I currently live on a farm in Makanda with my partner, where we share our home with horses, chickens, ducks, pigs, rabbits, five friendly farm dogs, and two farm cats. Our animals are well-socialized and love meeting new furry friends and people alike. Your pets will have plenty of space to play and explore, with a fenced backyard and lots of open acreage to enjoy safely. “OMG! Ashlyn is a Godsend! The worst happened while I was away…my water heater blew up and flooded my laundry room, including filling both litter boxes to the top w/water! Huge mess!!! Ashlyn not only cleaned everything up, safely tucked my anxious kitties away for the night in an extra bathroom but waited on my maitenance people to show up and take over. I CANT imagine what I would’ve done without her!!! And she handled the whole situation as if it happens to her every visit- super positive energy! 5 STARS is not nearly enough for Ashlyn!!! About: I grew up around animals of all kinds- from dogs to iguanas to chickens. At 18 I got my own place and rescued 2 puppies. Fast forward 2 years, I fostered 2 new pups- ended up keeping 1 and gifting my parents with the other. I can take your dog for walks, to the park, hiking, check on them at home.. Whatever you’re comfortable with! I have such a deep passion for working with animals and I will nurture yours as if they were my own. About: I've been a caretaker of dogs, cats, parrots, rats, rabbits, reptiles, horses, emus, pigs, goats, sheep, waterfowl, poultry and wildlife for over 20 years. I worked professionally at a boarding facility for years. I have knowledge in training and behavior for a variety of spieces. I'm experienced in administering medications to about any animal you could think of. I have a Pomeranian and Bichon Frisé Shih Tzu that I love to groom myself as a hobby. So if you wanted to discuss a possible hair cut for your dog during his/her stay, I'd be open to that! I wanted to add, I've been away from Rover since Oct. 2022. I'm back on as of Jan. 4th 2026. I only work away from home 3 days a week, for 4 hours at a time, and it's 7 minutes down the road from my house. Allowing me to spend most of my time at home with your pets! On the days I'm gone for a few hours, my husband is home. I have multiple different fenced in areas for exercise and safe potty brakes. Ranging from 4ft high fencing, all the way up to 8ft high fencing (assuming they wouldn't mind a few emus or goats walking around). I can accommodate the snuggly dogs that can't bear to be left alone long and also anti-social/more difficult dogs who just needs a place to stay and it's difficult to find options for. I have several "Retriever" kennel panels and can build either outdoor kennels with dig proof wire floor or indoor kennels in my walk-out basement (if requested).

About: I’ve had pet dogs my entire life. My beloved childhood dog was a German Shepard named Stella, and the dog I had from my late childhood till recently was my soul dog, a Shih Tzu named Daisy. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a special interest in dog! The Westminster Dog Show is my SuperBowl! I love to learn about specifics of dog breeds and what makes them special/stand apart from the other breeds! I’ve been walking dogs since I was 14 for people around my neighborhood but stopped when schooling became more demanding. It’s something I’ve always loved and I’m ready to get back into!
