“Absolutely amazing care given to our girl. Jenevieve was excellent at communicating and sending pictures. I felt at ease that she was getting a lot of love when I couldn't give it to her.”

“Kim was very loving of our Ruby! She sent us pictures and let us know how things were going while we were away. Ruby had a great vacation playing on Kim’s farm and being loved on by her family. We very much appreciated that we didn’t need to worry about Ruby while we were gone! Will use Kim again and again, every time.”

“Brandon was a great dog sitter for the week and half we were gone! He gave our Wheaten all of the walks and play he needed. Brandon kept in touch with updates and was easy to communicate with. He loved our dog like his own, and I’m sure our Wheaten would love to go back next time we need a sitter!”

“Joanne and her family were awesome taking care of our spoiled dog during our recent extended trip. We were lucky to find them as our dog does not fare well in the typical kennel situation. Joanne was extremely patient dealing with our dog's anxiety. She sent us periodic photos during our trip which was nice. We highly recommend Joanne's family. ”

“Carmen was great. She's a very sweet and caring person. She has a beautiful place out in the country. And I needed a place for my pomeranian to stay at the last minute for a long weekend and she was willing to take him.”

“Jody (Jolene) was very quick to respond and took great care of our lab! He had double ACL surgery in previous years so she ensured he was not roughhousing with other pets. Thank you!”

“Janell & Joe ended up being a perfect fit for my miniature Schnauzer Gunther! We appreciate the quick updates and photo to set our minds at ease! Very kind and easy to work with!! Highly recommend!!”

“My dog warmed up to Autumn right away, and Autumn excitedly welcomed her into her home. She took her on long walks even when the weather was not very nice. She kept in contact with me throughout the day to keep me posted on how my dog was doing. They became good buddies.”

“Sasha was a great sitter! Highly recommend using her if you get the chance. She was friendly, communicative, and I could tell she really loves animals. Will definitely be using her again in the future.”

“The whole process from the meet and greet to pickup time was great. Aly is friendly and very dog knowledgeable. She has a wonderful secure and fenced in yard for dogs to play in. We got a daily update at the end of the day along with a picture. Shadow was a very happy dog when we picked him up.”

About: Hi! My name is Breana, and I’m excited to start my journey on Rover. While I’m new to providing services on the platform, I’ve personally used Rover for my own puppies and have had wonderful experiences—which inspired me to become a sitter and dog walker myself. I have a genuine love for animals and hands-on experience working with dogs. I’ve attended behavior classes and completed dog grooming courses at DMACC, as well as worked as a dog groomer. These experiences have helped me better understand dogs’ needs, behaviors, and how to keep them safe, comfortable, and happy. I will treat your pets with the same care, patience, and attention that I give my own. You can trust that your loved ones will be in caring and responsible hands with me. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! I work overnight as a CNA, but with a little time to rest, I’m flexible during the day and on weekends. Just letting me know a day or two in advance. I treat every pet like my own—keeping things clean, following all instructions carefully, and making sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for with walks, playtime, treats, and plenty of attention.
“Alicia was responsive and took great care of Harry while we were away. He came home happy and tired, which is a nice combo. :) It was nice to know he was in a house with other pets and kiddos to play with.”

“Angela was very flexible with us and was able to visit with Misty twice a day while we visited family out of state for a weekend. She made sure to get Misty her medicine, checked her water and litter, and gave her lots of love. She always gave updates and cute pictures. We appreciated working with her!”

About: Not Just a Pet Sitter — A True Animal Caregiver I’ve been around animals my entire life. I am currently open for any time of the day or night monday thru friday. And am available 12pm-5pm on sundays. I can somwtimes make an exception for Saturday's if I am given a notice a few days ahead of time. When caring for pets in a client’s home, my priority is keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. Animals feel safest in their own environment, so I follow your detailed instructions closely — including feeding schedules, portion sizes, medications, exercise routines, and any special care needs.

“Paul is the person you want to care for your home and your pets while you are away! His communication was excellent, he sent frequent photos of our cat, and he took great care of everything household, even completing an unexpected household maintenance task. We returned to a pristinely clean home with everything organized so nicely for our home. I had confidence he would care lovingly for our cat from when they first met. Paul gave the immediate impression that he loves animals and has an innate sense for their needs. Thank you, Paul, for giving us a worry-free time away from home.”

