I am a previous dog owner. My animals were not only my pets, but they were my family. I had my Labrador for 13 years and my Boxer mix for 15 years. We used to love to take long strolls around the neighborhood and visit our pals at the local dog park. We would cook dinner and lounge around watching our favorite flicks. We even took car rides around town when we got bored. Over the years, we went through everything from crazy puppy phases, to professional command/leash training, and experienced all medical scares (labs love to chew on EVERYTHING) under the sun. Maple was a diabetic for 7 years. I can assist with any type of need ranging from long walks, simple belly rubs, to training help. I am highly experienced in administering topical, oral and injectable medications, as well as eye and ear medications. My senior pets care needs helped build my knowledge in senior dogs. About: I have had many dogs since I was a kid. As an adult, I have had 5 dogs over the years. They have always been adopted from a shelter or rescue group, plus one dog from an elderly friend. I have adopted 2 puppies and the others were several years old when they were adopted. I love their companionship. I walk our current dog as many days/week as possible. She is my travel buddy! I have crate-trained the puppies and provided as much love and care as possible for our senior dogs, including providing medication. My animals are my children and are very spoiled! I'm currently unemployed so available pretty much any time to care for animals. Once I find a full-time job, my schedule may change a bit but if my job is remote then I would have a lot of flexibility to care for the animals. I have a fairly large fenced yard for running and playing. Trees for observing the squirrels! There are 2 outside cats that do not really mind other dogs. My dog has done very well with other dogs as long as they are not aggressive or too big. I also live in a nice neighborhood where dogs can be walked, including a nice, wooded area with a great trail for walking. I also live close to Eagle Creek park where dogs could be walked.
About: I’ve been watching dogs since I was about 8, I’ve been responsible for bathing, giving medicine and making sure they are well loved while owners are away. I specifically love the ability to care for the furry ones you love when you cannot devote the time needed or wanted for them! I am currently in nursing school so my schedule can be wonky some weeks, but my usual availability is 1-6 most weekdays and usually between 8AM and 9:00 PM on weekends! I have a Malshi (Maltese shihtzu mix) he plays mostly In our backyard as well as with my neighbors German Shepard, we live on a 1 acre plot.
About: I have had a Newfoundland for the last 8 years, he is back at home with my parents. I also just recently got a golden retriever/australian shepherd mix who is now 6 months old! I have always loved animals, especially dogs and I would love to get the opportunity to work with you and your dogs. It would also provide excellent socialization skills with my dog now. I don't have a lot of experience with small dogs, but I am more than willing to walk them and play with them. Since my dog is a large breed, I am more comfortable having medium and large+ breeds around him. He is very gentle and loves to play. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!
