. I work from 7am-3pm Tuesday-Saturday and off Sundays and Mondays. My wife works from home so there will always be someone here to take care of any pet needs. I have a cozy three bedroom house with a fenced in back yard. Plenty of room for them to run around and play. I love to go on walks and enjoy the outdoors. If they have any favorite spots to go or favorite toys to play with we'll play. Or any special instructions just let me know. I only take one client at a time, if you have more than one pet that's perfectly fine. I also send text updates pictures and video's of your pets care while your away.
“Davon was very friendly and accommodating. He made sure our girl had everything she needed to be comfortable, and took great care of her. She didn't want to leave, haha! If we're in the area again, we'll definitely choose them again for boarding or pet sitting.”

“Marilyn was amazing with our 3 dogs. Going to her beautiful property was like a vacation for them as well! She truly loves dogs and it shows. We drove out of our way to take them to her and would 100% do it again. Without a doubt, the best sitter we’ve used through Rover.”

“This is my third time booking with Valentine! She does a great job ensuring the comfortability of my cat! My cat is usually shy but is always quick to warm up to Valentine. Valentine does also does a great job communicating and keeping you updated!”

“Wonderful! Our dog Eevee enjoyed her stay and felt right at home. The owners of Hugh’s and Hounds were so friendly and did everything to make her stay great! Good communication, went above and beyond! Highly recommend and will use them again if we need to board.”

“Justine did an amazing job caring for our Pepperoni while we were gone! She made sure to send photos and a small paragraph describing everything they did that evening. It was great to know someone cared as much for our sweet girl as we did! Will definitely book her again for any future trips!”

About: I treasure gaining a cat’s trust. We all know it’s not always easy to open up to new people; but with time, patience, and lot of slow blinks and treats I’m here to bring your feline friend around to the idea.

“Nadia is amazing! She always asks if my pet has any new needs or concerns before each booking. She is reliable and prompt and great at communicating any issues that arise. She makes sure all my cats get some loving even though I only need her to take care of and administer medication to one of them.”

About: I come from a farm happy family and managed a doggy daycare, with extensive work in animal rescue. I have dealt with just about any animal you can imagine. Dogs, cats, horses, goats, guinea pigs, fish, snakes, birds, etc. Both of my pets have passed away but I have more love to give. I love animals and am just looking to fill some of my free time and earn a little extra cash. My lab has since passed due to old age in 2019 and I said goodbye to my golden in July 2025. I do work M-F and would be out of the home from roughly 7:15-5:00pm depending on your location, my office is near the state capitol. I work full time for a nonprofit in Topeka, so I am out of the house from 715am-5pm. I love going on walks and being outside before and after work! On the weekends aside from some errands I would be around. I do have the ability to work remotely as needed, so this is an option if your pet(s) need more time and attention. I take animal safety very seriously, especially after managing a doggy daycare, things can be unpredictable. I take extreme caution, and pay attention to all the signs your pet is giving me along with your requests to ensure they have a fun, safe time while in my care.
About: I am married and have two daughters and a son. They are 12, 8, and 5. I have a wonderful German Shepherd, an Alaskan Klee Kai, and a 20 pound cat named Karen. We love caring for other animals. We have a big yard so there’s plenty of room to run.! I can come to your home or board in ours. We are very active individuals. Both my husband and I are runners. Just let me know if you have anymore questions and I would be more than willing to answer them! We are very flexible with our schedules. My husband works full-time, but I drive for Uber so I can make my own schedule when needed. We try to stay as active as possible and play with pets in the home. We have a German shepherd that loves the extra play time!