“Rachael did drop in visits for my two cats over about a week and a half. I appreciated the punctuality and extra effort to give them wet food (they're on an auto feeder and my little piggy Zakky definitely appreciated it 😂). No complaints and would book Rachael again. 🙂”

I have volunteered at the ARL and received some training. I have an open schedule with lots of flexibility that allows for plenty of time to take care of or hang out with my furrbabies. I prefer to keep dogs leashed when a fence is not available. My cat stays indoors. I treat my pets as my children. For outdoor cats, it depends on the owner. I have seen GPS used to keep track of their location outside.

“She did a wonderful job caring for my sick and yet very energetic husky. Super nice woman and a very good caretaker. My husky threw a temper tantrum when she saw me walk through the front door instead of Farra 😂”

“Ali took great care of my 3 cats in Age 14 to 10 months. They have different needs but she made sure they were well fed and less stressed while I was out for vacation. I highly recommend her care.”

“Angie was so great with our guy! She’s extremely accommodating to schedule changes and was exactly what we needed while back visiting family. If we come back this fall she will be the first one we check for availability!”

About: NOTE: I work weekdays throughout the school year. Still available, but pets will be at home without me on weekdays for about 7 hours. I have owned and cared for dogs for over 25 years. I have cared for small dogs <25 pounds all the way up to large sized Great Danes > 200 pounds. I have been fostering dogs for Safe Paws Iowa for the past 3 years. I am available for a large portion of the summer because I only coach softball outside of the school year. I am very active and would love to share that energy with dogs! Walking, jogging, or just playing in the doggy pool is no issue at all. I currently have two dogs of my own. They can play all together or be kept separated! I also have experience giving dogs meds as some of the dogs in my care have different long term conditions. Can’t wait to meet your precious pups! Please contact me if you have any remaining questions! I am mostly free over the summer and weekends. I run errands or make plans outside of when I’m taking care of pets. Pet care is my priority while hosting! I have a fenced in yard, my own dogs to join in play if wanted, I have gates/doors and a finished lower level where I can separate dogs if need be, and have multiple kennels. I allow my dogs on furniture, but can follow owner house rules.
About: Hello! I have loved animals all my life. I went to Iowa State University to get a bachelor’s degree in Biology! While at ISU, I was a caretaker at the Insect Zoo, caring for and presenting all sorts of creepy crawlies. I have several years of experience caring for dogs, cats, and reptiles. I volunteered at the local humane society for several years! I love learning new things and am always reading up on how to take the best care of my pets as possible. I have raised many kittens from birth and have experience giving medications to senior cats and dogs. I live on a farm now with lots of kitties and chickens! My #1 goal is to ensure the comfort and safety of your pet while you are away. I currently have one indoor cat, Luna and a puppy named Winston. They are fed twice a day, morning and evening. They get hours of cuddles and play time and always has a clean environment to thrive in. My husband works from home, so they get a ton of attention! We bought a farm in October 2023 and outside we have 14 chickens. By the end of the year we will also have goats! We have almost five acres to run and play on while your pet is here. Animals in my home are treated as family members. Anyone that knows me knows that my animals are my life. I like to know every detail about your pet to best care for them. There is no such thing as “too much” information when it comes to caring for your pets!
About: I am a homeschool mom. I have had several dogs over the last 26 years from blue heelers, labradors, a lab/dane mix and most recently an Australian Shepherd. I've house-broken and crate trained all my puppies and we also adopted an adult rescue dog and acclimated him to family life. I've taken different obedience courses over the years and most recently am working on Rally Obedience with my aussie. My family, which includes my husband and two teenage daughters love dogs of all sizes and ages. I’ve got a very large fenced in back yard, a fun loving Aussie, and am home most of the time to give your fur baby lots of love and attention. I have recent experience in dog obedience and have house-trained puppies. I love to walk dogs and give them lots of attention. Because I homeschool, most days I am home and able to attend to dog or puppy care. Our two year old Aussie loves to play with other dogs and has earned his CGC-A. Backyard play or leash walking would be part of your pets care. On occasion we may go to a park and our dog often accompanies us. I have a large fenced in yard with lots of shade and green space to run around in. I have crates of various sizes to keep your dog safe and comfortable at night, when we leave for an errand or to retreat to as needed.
About: I've been an animal lover since childhood. If I can't adopt each one, at least I can provide a safe, playful, and loving temporary environment I am a stay at home mom which means I am available for your fur baby days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Care at your convenience. I have 1 dog who are very precious to me. I lovingly care for her daily with proper nutrition, walks, and love. I proudly bring her places with me.
“This was just about as easy as it gets. Dropped Kayce off with a good conversation before I left. Picked him up with another good conversation about how he did and headed home. Normally when I pick him up from doggy daycare he just goes to sleep. He seemed relaxed and not completely worn out. It was great!”

