My cats have had vaccines for rabies and FVRCP. My dog has had vaccines for rabies, canine influenza bivalent (H3N2 and H3N8), distemper, parvo, bordetella, leptospirosis, and lyme disease. While I do not expect you to have all of these for your animals too, I do prefer that your animals are vaccinated for at least rabies and distemper for both dogs and cats as well as bordetella for dogs. Vaccines are very important for the safety, health, and well-being of all of our animals. For similar reasons, for boarding and/or day care, you MUST provide your cage/crate for your animals.

I have two very friendly Australian Shepherd type dogs, an 12 year old human child, a husband and a cat of my own. (Somehow we all get along!) Your fur baby will have the comfort of lots of friends nearby if they come to stay with us. I do require dogs to be up to date on all vaccinations, dog & cat friendly and kennel trained if boarding with me. (So during quiet times they have a familiar, safe and secure place for them to go if they're feeling overwhelmed, or if I need to separate anyone for any reason. I also believe it's simply safer for the dog in case of an emergency.) All animals are allowed on the furniture and often I will find myself snuggling on the couch with the babies. My family also has knowledge on animal care and handling so your fur baby will be under the best care no matter who is in the room. When stopping in I will spend 30 or 60 minutes with your pet baby (depending on your choice: there is a up charge for 60 minutes) feeding, watering, playing, pottying and walking. When choosing the 60 minutes I will also do basic obedience and manners training with your dog. I could try with cats but I can't guarantee my results. I also love pet photography so taking photos of your babies will be a free service offered along with their stay or stop ins. This will NOT be guaranteed every time.
About: I have taken care of dogs since I was around 5 years old. I have experience giving dogs pills, being consistent with training processes, and with senior dog care. I have also taken care of cats. I’m able to take care of dogs and cats in the mornings and evenings during the week and all day on weekends and holidays. I am a homebody so once I get done with work during the day, I am not leaving and play with my animals. I have a fenced in yard with a very friendly dog and cat. If needed, I have a room where I can separate my cat from other dogs to allow non-cat friendly dogs to stay. This room has his food, water, bed, toys, and litter box, while also being one I spend a large amount of time in so he is not lonely. My dog is fed once in the morning and is allowed to eat when he wants to and he runs outside in the backyard when he feels like it. I do adjust how often he gets fed and if he is free feeding when other animals are present. In clients' homes, I follow feeding and care instructions.

I'm also a responsible house sitter, having been both a homeowner and a renter, I understand the value of not just your pets, but your possessions, your mail and plants, the cozy space of your home, the relationships with your neighbors. I have provided these services for friends and families for most of my life. I have always loved animals and I have always owned pets, been a member of dog parks and puppy play groups, and I volunteered for the Champaign Humane Society for many years. I have also had pets with medication needs, so I am experienced in that area. For years I also groomed my own dogs, and I know that each pet has its own needs, preferences, and personalities. Finally, I recently lost my dog of 15 years, and although I now live somewhere that does not allow pets, I need animals in my life! About: I would love to meet your fur babies. I'm retired from 35 yrs as a Social Worker. Now, I can pet sit full time. Call or text with any questions or to book my services! I'm able to come to your home while you're away! Whether you're working extra long hours or away on vacation, I can watch your pets when you are gone from home. I only watch pets in their home environments. This is less stressful/traumatic on pets, than a kennel stay. Also, your pet will avoid getting diseases from the other animals at kennel. About: I have spent my entire life caring for animals. Throughout my life I have had many animals from birds and Guinea pigs to cats and dogs. Koda, my youngest dog was completely trained by me in German commands. Working with dogs to learn new things is one of my favorite things to do. My cats have had vaccines for rabies and FVRCP. My dog has had vaccines for rabies, canine influenza bivalent (H3N2 and H3N8), distemper, parvo, bordetella, leptospirosis, and lyme disease. While I do not expect you to have all of these for your animals too, I do prefer that your animals are vaccinated for at least rabies and distemper for both dogs and cats as well as bordetella for dogs. Vaccines are very important for the safety, health, and well-being of all of our animals. For similar reasons, for boarding and/or day care, you MUST provide your cage/crate for your animals.
