“MacKenzie & Jacob own 4 cats (no dogs but they sometimes board them) and clearly love animals. My 2 sibling kittens were born feral on my farm and when Mama disappeared, I had to take them in. Did not intend to keep them but these kitties had different plans. I am in the process of training them to spend more time indoors, and interact with other humans and animals. How lucky that I found MacKenzie on Rover. My kitties had their own space (spare bedroom) where I set up their familiar bedding, litter box, food, scratch post, etc. I started with a 24 hour stay and will prob try a few more days before taking a longer trip later this year. MacKenzie sent me regular updates. One kitty was slightly braver, exploring her surrounding. They both allowed MacKenzie and Jacob to pet them (although they admit they were shaking, which is no surprise) and they ate (not much) and used the litter box, but barely left the bedroom. MacKenzie & Jacob put them in their carriers minutes before I arrived (the cats only slightly resisted they said) and brought them downstairs with all of their belongings & helped me load it all up. I am very much looking forward to having my kitties spend more time with these two wonderful cat sitters - even when I don’t need a sitter - bc I want them to get more human and kitty interaction and I believe MacKenzie and Jacob’s home is the ideal environment. They are lovely, kind-hearted sitters who will give my babies the love and patience they need to become less feral and become the 2 house cats I need them to be.”

About: I grew up on a farm with many animals. As a child, I had pet sheep, rabbits, dogs, cats, and cows. As an adult, I have always had cats. My 20 year old long hair cat just passed away in January. It was heartbreaking. I miss him dearly. We loved our guy so much. In his last 5 yrs, I spent many hours catering to his elderly issues. Medications and night yowling were issues that I happily took care of as he lived out his twilight years. I have a soft spot for all animals as they go through all stages of life :) I work from home and set my own hours, so my schedule is extremely flexible. I am open to many kinds of arrangements- one time sitting, a weekly routine, daily walks, weekends, etc. I am extremely fortunate to have a flexible schedule. My teen daughter and I live in a large 4 bedroom home, so we have tons of space to accommodate furry friends who need company. We do not have a fenced in yard, but our neighborhood is great for long walks. Our neighborhood has trails through the woods and a home owner’s association that maintains the trails. We have lots of fun walking the trails. I am an avid jogger/walker. I go out everyday, regardless of the weather. I have a very active lifestyle! We recently adopted a cat, but he stays in his own area on a different level of the house. He has claimed my daughter as his and lives in her room. When dogs come to stay with us, he typically stays in his room & pups never see him, although he has made friends with some of our regularly visiting pups 😊 I have a very flexible work schedule. About: I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes & personalities. I’m not shy to specialized care needs and love to play, walk & give belly rubs! Services include drop in dog walks and play sessions and overnight pet sitting for short or long terms. I’ve cared for two large fluffy dogs with special needs for two months at a time. I also looked after a high energy chihuahua for three weeks, routinely walking three or four times a day to burn some extra energy! I work full time in Bloomington from 9-6, Monday - Friday. Walks will take place as late as 8am or earlier, during lunch break if you’re home is within 15 miles of Bloomington, and after 6:30 pm on weekdays. Weekends are flexible and I am comfortable transporting the dogs to a dog park or swimming spot if they do well on field trips! I’m more of a homebody and love to play and interact with animals in their home. Your house rules & pet care needs will be met with respect and understanding. Your dog’s boundaries, safety and needs will be prioritized. I appreciate cleanliness and will respect your home as if it’s my own.

About: I have 2dogs of my own and just adore them to pieces and plan to go back to foster/rescue dogs in the future. I once had 4 dogs but 2 of them got older and had to cross the rainbow 🌈 bridge. I am currently a SAHM i have pretty flexibility other than having to take my son to and from pre school. So depending on the time I might have my son with me or my daycare kiddo with me. About: I have been a dog lover since the day I was born! I have a BSc in Veterinary Technology, have been a US Army Veterinary Technician for 20 years working with Military and Law Enforcement working dogs and have a huge passion for canine enrichment and fitness 🐕❣️ I am a full time student pursuing my Master's in Clinical Care, but don't let that discourage you! I have excellent time management skills, and can very easily balance lifestyle and education. I am also still in the Reserves, meaning one weekend out of each month, I won't be available to hang out with your sweet fur-babies 😭 Otherwise, I am wide available! I do have 5 dogs of my own and a fully fenced yard. However, they are a solid pack and can be a little unpredictable when introducing new friends. Because of this, my main goal is to take your fur-babies on walks and get them some exercise and enrichment, rather than have them over for play time.

About: I have been fortunate enough to gain years of experience working with animals in both a shelter and medical setting. I am well trained in various routes of medicine administration as a result and love every dog I meet. I just want to be able to make a difference for the pets and their families within my community. I do currently work a full time schedule as a veterinary technician, and study part time, so I generally have a rather busy schedule. I am well-disciplined, however, and manage my time around all of my commitments appropriately, and your furry friends hold a high priority for me. I can prepare for overnight duties and have flexible enough time in the mornings and evenings, and could feasibly do drop-in care over the noon hour. My weekends are generally clear! About: I’ve always been an animal lover since I was little. Throughout college I have done all sorts of pet/house sitting for friends, family, coworkers etc. I have house sat for a family friend that required feeding and watering horses, milking goats, reptile care, rabbit cleaning care, medicating cats/dogs if needed, you name it. I currently have a Corn Snake, a Western Plains Hognose Snake as well as a Crested Gecko. I have been a Veterinary Receptionist for over 5 and a half years now. I was also an Animal Keeper for about a year with native Illinois Wildlife (including black bears, cougars & bobcats). I am currently transitioning to being a Veterinary Assistant so I am gaining new skills weekly! Currently working a max of 30 hours at my day job as a Veterinary Assistant but recently have been working less. Typically I have Sundays and Wednesdays off during the week but sometimes get another random week day off depending on how busy we are at the clinic. My shifts can vary from 8am to 2pm; 8am to 4pm; 9am to 3pm; 9am to 5pm or even 8am to 6:30pm. The earlier I’m off during the day I am able to help after that too. Your home is their home. I will cater to your pet based on what they like or need. If they just need someone to keep them company I’m there. I will treat your space with respect and follow any instructions given. My pets are family and are treated as such so the same would go for your kiddos.
About: I have been in the veterinary/boarding field for about 8 years. So I have experience working with all sorts of animals (different sizes, ages, and behavior). I can administer any medicines comfortably. I have taken care of cats, dogs, rabbits, small pets (Guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets, etc.), birds, fish, farm animals (goats, chickens, ect.) and frogs. I am also comfortable doing baths, nail trims, and teeth brushing if interested. I currently have three cats and two chihuahuas. I have always loved animals and I am eager to meet so many new clients and their pets! This is a dream of mine and so glad it is becoming a reality. “As a first-time Rover user and a nervous dog mom, I was hesitant to leave Banjo with anyone, especially since we just adopted him from a shelter. However, Jenelle completely exceeded my expectations. She was incredibly thoughtful and even suggested a meet-and-greet before the stay to make sure Banjo would be comfortable. She showed such patience and care with him, especially since he’s a shy and nervous dog.
