“Michelle was so amazing, it warmed my heart to know someone was actually giving my cat love and attention as much as I would because that’s usually a pet owners biggest fear. I was out of the country for around two weeks and worried about my cat because she tends to be a little shy and scared of new people and typically i only know how to deal with her. Michelle was perfect !! letting my cat slowly warm up to her presence visit by visit. She would send photos every visit and that was very reassuring, she would play with my cat and feed her and cuddle with gigi. I would get photos of gigi playing, running, and cuddling which is not her norm for when she meets new people so i was very happy with that.There wasn’t a moment where I was worried about my gigi. Michelle is so nice and compassionate and sweet and it shows because my gigi warmed up to her, she responds to messages and updates me where i felt reassured and comfortable, I could not be happier that i found her to take care of my cat and i was honestly lucky to have her as my pet sitter.I would definitely choose her again over anyone if I ever had to leave my cat again but in general with any animal because she actually cares.”

About: About 50 years ago when I was 12 years old, I met a scruffy dog while I was out playing. It was immediate Love. I led the dog home and proceeded to beg my parents if I could keep the dog. Unfortunately, they said no and they didn't even want it in the house. That night it rained and I stayed out there with the dog while we took harbor under the back deck stairs. I named him Pal. The next day, a friend down the street was allowed to take Pal into their family and he stayed with him until he went to heaven. Pal played a very important role in my life. I realized my passion for animals. Also after that, my family began to appreciate animals becoming a part of our family. Years later after I purchased my own home, I came across another homeless dog. I took him in and with my vet, we nursed him back to health. From that point on, I always had at least 3 dogs in my home and usually a cat too. I have cared for many animals from family members, friends and coworker. In hindsight, I have cared for more than 30 animals in my life. In the last 25 years, I have worked as an in-home provider for children. I was also the primary family caregiver for my mother when she returned home from the assisted living facility after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and needed to be brought home before her passing. I was also primary family caregiver for my father when he moved in with me and my daughter due to complications with diabetes and dementia before his passing. I am divorced and live alone, I am home 95% of the time and I rarely travel. I am available everyday of the week throughout summer because I have to be here for my child care and my animals. I have been doing in-home childcare/preschool for 25+ years. Due to my passion for dogs, I have joined Rover to provide care and boarding for dogs. The family room is now mostly dedicated for the dogs. The floor is padded, they can get on the 3 couches and chairs and there are several beds on the floor for their comfort. They have access to see out the back windows and out the back doorway. I have a large backyard that has been divided with a fence. There is the small yard dedicated for the children and a much larger area for the dogs. It is large enough for running and throwing balls - The back fence in both areas is open enough for the dogs to see and chase the school kids and trucks as they go by. My dogs favor the fire trucks and emergency vehicles that go by which is pretty often since the station is right down the street. They will usually stand out at the fence howling with the alarms as those vehicles go by. I scoop daily and I have the yard sprayed regularly for fleas, ticks and mosquitoes.

