“This was our first experience with Rover and therefore our first experience with Sam. We just have to say we could not be more pleased. We were visiting in Hutchinson, KS and our dog Elmer stayed overnight with Sam, his roommate and Trapper, a high energy, playful and very friendly dog. The two dogs meshed well wonderfully and got “lots of exercise” and play time. This was Elmer’s first night away from us as he is a recent adoptee and apparently he didn’t seem to miss us one bit. About: I've been a volunteer at Caring Hands Humane Society for 4+ years, and in January of 2022 I raised a litter of 6 Pomsky puppies! I have a 4+ year old orange Siberian Husky, and I've grown up with a couple family dogs, so I've always been around animals and want to pursue an animal related career! I'm currently working a part time job, and I would love to take your dog for a walk, play with them, or simply keep them company while you're away! I'm available 9am - 9pm Mon, Wed, Thu, but am somewhat flexible on weekends for house sitting. I have a fenced backyard and 2 energetic Siberian Huskies that are very friendly and play well with new dogs; I take them to the Newton dog park often and they absolutely love it! I can provide a crate for a medium - large dog if needed/requested. My dog sleeps in my room with an open crate so she can sleep in her crate or just on the floor. About: I currently work as a zookeeper and have years of wild and domestic animal experience. Working with wild animals means I have a much deeper understanding of animal husbandry, psychology, and behavior that allows me to provide better care for your pet! I'm especially comfortable around and handling large dogs due to the nature of my job. Professionally, I have cared for a variety of wild animals including large cats like lions, tigers, and leopards, dolphins, seals and sea lions, and several canid species. That being said, I'm able to provide a deeper level of personalized care. I currently work 5 days a week, usually Wednesday-Sunday. On my weekend, I'm home all day. On my workdays, I'm able to leave during lunch to provide dogs with potty breaks. There is a dog park within walking distance of my apartment that I bring my dogs to every morning and evening. I do also have a dog potty set up inside my apartment just in case a dog can't wait for me to get home. I provide this because I personally wouldn't make myself hold it, so I would never force a dog to do the same. I provide a very safe, relaxing environment where your dog will be treated like family. I approach care with a proactive approach, rather than reactive. This means I always keep a close eye on individual pet behavior as subtle cues can indicate how a pet is feeling at a given moment. Many pet owners miss out on these cues, especially if they aren't trained to look for them. Overall, this means I try my best to create a safe environment for and trusting bond with any animal I work with via positive reinforcement and never push past an individual's limits.

About: I grew up with large and small dogs and cats. Around 5 years ago I learned to care for an elderly mostly blind, and def dog who had seizures up until she passed. I am fairly strong so if needed I can carry animals up and down stares or just in general if needed. I work great with elderly dogs especially ones who need extra care. I do have experience administering medication orally if needed and I am very patient. Wile I’m great with older dogs I also grew up with puppies because one of our other dogs had multiple litters and we cared for them. I do online schooling and have a class every Saturday from 1 to 5. I also work a few days a week from around 4 to 10pm. In my opinion you know what’s best for your dog so I will always follow your rules. About: I've been taking care of pets for family, friends, and neighbors for years. I grew up around dogs and have yet to meet one that doesn't like me. Through the years, I've taken care of all types of dogs and cats; from young, crazy pups to old, sick dogs and from ornery mostly outdoor cats to snuggly kitties that want to use me as a bed. My other job is remote, so my schedule is very flexible for whatever your pet may need. Weekends or weekdays doesn't make much of a difference. The dog is so cat friendly that she annoys some cats by trying to convince them to play. My yard is fenced, but there is currently a damaged section that has been covered with temporary plastic fencing. The damage will be repaired soon and until then, I don't let anyone out there without supervision. For house sitting or drop-ins, I treat your pets the way I would want mine treated. I also try to match any routines your pet might be used to, if it's eating at a certain time or always being let out at a certain time, just let me know and I'll make sure to keep things as familiar as possible for your furry friends.
About: Me and dogs get eachother. I’ve worked at a human society for 3 years. I have 2 dogs and every dog I come in contact with loves me. It fits in more than taking care of myself. Dogs should be treated better than any human being. Dogs are perfect and deserve the world. Like they are little humans. About: Hi there! :) My name is Ashley! I have a love and passion for working and caring with animals, especially dogs, and people! A little about me: I am 26. I have two awesome little ones, as well as four furry ones. Our furry kiddos are our two German Shepherds, Riley and Atlas, and our two cats Artemis and Merlin. I have owned and worked with animals since I was a little girl. I was always bringing home animals that I found, wanting to help them find their homes or seeing if we could be their new one. When I was 11, I started babysitting the neighbors and family friends kids and pets. My first dog was named after one of my toy horses as a little girl, named Sand Dune. He was a Labrador and Collie mix. He helped further my love of working with animals and people. My relationship with him was one of the first things that helped steer me towards a career path of veterinary medicine/working extensively with animals. As he got older, he became very sick and we soon learned that he had cancer. I saw how the people in the veterinary field helped him, helped us, what they did and how they did it, all really struck a cord within me. Not long after I changed my school path from human nursing to animal nursing. I started school at PIMA Medical Institute in Colorado Springs, CO. in January 2014. I finished the program in December 2014 with a 3.8 GPA. When I finished school I went to work at an animal hospital in Colorado Springs. Currently I work at home as a Health and Fitness Coach, as well as my work through Rover. In my spare time I love to spend time with my family. We love to do anything outdoors. Regular hikes and trail walks with the kiddos (all 4 of them) are one of our "must-do's"! Indoors we are big PC gamers, and run a D&D campaign at our house on the weekend! If your pup has has any special needs that he/she needs to have met, you can be rest assured that they will be taken care of. I'm able to administer medicine both orally and injected. I understand the necessity and importance for medicine to be administered on time and correctly. I am familiar with specific diets (allergy diets, the RAW diet). I am trained in Animal CPR. I am very flexible with hours, and am available both during the day and at night. When we talk about me coming to visit, we will talk about the needs of your pup , expectations, any questions that you may have to make sure that you are more than comfortable. I have a smart phone, and can be reached at any time. I am more than happy to provide pictures and/or videos, as well as updates, while I am there visiting! About: I have taken care of all sorts of animals from dogs to bunnies since the age of 12 and have enjoyed it so much! I am a teacher during the school year, so my summers are pretty open to live on your fur babies! I am a teacher, so my availability is a wide range in the summer. “This was our first experience with Rover and therefore our first experience with Sam. We just have to say we could not be more pleased. We were visiting in Hutchinson, KS and our dog Elmer stayed overnight with Sam, his roommate and Trapper, a high energy, playful and very friendly dog. The two dogs meshed well wonderfully and got “lots of exercise” and play time. This was Elmer’s first night away from us as he is a recent adoptee and apparently he didn’t seem to miss us one bit. Sam was great about sending frequent updates and pictures while hosting Elmer which really helped alleviate any concerns we had.