“Hi guys. I feel like you all did a great job. You took O' Malley for 10 days and let him do his thing and be comfortable in his own way. Thank you! The only thing I would have liked more of is communication. Both times I had to reach out to you for check ins. Good luck with your pet sitting!!!”
About: Since childhood, I have enjoyed the companionship of dogs. The first family pet I knew for nearly its entire lifetime was our rescue beagle my family adopted when I was about 8 years old. I have pet sat in the past, both overnight/in-home sitting, in addition to drop in visits to feed and let dogs outside for potty time. I have experience caring for senior pets, adults and puppies. I am available to care for your pets during weekday late mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends, and for overnight stays with your pet(s) as well. I am comfortable crating dogs if necessary and I have some experience caring for dogs with special needs, more specifically senior dogs that have mobility challenges.
About: Hello! Fun Fact: If given the choice, I’d probably spend time with animals over people. 😊 I’ve had dogs and cats my entire life and caring for them is something I genuinely love. As a pet owner myself, I know every pet has their own personality and routine and I treat each one like family. I’m experienced in administering medications, including injections and diabetic care, and I’ve completed obedience training with my own dog, so I’m happy to reinforce good habits using positive encouragement. Since I own my own business, my schedule is flexible, allowing me to work around your pet’s routine. Whether they need playtime, walks, cuddles, or a little extra patience, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. Structure and consistency are important! And because of that I strive to stick to your pet’s normal routine as much as possible. Whether that means feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, cuddles, administering medications, or simply providing companionship, I tailor my care to each pet’s individual needs. I also respect your home, keep everything clean and secure, so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

“This is the 2nd year I've had my dog cared for by Kelsey & family during an extended visit to Topeka. I couldn't be happier, knowing that she's in such good & loving hands and making new friends when she's there. I'm so grateful and we look forward to continued bookings whenever we're in the area!”

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was our first time using their service, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We reached out at the last minute while moving into our new place, and they were kind enough to make themselves available when we really needed the help. She, her husband, and their daughter were all extremely kind and welcoming. They took wonderful care of our dog and sent us plenty of pictures and updates throughout the stay, which really gave us peace of mind during a very busy moving day. You could tell from the updates and photos that they genuinely cared about our dog and treated him like part of their family. We are extremely thankful for how accommodating and caring they were, especially on such short notice. We will definitely be using them again in the future! I would highly recommend their services to anyone in the Topeka, Kansas area looking for someone dependable, caring, and trustworthy to take care of their dog. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats for years. Experienced with puppies, seniors, feeding routines, walks, playtime, and providing safe, reliable, loving care for all pets. As a college student-athlete , I have a flexible schedule. I’m available mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends, allowing consistent care, walks, feeding, and quality attention. I follow all care instructions carefully, keep pets supervised, secure doors and leashes, maintain clean spaces, and provide updates so owners feel confident and trusted.

“Our third review and keeps with same energy: COCOA LOVES COMING HERE! We thoroughly trust Brandin and his spouse Diane with our baby girl's overall experience. We ain't going anywhere else!”