About: Not only have I had my own animals most of my life but for 3 or 4 years I was also a foster home for the breed Weimaraner. Animals are like my kids and so will be your animals. Would prefer to discuss with each animal owner what is needed as I work full time but I am flexible so would like to be contacted. I am very protective and treat all animals as my own whether they are in my house or there own. If I’m my home or there own I would follow there owners instructions on what is required.
“Very accommodating on very short notice. Paige took great care of Cricket while I dealt with an emergency with another pet and I was able to rest easy that Cricket was in good hands!”

About: I love animals! I was the go to neighborhood pet sitter as a kid, and have enjoyed so many dogs and cats over the years. I'm a stay at home mom to older children. I will follow your specific care and/or exercise instructions to make your pet feel as comfortable as possible and well loved while you are away.
About: My husband and I have 8 Huskies that we have rescued. I have a ton of patience and lots of love. Your dog will be considered as part of our pack. I will be the one taking care of your baby. I work at a hospital 4 days a week. Our dogs are kenneled for their safety while I'm at work. They are fed twice a day (morning and night) and walked 2 miles a day We do not have a fenced in yard, but we do have tie outs so your dog will be safe. They are allowed on the furniture and we have a full basket of bones and toys to share.
About: I've always been fascinated by canine behavior and have tried to learn all I can about training methods of all kinds. I loved to walk with my dog and train her to do tricks and how to behave around the house. Although she was about 65 pounds, I taught her how to act gently around my 3-year-old nephew. Sadly, she passed away a few months ago. I want to continue to share the knowledge and techniques I've learned while exploring the great outdoors with furry friends of all sorts. Beyond my own dog, I have some experience with dogs of all ages, shapes, and sizes. I have also done grooming like combing, bathing, tooth brushing, and nail clipping. The bottom line is that I am happy to do whatever care your companion needs. :)
About: My pets are indoors AND outside because I have safe, pet friendly, separated or joined, sheltered, natural areas where we can all unwind on my seven acres. I'm a retiree who devotes all my time to my grandkids, animals and hobbies. Your pets' needs are provided for at all times whether they are here for a day, week or month as they are included in our family activities. Pets are kept separated or allowed to play together depending on their needs. I provide crates, mats, kennels and even my bed for peaceful sleeping.
“Cindy was awesome with our puppy! She was very flexible with the drop off/pick up time and she made our pup feel safe and loved. We picked up a happy/tired dog and now know that we have a trusted person to take care of her from now on! Thank you!”

“Kiah was great with Zeke. She took care of him and had a play date set up for him to play with another boxer. Pics showing him having a good time. Would recommend and we'll be back. 🙂”