About: I’ve owned pets all my life and have house sitting and pet sitting for over 5 years. I’ve always had a strong love for animals and cannot wait to meet your pets! As a vet assistant in school to be a veterinary technician, I am able to provide extra experience on administering medications, senior care, special needs pets, house breaking puppies, basic obedience training, and so much more! I cannot wait to meet your pets and provide the best care for them while you are away. I currently do not work a set schedule, but I usually work 3-4 days a week sometime between Monday through Friday, from 7AM-6PM. For walks and other adventures, I will always keep your dog leashed and close to me. I love to take dogs out on excursions to parks, trails, and other such places! Of course, I will always check with you first to make sure that we don't go somewhere your dog doesn't enjoy. I have three adult dogs (all ~45lbs) and a cat in my home. The cat is dog-friendly, but also is able to be kept entirely separate from your dog if needed. My dogs are all 100% dog-friendly, have good play manners, and are also able to be neutral around/ignore other dogs when told. They are very patient with young puppies as well! And if your pup isn't one for new friends, don't worry - they can be kept totally separate on request, and your dog will still get plenty of one-on-one playtime & snuggles with me. It is 100% up to you if your pup has any interaction with other dogs (or the cat). Full separation is possible, but if you'd like your dog to make some furry friends, I am happy to safely facilitate that! All interactions between your dog and other pets will be of limited time and monitored - the dogs will never be alone together. For safety and management reasons, I cannot accept boarding bookings for dogs that are not able to be comfortable in a crate (or pen, for small dogs only). Have other questions or concerns? About: I’ve been apart of rover for 5 years now, and my experience in pet sitting proceeds that for 10+. I love pets and have a very flexible schedule. I am freshly back to the area after college graduation so I will be around for the near future with lots of free time. My work schedule is 8-4:30pm M-F so I will be out of the home during those times, with availability to stop in for a visit around lunch time. I am energetic and willing to work with you to give you the most peace of mind as possible as you go on your trips! I work full time 8-4:30 Monday-Friday with special cases on holidays. I am available any time outside of those hours and short period in the middle of the day to drop in during my lunch hour. We’re typically here most weekends but do go out of town every now and then, so just keep an eye on my calendar and I will do my best to keep it updated. I have been around dogs my entire life and can't imagine my life without one (or two)! They are an extension of my family and are treated as such. Rest-assured, your dogs will be loved here and get to play with our 12 year old Terrier and our 7 year old Austrian Pinscher. We have a large fenced yard and LOTS of toys and nearby trails where I'll take our dogs and yours for walks several times a day. I do allow pets on furniture and to sleep in our bed if that's what they're used to. If your dog plays well with others they will fit in perfectly here! I’m currently working from home 2 days a week so typically always home during those days to care for your pups! They will get lots of outdoor breaks and at least one walk while I’m home. We treat your dog(s) like our own. They’re allowed on our furniture and can sleep in it beds if that’s what they’re used to. We also have a large fenced yard for plenty of bathroom breaks and exercise.
About: Hi, I’m Sarah! I’m 18 years old and have loved animals for as long as I can remember. I grew up with both dogs and cats, and I currently have four dogs of my own, so I’ve always been surrounded by animals. I work at a dog daycare in Lawrence, where I care for dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages, and personalities. I supervise playgroups, feed dogs, give medications when needed, and make sure they’re safe and having a good time. Working there has given me experience with all kinds of dogs and taught me how important it is to pay attention to each pet’s individual needs. About: I grew up taking care of puppies and rescues with my mom, and then moved into helping at a shelter while I was in college. As a grad student and current renter, I can’t have pets of my own so am glad to have the chance to get some cuddles in with yours. I'm happy to work with dogs of all ages and sizes and follow direction well if you are working with any training techniques. I have a soft spot for older dogs in particular and am also happy to look after any plants. I currently attend KU as a grad student where I teach two days a week and am focused on finishing my thesis this semester. I have a fairly flexible schedule and so can maintain a consistent routine for most pets while you’re gone. I’ve traveled a lot and been fortunate to be a guest in many people’s home. I pride myself on being respectful and leaving a house at least as good as I found it. I also try to prioritize pet comfort since I'm a guest in their home too. I try to let them lead interactions so they have a chance to warm up on their own level. I'm also happy to respect household rules and uphold the boundaries the pets are used to (ie., if they're not allowed on certain furniture). If you have any plants that need care while you're away, I love leaning into my green thumb too.

About: I've had 3 golden retrievers while I was growing up and helped taking care of them everyday. Our one golden had puppies and I helped out a lot with them. Now, I occasionally watch my boyfriends black lab because I miss having my own dog. I work a 9-5 during the week but I am not usually very busy on weekends and would love to meet and take care of some new pups! I love to go on walks with dogs and make sure they are well exercised everyday. I will make sure to keep your pet on the correct feeding/potty schedule.