About: Hello!! My name is Maisy. I have worked in various different animal related jobs for the last 5 years, I worked at a doggie daycare/boarding facility and I currently am a dog trainer. I have experience with both puppies and elderly dog as well as cats, reptiles, birds, and farm animals. I also am open to limited contact boarding for people reacting dogs and can do crate rotation for dog reactive dogs away from mine. I work in the evenings 4 days a week so I spend the mornings/afternoons out playing with the pups then they take naps in kennels while I’m at work and we play some more when I get home. I also can move my dogs kennels out of the “dog room” and your dog can just stay in there instead of a kennel if they are more comfortable that way. I have 5 dogs that are very active and friendly. I have a fenced in yard the dogs love to run around in and inside we have lots of toys and comfy places to take naps (which will be put up if there are problems). If I’m not at home or at night all dogs will be kenneled for safety.
About: I’ve grown up with dogs back home my personal favorite were my wiener dogs. I’ll treat them just like my niece or nephew. I’ve been a house sitter looking after dogs for some of my colleagues and family.I also got a two puppers of my own Just leave the dogs schedule and requirements and I’ll do exactly that. I also have a background in medical training as a hospital corpsman in case of any emergencies. I’m a Veteran going to college so My schedule is pretty flexible these days. I have a pretty good routine with my dogs so extra dogs are no problem. My dogs already have a set schedule, they love to play in the backyard, and love walks and pup cones! My house has plenty of rooms and easy access through the doggy door to the back yard. And a lot of room around the house. It’s a pet loving home, some could say the run the house ❣️
About: I have been a professional trainer, handler and groomer for over a decade, providing excellent care for dogs, cats and other pets of all ages, sizes and care needs. I am also available for livestock care, with over two decades of experience with horses, cattle and most other hoofstock and flocks. I offer these services full time, so no need to worry about another job conflicting with your pet’s needs while in my care. I am able to devote my schedule to them. For my in home services, I have a yard that is set up with individual fenced areas, as well as having 4.5 acres that will soon be fully fenced in! For those bigger dogs who want to be able to run and stretch their legs more.I have two of my own dogs as well, as company for those who would enjoy a playmate. We do crate all guests for bedtime and meals. This ensures everyone can eat at their own pace, and in a safe environment. Same for bedtime. While we understand that your pet may sleep loose at home, we typically have guests from multiple households. Safety is our #1 priority and we don’t want to risk an issue overnight.
About: Located on 10 acres in rural Hoyt, Kansas, Hughes & Hounds provides a spacious safe haven for your furry family members. Our set-up, previously used for dog breeding, includes two (working on three) spacious backyard pens that are the full package deal, including: big shade trees, big water bowls, a doggie igloo and free doggie treats (if you approve of course!). Please note that our dog daycare and boarding services are OUTDOOR ONLY and really for farm/outside dogs, bigger dogs, or dogs with high energy. We will accept any sized dog as long as they’re used to staying outside during the day! With two young kids in the home, we will only bring your dogs inside if the owner provides a crate and only if requested for night time (with the exception of severe weather where they would be crated indoors as well). I work a few afternoons a week, so I will be able to check on your furry pals often during their week & weekend stays with us. We are flexible and want to make sure your wishes are heard. So if you want us to play with your dogs, send you pictures, give treats - we are here for it. But if your dog prefers to not be bothered too much and is good with the essentials - we are here for that too. You tell us how we can provide the most comfortable atmosphere for your dogs. As far as experience goes, I've been a dog sitter on and off from elementary school through college and have volunteered lots of hours to our local shelter.... I love dogs and they're in good hands! :) This is a NEW and fun business adventure for our small family and we do not take it lightly! Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions-we will respond promptly. I only work a few afternoons a week, and my husband gets home before me during those days, so there’s only about 3-4 hour stretches of time we would be gone during the week. Due to this, we feel confident that we can take good care of your dog(s) while they stay here. Since we have the space we thought "why not?" when it came to the idea of dog boarding. We were not using our back 3 pens, other than allowing our dogs to roam them. There were some escape artists when the pens were originally used for breeding, so safety features include covered corners so dogs are unable to climb up and out using the corner fencing. Cement was also laid around the boundaries of the pens so digging cannot occur. If your dog likes to jump fences that would be a concern and a reason why we may not be a good fit for you. Of course, plenty of cold, fresh water will always be available to your dog(s) during their stay.

About: I have done drop in visits, farm sitting, dog grooming, equine care, and taken care of many animals. I have at least 10 references. Love all the animals and will treat them with love and respect. I own a mobile dog grooming business so can make my own schedule. I have my farm animals but I have help from family to care for mine when I’m needed elsewhere. I prefer to let the animals be in their own home as they seem less stressed knowing they will be where there family will be coming back to. They have their comfortable spots and smells and doesn’t disrupt their routine but if necessary I could care for them at my home. Would walk smaller dogs on leash outside or have outdoor pens for larger dogs to get to run.

About: I grew up with dogs and cats, took care of them and have a great passion for animals. I’ve had my own pets since 2007 (2 cats and a dog). Since 2020 I have fostered animals for a local shelter including dogs, puppies as young as 6 months, and kittens as young as 5 weeks. I have basic experience in dog training. I’m currently working on a part-time contract basis so my schedule is very flexible and I would love to help you care for your pet(s). I am available daily with a set schedule to accommodate your needs. I am an experienced foster of dogs and kittens. I have a dedicated space (spare bedroom) to keep any animals separate from mine, but if they are dog and cat friendly they could be free roaming in the house when I am home. I have a cable for supervised potty time in the yard. I am experienced with crate training. I am clean and professional, respecting your space and routines in your home.

“Madison did so well with our energetic 6 month old GSD mix! He can be energetic and she went above and beyond to get him the playtime and exercise he needed. This included walks and playing fetch outside, among other things. He came home a very happy pup!”

About: I grew up on the family farm surrounded by dogs and cats and all kinds of animals - caring for them was part of my life. That lifelong connection led me to volunteer at a local dog and cat shelter where I've gained even more experience with pets of all temperaments and needs. I treat every animal like a family and I willl give your pet loving care whether it's for a quick walk or an overnight stay. I have a very flexible schedule so I can fully prioritize pet care. My days naturally revolve around the animals I am caring for and I enjoy creating routine that suits their needs. My home, farm in the woods, is a dog paradise where they can relax, go for walks or play. In client's home, I'm respectful of their space and routines, I communicate with the owner, send updates and make sure the pet has all my attention.