About: I have owned cats and dogs since I was a kid! I grew up on a farm and have loved every animal I’ve encountered. My animals are my family. I have experience in training, grooming, and spoiling every animal with love. After all, they only know us they’re entire life. I have two dogs so how does pet care fit into my daily routine? It is my daily routine! Dogs usually wake me up around 5:30 to go outside so we get up, first feeding of the day right after that. My dogs usually let me know when they need to go outside by ringing the jingle bells on our door. They spend a lot of time in our big backyard while I’m gardening or doing yard work. We like to play fetch and go on walks often. Nail trims take place every now and again when needed, as do baths. After a long day for me (naps for them and barking at squirrels) we cuddle up in bed for the night. We have a big fenced in backyard (an acre to be exact)! Can easily follow any crate or potty schedule as needed. Anything your animals need we can provide :) I am mainly stay at home 24/7 however sometimes I run errands and just need to get out of the house! Pet care is my daily routine! My dogs schedules are pretty relaxed. Dogs wake me up early around 5-5:30 and we go outside, come in and eat. They let me know when they need to go outside but typically I am in my garden most of the time so the door is open for them to come and go as they please. I always keep a close eye on all dogs when they are here. I follow whatever schedule is given me for other dogs so they are not thrown off. We have plenty of rooms in the house if they need to be fed alone. I love being able to create a safe space for the dogs to take a little vacation!

About: I love the energy of animals - particularly the playfulness, affection, and intelligence of dogs. I grew up with cats, dogs, and chickens and have cared for bunnies, sheep, and fish. Chickens, like dogs, stand out because of their unique personalities and the funny hierarchy in a hen house. I’d be happy to offer care to a wide variety of animals as I’m comfortable around all I’ve encountered, but dogs hold a special home in my heart. I’m self-employed and have been running my own online business for nearly 12 years now and I’m very flexible and open to your schedule. I am well-versed in the importance of timely, thorough, and thoughtful responses and attention to detail. I’ll be sure to respond to requests and messages as quickly as possible, and to stay in communication with my customers for the duration of my stay with your pup! When I’m not enjoying the company of animals, you can usually find me writing or cooking. I also love nature walks and any change to watch the sunset. Because I do travel, I can’t have a dog of my own right now, but I’d love to “get my fix” by caring for your furry friend! I can’t wait to meet you! I love starting and ending the day with a walk, and a dog is the perfect companion! My schedule is flexible so I'm more than happy to take their lead and listen to their needs. At this time, I can't host dogs in my home, but I would be delighted to house sit and care for your home and animals while you are away!
About: Spending time and interacting with animals has always been a passion of mine. Over the years I helped my grandma run her dog sitting service, taking the dogs for walks and cleaning up the kennels. I also enjoy being outside and taking my own dog for long walks and fun trips to the dog park. My dog is a family member and I intend on treating yours the same way. Your dog will have a great time exploring the city and playing with others at the dog park. I hope to someday have my own place where I can board dogs just like grandma did!!! I spend 90% of my time with dogs and we enjoy playing with other pups at the dog parks, we are traveling nomads and look forward to meeting you My dogs live in my van with me Both are crate trained. I feed my dogs twice a day. They enjoy laying around the house being lazy. Going to the dog park to play with others is always fun too!!! We also enjoy walking
About: I have been working with dogs since I was in fifth grade. I started off as an avid dog show girl and I learned quickly how to train dogs and realized I love working with animals. I started teaching other people how to train dogs when I was 15 and when I turned 18 got my license to judge dog shows! I have had dogs come to my house when they were puppies and I taught them basic commands while I watched them for a week. For the past few years I have done sitting in the dogs home, but now that I have my own pup I am starting to board here. I have worked with dogs of all sizes, ages, and with different mannerisms and I aim to make them feel at home in my care. I have experience giving injections and oral medicine, as well as caring for dogs who can not easily get around on their own. I currently work in West Des Moines, if you book me during the week for overnights I will be gone during the days but drop in over my lunch for potty breaks! On the weekends I try to stay at the house as much as possible unless you just need short drop ins! I will always make sure I know the best way to care for your babies! Whether it is always watching the door for escape artists, or double checking their harnesses before every walk. I want you to always feel and ease and I do not take this job lightly, as these are not just animals but a member of your family!
“Megan did a spectacular job with our puppy, Duke! She was very prompt and professional in her responses. Megan took care of Duke for a week with a last minute request and we are extremely grateful that she was able to take him. He was really young and we had never used Rover before, but Megan did a spectacular job and made us always want to use Rover going forward with any of our dog daycare or boarding needs. I highly recommend Megan to anyone that wants their dog to have great care and a loving home while having daycare or being boarded. We cannot thank Megan enough!”

“Sirena and her family took great care of Gordo! The dogs played around in her yard and had a blast! This is his second stay and she will always be my preferred carer in Iowa.”

