“MacKenzie & Jacob own 4 cats (no dogs but they sometimes board them) and clearly love animals. My 2 sibling kittens were born feral on my farm and when Mama disappeared, I had to take them in. Did not intend to keep them but these kitties had different plans. I am in the process of training them to spend more time indoors, and interact with other humans and animals. How lucky that I found MacKenzie on Rover. My kitties had their own space (spare bedroom) where I set up their familiar bedding, litter box, food, scratch post, etc. I started with a 24 hour stay and will prob try a few more days before taking a longer trip later this year. MacKenzie sent me regular updates. One kitty was slightly braver, exploring her surrounding. They both allowed MacKenzie and Jacob to pet them (although they admit they were shaking, which is no surprise) and they ate (not much) and used the litter box, but barely left the bedroom. MacKenzie & Jacob put them in their carriers minutes before I arrived (the cats only slightly resisted they said) and brought them downstairs with all of their belongings & helped me load it all up. I am very much looking forward to having my kitties spend more time with these two wonderful cat sitters - even when I don’t need a sitter - bc I want them to get more human and kitty interaction and I believe MacKenzie and Jacob’s home is the ideal environment. They are lovely, kind-hearted sitters who will give my babies the love and patience they need to become less feral and become the 2 house cats I need them to be.”

About: Lots of places for a cat to hide, sun bathe, or jump around to higher spaces. My most impressive skill i had obtained while having my own cat, was getting her potty trained. We do have all cat essentials, but if your cat prefers specific please be sure to bring that. Any questions please ask.
About: I have three kids, one young adult and one teenager and one still in elementary school and they ALL have SO much love to give and are all experienced in pet caring as well. I always joke about how my children love animals more than humans and my girls are “animal whisperers”. We LOVE animals and have lots of care and cuddles to give each and every one. And we have all at times even saved both cats and dogs that were lost roaming around! It’s been such an amazing experience. My middle child one year for her birthday used her birthday money to gift the humane society with items for the animals there and we all used to go spend time with the animals there and volunteer for them as well I work Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. I have the ability to care for along walk dogs in the morning before work, or over my hour lunch break, and also after work and in the evening and in the weekends, even Sundays after church I have a fenced yard myself at home, however at other people’s homes I will not let their pet out without being on a secured leash

If they are unfamiliar with a dog door, I will train them. Litter box cleaned daily. And in the morning and evening some love and play time. I have a fenced in yard, dog door ( that locks) shelves and hiding spots for cats. I had made this an oasis for my cat and dog while they were still with us. Our free time is spent at the cat cafe, and the humane society. We will go walk the dogs there or play with the cats at both places. Any animal in need of love and attention, we are thrilled to provide it. Our dog passed of cancer 3 years ago and needed to be put down as it had spread and she was in terrible pain. It was a slow, and hard for to let go A year ago, our cat had this disease, and she became immobile immediately and was in chronic pain. It was such a quick loss. So I have been a little hesitant to bring another animal in full time. However, all animals are welcome and we look forward to building a safe spot for you and your pet while you are away.

Walks will take place as late as 8am or earlier, during lunch break if you’re home is within 15 miles of Bloomington, and after 6:30 pm on weekdays. Weekends are flexible and I am comfortable transporting the dogs to a dog park or swimming spot if they do well on field trips! I’m more of a homebody and love to play and interact with animals in their home. Your house rules & pet care needs will be met with respect and understanding. Your dog’s boundaries, safety and needs will be prioritized. I appreciate cleanliness and will respect your home as if it’s my own.

Friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed, and play with their pets and I can watch animals at my house or stop in to yours to take care of your beloved pets!
