“family 3 times now, and have had a great experience each and every time. They are the first people that we have ever had watch him, and to be honest we’re pretty nervous about it. We even scheduled an overnight for him to try it out, on a night when we were not even going anywhere, so that we could make sure he did ok and that we were comfortable leaving him in their hands Lisa and Russ (her husband) are so friendly and from the moment we drove up the first time, they made us and Nico feel welcome. They showed us around and introduced Nico to their two dogs one at a time, making sure they got along and didn’t overwhelm each other. By the time we left, I don’t think Nico even noticed, because he was having such a blast. Lisa is great about sending updates and photos of his stay, and always has a fun story about his stay when we come back to pick him up. While it’s never easy to leave your pup in the hands of others, we feel very grateful to have found a great home away from home for Nico when we can be with him!”

About: We have had a dog or dogs for over 20 years. My husband and I both grew up with dogs as well. Our two dogs have been with us since they were puppies and both of them attended three levels of dog training classes. I work part-time very early in the morning and we spend a lot of time at home because my kids are homeschooled. There is usually always someone at home. I will do as much as I can to accommodate the dog owner’s preference in care for their dog. We have two dogs that can play with your dog. If your dog needs to be in a crate I can accommodate that. Our dogs are not allowed on the couches and chairs but my children do let them sleep in their beds.

Madison handled it like a pro, she seeked guidance from the vet who confirmed what seemed to be happening. She adjusted his food intake to help him keep food down and made some other changes which fixed the problem! Goose, their dog, was a wonderful big brother to Cooper and they all gave him love like he was their own. Cooper was taken on lovely walks on trails and to the dog park and Goose also shared his antlers with Coop which is now his favorite thing to chew! We were very happy with the care given to our crazy little kid and Madison went over and beyond!”

“Our 15 month old Maltipoo had never spent a night apart from us and had limited interaction with other dogs. We had a need for an overnight stay and decided to try Rover which led us to Emily and Thomas as they lived close by. We are so very thankful that we found them! They spent three days in a week leading up to the stay having Charlie come over for walks and spent time inside their place trying to get him used to a new environment. About: I have grown up on a farm where I have acquired most of my skills and knowledge of animals. At a very young age I started training and showing dogs in obedience, which soon led into me showing horses in jumping and dressage. I attended Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre in West Virginia where I achieved many certifications. Now, 32, I still train and show dogs and also still stuck on those horses! About: I've been a dog owner for 20 years. Over the last 10 years, friends, family and neighbors have entrusted me with taking care of their dogs. 2 years ago, I took on the venture of fostering dogs in my home. My experience with them has been with puppies through adult dogs. Special needs dogs are welcome too, as I have experience with dogs with seizure disorder and other chronic issues. During the time the foster dogs are in my care, I work to establish a routine, learn basic commands and household manners. I work from home Monday-Friday. My pets (and fosters) stay in my office with me when I working. I am able to care for your pets during my breaks, lunchtime and after hours. My weekends can be a bit more busy, but I can be flexible in working with your needs. I have a small fenced in yard for the dogs to stretch their legs, enjoy the outdoors, and of course relieve themselves. Indoors, I do have crates available if your dogs needs some alone, quiet time. My dogs have their own room to offer a safe space for them. The dogs are never left unattended to ensure they don't get into something they are not suppose to. If watching the dog in your home, I will follow any instructions that you give to ensure your dog's safety and happiness.

About: I have had animals my whole life. This past May, I was lucky enough to retire from 33+ years of teaching. Since 2022, I have volunteered at Tails Animal Shelter walking dogs. Last year, we had to say goodbye to our 16 year old dog, and I miss having animals in the house. While I am not ready to get a new dog, I am very excited to take care of other's dogs like they were my own. Whether it is your pet coming to our house or me going to your home, I cannot wait to keep your furry friend company. Communication is a key issue for me. I worried about my dog all the time. I find a way to alleviate that is to send pictures often. Because I am retired, I would be able to be with pets most of the day. I would let them out every couple of hours - more if needed. I can follow any schedule for feeding. I am really flexible and would be able to accommodate most schedules. I would make sure to keep a close eye on your dog while we were hanging out together. Dogs are definitely allowed on furniture (unless you prefer they not be). I can put a dog in a crate if that is comfortable for them as well. Our yard is not fenced, but it is a large yard in the woods. I can also take dogs for walk around our neighborhood or to the riverwalk in downtown Dixon. We also have a property about 15 miles south of Dixon with 80 acres and a pond, so a trip there could be fun as well.
“I scheduled a meet and greet with Chris and Dan and they were so wonderful and patient with my 14 year old Weimaraner Ozzie. They are knowledgable with dog behavior and their 2 German Sheppards are very well behaved. After meeting Chris and Dan I felt comfortable booking a 4 day stay. Recently Ozzie spent a few hours at Chris and Dan's home so he could become a little more familiar with them and their dogs before his 4 day stay. They made sure Ozzie was comfortable and I am confident that Ozzie will be in great hands whenever he spends time with them.”

“family 3 times now, and have had a great experience each and every time. They are the first people that we have ever had watch him, and to be honest we’re pretty nervous about it. We even scheduled an overnight for him to try it out, on a night when we were not even going anywhere, so that we could make sure he did ok and that we were comfortable leaving him in their hands Lisa and Russ (her husband) are so friendly and from the moment we drove up the first time, they made us and Nico feel welcome. They showed us around and introduced Nico to their two dogs one at a time, making sure they got along and didn’t overwhelm each other. By the time we left, I don’t think Nico even noticed, because he was having such a blast. Lisa is great about sending updates and photos of his stay, and always has a fun story about his stay when we come back to pick him up. While it’s never easy to leave your pup in the hands of others, we feel very grateful to have found a great home away from home for Nico when we can be with him!”

About: We have had a dog or dogs for over 20 years. My husband and I both grew up with dogs as well. Our two dogs have been with us since they were puppies and both of them attended three levels of dog training classes. I work part-time very early in the morning and we spend a lot of time at home because my kids are homeschooled. There is usually always someone at home. I will do as much as I can to accommodate the dog owner’s preference in care for their dog. We have two dogs that can play with your dog. If your dog needs to be in a crate I can accommodate that. Our dogs are not allowed on the couches and chairs but my children do let them sleep in their beds.
