I’m comfortable with feeding, walks, playtime, cleaning, administering medication, and giving pets plenty of love and attention . I’m dependable, gentle, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs and personality. I do have a full time job. I work from 7am-3pm Tuesday-Saturday and off Sundays and Mondays. My wife works from home so there will always be someone here to take care of any pet needs. I have a cozy three bedroom house with a fenced in back yard. Plenty of room for them to run around and play. I love to go on walks and enjoy the outdoors. If they have any favorite spots to go or favorite toys to play with we'll play. Or any special instructions just let me know. I only take one client at a time, if you have more than one pet that's perfectly fine. I also send text updates pictures and video's of your pets care while your away.

About: A dog has always been in my house growing up, except when I moved to lawrence to go to school/work. I learned to take care of dogs since I could walk. My first dog was a German Shepard. I learned how to brush, clean, feed, and exercise around 6 years old and have loved dogs ever since. From middle school until now I had a side gig of watching extended family/ friends dogs for the weekends, so I have worked with all types of dogs such as pit bulls, labs, Rottweilers, shorthairs, boxers, huskies, and I also have experience with small dog breeds such as pugs, terrors, mini poodles, and chihuahuas. So don’t worry about what breed of dog you have I am open to all kinds!
About: My name is Patrick, my family has owned 6 dogs all from when they were puppies, I love dogs and will care for yours as if they are my own. I will walk with the dogs (run if requested) currently I have two dogs marlow and mimi one suffers from epilepsy so I know what to do if there are any problems with the dog or dogs. I can brush and groom dogs, I previously had a husky so I am used to shedding. My dogs love to go on walks, when I walk them I usually avoid taking the same route so they can have new smells and it seems to be more enjoyable for them. About: Located on 10 acres in rural Hoyt, Kansas, Hughes & Hounds provides a spacious safe haven for your furry family members. Our set-up, previously used for dog breeding, includes two (working on three) spacious backyard pens that are the full package deal, including: big shade trees, big water bowls, a doggie igloo and free doggie treats (if you approve of course!). Please note that our dog daycare and boarding services are OUTDOOR ONLY and really for farm/outside dogs, bigger dogs, or dogs with high energy. We will accept any sized dog as long as they’re used to staying outside during the day! With two young kids in the home, we will only bring your dogs inside if the owner provides a crate and only if requested for night time (with the exception of severe weather where they would be crated indoors as well). I work a few afternoons a week, so I will be able to check on your furry pals often during their week & weekend stays with us. We are flexible and want to make sure your wishes are heard. So if you want us to play with your dogs, send you pictures, give treats - we are here for it. But if your dog prefers to not be bothered too much and is good with the essentials - we are here for that too. You tell us how we can provide the most comfortable atmosphere for your dogs. As far as experience goes, I've been a dog sitter on and off from elementary school through college and have volunteered lots of hours to our local shelter.... I love dogs and they're in good hands! :) This is a NEW and fun business adventure for our small family and we do not take it lightly! Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions-we will respond promptly. I only work a few afternoons a week, and my husband gets home before me during those days, so there’s only about 3-4 hour stretches of time we would be gone during the week. Due to this, we feel confident that we can take good care of your dog(s) while they stay here. Since we have the space we thought "why not?" when it came to the idea of dog boarding. We were not using our back 3 pens, other than allowing our dogs to roam them. There were some escape artists when the pens were originally used for breeding, so safety features include covered corners so dogs are unable to climb up and out using the corner fencing. Cement was also laid around the boundaries of the pens so digging cannot occur. If your dog likes to jump fences that would be a concern and a reason why we may not be a good fit for you. Of course, plenty of cold, fresh water will always be available to your dog(s) during their stay.
About: I have always enjoyed interacting with animals from a young age. From catching snakes to saving stray cats and dogs. I have many years experience working with animals and I have enjoyed working with a few animal rescues. I am not intimidated by breed or size. I enjoy high energy dogs or Netflix and chill dogs.
