“I can confidently say that I found a sitter that I have wanted for a long time - someone who is responsible, caring, and responsive. I could easily tell that Amita and her family are good people who genuinely care about animals and dogs that visit for boarding. She sent me pictures of Teddy (my dog's name) every day with long messages on how he is doing, where he slept, and what he is up to at the moment. Also, one of the most important criteria for me was whether a sitter has enough space for Teddy to run around and enjoy time with a sitter and/or other dogs. Amita's place was HUGE with a fenced yard, and all of her dogs were extremely friendly, not only to people (as in me) but also to Teddy. I highly recommend Amita for those who have dogs that like playing with others, taking a walk, and swimming (Amita's place had a small pond where dogs could play). I have tried many dog sitters, whether on Rover or through friends. As much as I love my dog, I had so many instances in which I could easily notice red flags (e.g., Teddy coming back sick with his own diarrhea on his leg (meaning that the sitter did not even care to clean his legs), sending pictures for the first couple of days and going silent, not wanting to share the exact location of the boarding place, etc). Amita has been the best so far among many I have experienced! Highly recommend!”

“Highly recommend! Thank you Brandi for stepping in last minute and saving the day by watching our two pooches. Your willingness to help really was a life saver considering our last minute dog dental emergency. We also appreciated the photos and constant updates which gave us peace of mind while away. And to top it off, Marty warmed up to you. Now that’s a compliment! Thank you again!!”

“Courtney was an amazing dog-sitter who went out of her way to give both our senior dog and puppy a very happy and comfortable experience. She was very observant and conscientious about checking in with us about everything, sent us photos, and she and her children offered our dogs a warm and welcoming family experience.”
About: I’ve owned pets from bearded dragons, tree frogs, Guinea pigs, hamsters, and dogs big and small. I love animals and I’ve taken care of cats, dogs, tarantulas (assisting with shedded skin stuck), and exotic frogs. I’m currently working full time until August where I will then work full time as a pet sitter. I’m available after 5:30 PM M-F and the entirety of the weekends. I have a small dog that could keep your dog company. I don’t just consider it my responsibility to keep your dog safe, but mentally stimulated as well. Expect walks, play, pupcups, and hikes upon owners permission or request .
“Jamie was amazing! Milo came back absolutely exhausted from playing all weekend with Jamie and her Fritter. She responded to any behavioral concerns I had flagged prior, and he was a safe and happy camper.”

About: I have been taking care of animals since I was 10. I have cared for a blind senior cat as well as a cat with hip problems, which required patience, close monitoring, and adapting the environment to keep them safe and comfortable. I currently help care for my friend’s senior dog, who also has hip and dental issues, so I’m familiar with administering gentle support, maintaining comfort, and being attentive to mobility limitations and pain cues. In addition, I have experience caring for younger animals, including kittens and puppies around 12 weeks old. This has given me practice with high-energy care, feeding routines, supervision, and basic early-life behavior management. Overall, I’m comfortable working with both senior pets and young animals, and I adjust my care style based on each pet’s specific health, energy level, and personality needs. Pet care fits into my routine pretty easily because I currently have a part-time job with a very variable schedule. Since my shifts change from week to week, I’m generally flexible and available most days with some notice. This flexibility allows me to adjust around pet care responsibilities like feeding, walks, check-ins, or overnight stays when needed. I’m also used to planning my time in a way that ensures animals are consistently cared for, even on busier days, so I can reliably fit pet care into my weekly schedule. In my home, I would make sure any pet is cared for in a safe, comfortable, and supervised environment. While my apartment doesn’t have a backyard, there is a fenced-in area nearby where dogs can run, play fetch, and get exercise. I also have a car, so if the owner is comfortable with it, I can take the dogs to a dog park for additional enrichment and activity. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize keeping their routine as consistent as possible—feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special care instructions are followed closely. I’m also very mindful of respecting the home itself. I was raised to always leave a place cleaner than I found it, so I make sure everything is kept tidy, organized, and exactly as I found it. Communication is also important to me, so I always update owners and let them know right away if anything seems off or if there are any concerns about their pet’s health, behavior, or well-being.

