About: I’ve been around animals all my life and feel very comfortable with them. Growing up, I would help with caring for the family pets. I would clean up after them, walk them, feed/water them, kennel train/potty train, and play with them. I’ve grown up with mostly cats and dogs, but I am not opposed to caring for other pets. I am very much of an animal lover but currently don’t have a pet of my own, so I would love to be the caretaker of one of your sweet pets! I am a full-time stay at home mom. My schedule can be very flexible. I have a 1 year old who takes two naps a day which allows me to give appropriate care and attention to the pets that are in my care. About: A dog has always been in my house growing up, except when I moved to lawrence to go to school/work. I learned to take care of dogs since I could walk. My first dog was a German Shepard. I learned how to brush, clean, feed, and exercise around 6 years old and have loved dogs ever since. From middle school until now I had a side gig of watching extended family/ friends dogs for the weekends, so I have worked with all types of dogs such as pit bulls, labs, Rottweilers, shorthairs, boxers, huskies, and I also have experience with small dog breeds such as pugs, terrors, mini poodles, and chihuahuas. I have been around them my whole life and wouldn't want it any other way. I come from a large, mostly rural dwelling family, my grandma had 11 kids 2/3 of which have at least 1 or more dog(s) including my mom. I've always had my own and/or lived with roommates/friends/family, that have/had dog(s) in every house I've lived from day 1 to the present. Although I can't say I've taken care of every breed out there (doubt that many people can) I have definitely seen my fair share of mutts and purebreds alike; from Corgis to Chihuahuas, Danes to Dobermans, Lhasa Apsos to Shar Peis, and even a couple of wolves (3/4 mixes) as well as a few rodents, cats, reptiles, arachnid and birds. Big or small I love "em all, but if you forced me to pick a favorite I'd have to go with the affectionate yet intimidating Perro de Presa Canario. In short, if either by choice or necessity you find yourself in need of a caretaker for your 4-legged (or more) companion(s), know that I would be elated for the opportunity and you can be assured that their health and well-being will invariably be at the forefront of my mind in all that I do while they're in my care. About: Located on 10 acres in rural Hoyt, Kansas, Hughes & Hounds provides a spacious safe haven for your furry family members. Our set-up, previously used for dog breeding, includes two (working on three) spacious backyard pens that are the full package deal, including: big shade trees, big water bowls, a doggie igloo and free doggie treats (if you approve of course!). Please note that our dog daycare and boarding services are OUTDOOR ONLY and really for farm/outside dogs, bigger dogs, or dogs with high energy. We will accept any sized dog as long as they’re used to staying outside during the day! With two young kids in the home, we will only bring your dogs inside if the owner provides a crate and only if requested for night time (with the exception of severe weather where they would be crated indoors as well). I work a few afternoons a week, so I will be able to check on your furry pals often during their week & weekend stays with us. We are flexible and want to make sure your wishes are heard. So if you want us to play with your dogs, send you pictures, give treats - we are here for it. But if your dog prefers to not be bothered too much and is good with the essentials - we are here for that too. You tell us how we can provide the most comfortable atmosphere for your dogs. As far as experience goes, I've been a dog sitter on and off from elementary school through college and have volunteered lots of hours to our local shelter.... I love dogs and they're in good hands! :) This is a NEW and fun business adventure for our small family and we do not take it lightly! Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions-we will respond promptly. I only work a few afternoons a week, and my husband gets home before me during those days, so there’s only about 3-4 hour stretches of time we would be gone during the week. Due to this, we feel confident that we can take good care of your dog(s) while they stay here. Since we have the space we thought "why not?" when it came to the idea of dog boarding. We were not using our back 3 pens, other than allowing our dogs to roam them. There were some escape artists when the pens were originally used for breeding, so safety features include covered corners so dogs are unable to climb up and out using the corner fencing. Cement was also laid around the boundaries of the pens so digging cannot occur. If your dog likes to jump fences that would be a concern and a reason why we may not be a good fit for you. Of course, plenty of cold, fresh water will always be available to your dog(s) during their stay.

About: Hello!! My name is Maisy. I have worked in various different animal related jobs for the last 5 years, I worked at a doggie daycare/boarding facility and I currently am a dog trainer. I have experience with both puppies and elderly dog as well as cats, reptiles, birds, and farm animals. I also am open to limited contact boarding for people reacting dogs and can do crate rotation for dog reactive dogs away from mine. I work in the evenings 4 days a week so I spend the mornings/afternoons out playing with the pups then they take naps in kennels while I’m at work and we play some more when I get home. I also can move my dogs kennels out of the “dog room” and your dog can just stay in there instead of a kennel if they are more comfortable that way. I have 5 dogs that are very active and friendly. I have a fenced in yard the dogs love to run around in and inside we have lots of toys and comfy places to take naps (which will be put up if there are problems). If I’m not at home or at night all dogs will be kenneled for safety.

About: I have been a professional trainer, handler and groomer for over a decade, providing excellent care for dogs, cats and other pets of all ages, sizes and care needs. I am also available for livestock care, with over two decades of experience with horses, cattle and most other hoofstock and flocks. I offer these services full time, so no need to worry about another job conflicting with your pet’s needs while in my care. I am able to devote my schedule to them. For my in home services, I have a yard that is set up with individual fenced areas, as well as having 4.5 acres that will soon be fully fenced in! For those bigger dogs who want to be able to run and stretch their legs more.I have two of my own dogs as well, as company for those who would enjoy a playmate. We do crate all guests for bedtime and meals. This ensures everyone can eat at their own pace, and in a safe environment. Same for bedtime. While we understand that your pet may sleep loose at home, we typically have guests from multiple households. Safety is our #1 priority and we don’t want to risk an issue overnight.

I prefer to let the animals be in their own home as they seem less stressed knowing they will be where there family will be coming back to. They have their comfortable spots and smells and doesn’t disrupt their routine but if necessary I could care for them at my home. I have experience giving insulin shots to dogs and I am good at hiding medicine in treats. I am very flexible and can often show up at any time of the day! For late night checks and overnights I ask for a minimum of 8 hour notice. I currently only provide services in the client's home or walks. From middle school until now I had a side gig of watching extended family/ friends dogs for the weekends, so I have worked with all types of dogs such as pit bulls, labs, Rottweilers, shorthairs, boxers, huskies, and I also have experience with small dog breeds such as pugs, terrors, mini poodles, and chihuahuas. So don’t worry about what breed of dog you have I am open to all kinds!
About: I offer a loving, playful, and safe environment, and pay attention to needs of our pets with walks and outside playtime. We take frequent walks at the park nearby for extra exercise. I am home on weekends and take frequent walks and outdoor time with my 2 year old Bernedoodle. She loves to play with other dogs and very friendly. I have a large fenced in backyard for plenty of outdoor time and potty breaks. Nice home with plenty of space for pet relaxation and downtime. Feeding schedule determined by you.