“Steve is wonderful with my little guy Fitz! He texts me updates and pictures throughout the day and is super flexible and willing to go the extra mile (especially when work emergencies come up).”

About: I have had dogs in my home for almost my whole life. I have a pug, golden retriever, and a mutt that are all a couple years apart in age. For two years, I volunteered at a humane society where I walked and cared for dogs of all kinds. Senior, puppy, sick, I have a lot of experience and I would love to get more! I’m currently working at a golf course near Forest Lake. My schedule for work comes out weekly, so I’m unaware what my weeks look like well in advance. I don’t like to do this, but if your pups are able to be home for about 6-8, then this would be a great fit! Obviously I wouldn’t work every day of the week, so I will be available to give them my full attention. Your pups are my priority and I wouldn’t want them to feel uncomfortable with my wack work schedule in any way. My shifts will either be 6-2 or 2-9, or shorter. I prioritize respect for your space and routines. Whether your pet prefers potty breaks in a fenced yard or leashed walks, I’ll follow your preferences to keep them comfortable and safe.
“Regan was amazing with my puppy. She sent me multiple updates throughout the days, fed my dog, took her potty, played, etc.. while I was at work. I plan on using her again :)”

About: Taking care of your pets is my top priority and making sure you get back to a happy dog. I’ve dog sat and cat sat for neighbors, family friends and friends of my own. I always have a lot of energy and I enjoy being around dogs and playing with them and walking them. I’m always making sure I’m on top of things to make sure everything that needs to be done is done and all the requirements are fulfilled. Pets always do a good job at comforting and making us happy, so I want to make sure I do the same and give back to them. I’ll treat your furry friends as they were my own with love and care and a lot of playtime. I also do house keeping and anything else you need help with around the house or errands.

When my own pup was diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy, I dedicated myself to giving him the best care, and ultimately, the best life possible. Pets are beloved members of the family and I promise to love and care for your pets as if they are my own. I welcome all shapes, sizes, and abilities. I provide boarding and house sitting services. Whichever you choose, please know that your pet will be given the best care and so much love! I find that pets are generally more comfortable in their own space. I am happy to visit yours! My schedule is quite flexible and I am open to long-term set schedules or the occasional drop-in. I try my best to keep my calendar updated. About: "If you can look at a dog and not feel vicarious excitement and affection, you must be a cat." ~Terri Guillemets Love dogs (and animals in general, but dogs especially.) I have been around them my whole life and wouldn't want it any other way. I come from a large, mostly rural dwelling family, my grandma had 11 kids 2/3 of which have at least 1 or more dog(s) including my mom. I've always had my own and/or lived with roommates/friends/family, that have/had dog(s) in every house I've lived from day 1 to the present. Although I can't say I've taken care of every breed out there (doubt that many people can) I have definitely seen my fair share of mutts and purebreds alike; from Corgis to Chihuahuas, Danes to Dobermans, Lhasa Apsos to Shar Peis, and even a couple of wolves (3/4 mixes) as well as a few rodents, cats, reptiles, arachnid and birds. Big or small I love "em all, but if you forced me to pick a favorite I'd have to go with the affectionate yet intimidating Perro de Presa Canario. In short, if either by choice or necessity you find yourself in need of a caretaker for your 4-legged (or more) companion(s), know that I would be elated for the opportunity and you can be assured that their health and well-being will invariably be at the forefront of my mind in all that I do while they're in my care. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to hearing from you soon. "Lots of people talk to animals.... Not very many listen, though.... That's the problem." ~Benjamin Hoff, The Tao of Pooh

“Tamber was attentive and informative during Miles' first stay. We loved her daily reports and concerns that Miles was as comfortable as possible while in her home. Thank you Tamber so much for everything. You are a gift.”

“Cheryl was great! I was worried Daisy might not get along with the other dogs but Cheryl assured me they'd be fine and they were. Within an hour I had a picture from her of them playing in the backyard. She sent texts and photos every day and I was very relieved (I'm an over anxious dog mom). Highly recommend Cheryl. Will definitely use her again.”