Perfect for high energy dogs - Harvard

About: My husband and I have had our own dogs, cats, and other more exotic pets for decades and we love them dearly. When asked if we have children, we often state, "Yes we do! Some have fur and some do not!" While traveling, we know all too well what a hassle and expense it can to obtain care for pets who need to be left behind. It also can be a distressing thought to realize they will be in a small cage for most of the day if you leave them at a traditional kennel. We love providing a better option for you when it comes to pet care. We've often tended the animals of family and friends throughout the years, and now have over a year of Rover sitting under our belts as well - not to mention having had many dogs of our own all throughout our marriage. My husband and I are glad to be able to open our home to others while they are away so that good care for their dogs can be obtained at a reasonable price. We strive to give our boarded furry guests the same experience we would like our own animals to have when we travel. Brady works from home with a flexible schedule, and thus he can provide fairly constant supervision and potty breaks. We have a spacious & grassy fenced-in area which provides plentiful room for sun, fun, play, and exercise. Our home is large enough to accommodate many dogs without us nor your pet feeling cramped. Dogs that are able to be off-leash often accompany us throughout the day while we perform various outside tasks, giving them even more time to roam and explore. We can also take dogs walking on-leash if needs be on a road that runs through the forested area of our land. If your pooch enjoys swimming, we have a pond they can take a dip in during the hot summer months. We are able to administer oral and injected medication to your dog, and we have cared for several of our own elderly dogs over the decades who have needed daily insulin injections and other medications. We can accommodate dogs with special needs as well, and equip dogs that are prone to escaping with Airtags to aid with locating them if an incident were to occur. Finally, we are always happy to answer any questions, so please feel free to contact us regarding any special accommodations or needs your pet may have and we will try our best to provide it for them. We know there are many options out there when it comes to caring for your pets, so thank you for considering us for helping you with this very important task! Since my husband works from home, either he or myself are available for the animals nearly 24/7 with the exception being times we go into town for errands. We usually crate feed our own dogs twice a day. We feed our Rover guests at the same time, but we can adjust times if needed. Dogs in our home use a doggy door which opens to a large & grassy fenced-in area surrounding our house. We also frequently let dogs out through the doors if they’re unaccustomed or unable to use an automatic doggy door. Our dogs accompany us throughout the day as we perform various tasks and activities on our 150-acre spread, which gives them ample time to exercise and explore. Guest dogs that are able to be off-leash without fleeing are always brought along on these excursions as well. Even though our fenced yard is very spacious, dogs that cannot be off-leash are taken on a lead to wherever we are currently working and tied there to allow them a chance to walk about and have a change of scenery. We allow animals on our furniture (some even snuggle with us at night), and have many dog beds placed throughout the home. We do have large animal crates set up if your dog prefers to sleep in a private space. If your dogs love to socialize and play, we provide several of our own playmates for them. There is often at least another guest or two who can join in as well.
“Or boy always has fun with Brandi! He whines at the door to see her, and comes home happy. Thankful for the flexible pickup when our plans when longer than expected.”

“We had our (10-year-old) puppy stay with Mango for a full day while we were in Spokane for the day. We dropped off our girl at 8:30am and picked her up at 10pm. I was a little worried about being too late and interrupting her night, but Mango was very accomodating. She communicated exactly what to do very well. Mango has 4 dogs of her own and did not require a meet and greet. My pup is usually great with other dogs, but dogs will be dogs so you can never know for certain! Mango was great though! She sent pictures of the dogs making their introductions to each other. It was great... sitting at a circle looking at each other- it looked like they were at an AA meeting. ;p Though my dog was only with Mango for the day I still received 4 photos of my dog. I love photos and updates- Mangos communication skills were great! Hoping to use Mango again some time in the future.”

About: I’ve taken care of a good amount of breeds from huskies to chihuahuas. I have loved every single one that it melts my heart every time i see them. I have a dog of my own and she’s a sassy silly lazy girl. I enjoy cuddling with dogs and just having fun with them. Going on walks, playing with toys, watching a movie and going through a roller coaster of emotions, i can do a lot with dogs! i can also ensure that i will provide as much goofy photos of possible if wanted (i will be taking because its funny and brings up the vibes) I work super early so I’m available for majority of the day. I’ll leave at the crack of the morning and come back in the morning still! i’m able to take all dogs out for a potty break in between work as well and just give them attention if that’s all they need! I treat my pets like my fur babies. they are my children so i talk to them as if i have teenage kids going through their moody phase. with other people’s dogs i can present my self calmly or energized depending on what they need. i love including them in everything if they want. like if they want to help me fold laundry, cook, clean, or just watch a movie then we are all doing it as a group.

“My dog was happy, and I'm happy. My dog had to be home alone for 13 hours a day for a week. She would have been so lonely and destroyed the house. It was such a relief to know she was going to get some love mid day. After a week of Mango walking my dog; I noticed she had better leash manners. Which was a huge bonus.”

I'll adapt to your needs as best I can :)
About: My family has lots of dogs ranging from 150 lbs to 7 lbs. I have taken care of them since I was 10 years old. My schedule is very open, I only have class on Tuesday and Thursday. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday is open all day for me to watch. I am active so your dog will be walked and taken outside very often. My house is big so lots of room to play around.