About: Ever since I was a little girl I have always loved being around dogs. I have grown up around many dogs my family owned and learned how to properly take care of a dog from a young age. My high school job was working at a doggy daycare facility and thats when I blossomed. It was a job I was excited to attendant and fell in love with many of the dogs there. I am very patient with dogs and will give them all of the attention they need. I would be a great fit for your dog because I will love the dog just as much as you do! At the moment I only work 3 days a week. This benefit's me because the other 4 days off I am free and more than happy to take care of your dog. I have flexible scheduling on my days off and can even set up a weekly schedule if needed. I live in a very loving home. It will just be me taking care of your dog so you wouldn’t have to worry about any strangers being around. I have a very big yard to be able to play fetch with your dog and a very nice neighborhood to take your dog on walks. I am more than willing to travel to your own home to take care of your dog as well and any needs that come along with it.

I am able to provide reliable and consistent care during all hours of the day, ensuring your pet's routine is never disrupted. My personal pets are my family, and I provide them with nothing but the best. You can rest assured that your pet will be treated with the same boundless love and attention that I give to my own "fur babies."

About: I've had pets all my life and would love to care for yours too, on a temporary basis. I love to vacation and often struggle with finding a solution for my babies while I'm gone. For me my favorite choice is to have someone I know and trust stay in my home but there's hardly ever anyone available for that kind of commitment! I thought it would be awesome to be able to provide that kind of care for someone else: house/pet sitting, drop-in, or just walks/exercise. I want you to know your pets are loved and treated with gentle kindness. I recognize that I'm kind of a stranger to your babies and I'll treat them like my own and earn their trust! They'll be loved and cared for in a way that will make your absence less stressful for them and as much like their normal days as it can be while you're away. I take my responsibilities to others extremely seriously and won't be satisfied unless you are! I'm retired so my schedule is very flexible! I have availability on weekdays and weekends both. Mornings, afternoons, and evenings are fine by mutual agreement. I enjoy taking find for walks or just playing outside in the yard. On days where weather is bad, I'm happy to get the dogs outside to do their business and then play a bit indoors!

About: I’ve had cats, dogs, chickens, ducks, and horses growing up. Having a wide range of animals growing up has helped me learn what a pet is wanting and needing. I’m currently a college student, my evening can be flexible as well as my weekends! Willing to work with owners to create a balance that works for me and your pets. I would prefer to have your pet in your home! I think that will be best for your pets safety and mine too. I’m willing to do what the owner is wanting for their pets comfortability.

About: My whole life I have been surrounded by Dogs. From taking care of my own and my Grandmother's furry companions, I love being with Dogs of all sizes and energy levels. From Dogs who bounce off the walls, to those who would rather take a nap, I am up for any Dog personality. I have experience caring for senior dogs as well as young ones. I am able to give medication to your furry friends, if they need it. I am available days and nights throughout the summer. I am also flexible to provide daily potty breaks for your dogs. I am able to stay overnight to keep your best friends safe! I'm used to having dogs in my bed, so they will always have someone to sleep with at night. If you have any questions please reach out. I would like to be given instructions on how the owners usually care for their pets. I don't want to disturb their feeding schedules. I also like to know how their pets like to play and what they're personality is like.

I would let the dog(s) as much exercise or playtime as needed or wanted. I also have a 3 year old dog who would love a play date if your pet(s) were in my home.
About: I have degrees in Animal Science and Animal Nutrition, as well as several years of experience caring for animals of all kinds in home, medical, and educational settings. I worked for a few years as a veterinary assistant during college so I am comfortable working with animals with medical needs. I previously worked for Hill's Pet Nutrition caring for 100-200 dogs in their canine facility every day, making sure they live their best life! I helped care for our 2 family dogs growing up, I currently have my own cat named Winifred, and I also have experience as a volunteer pet sitter while I was in college. There is no dog too big or too small, I love them all! And I would love to help you care for your furry family member. I work fully remote, so I can easily bring my work with me and spend most of my time with your pets. My daily schedule is pretty flexible, so I'm able to adjust as needed. As long as I know the important people, places, and things in and around your home, I can navigate taking care of your pets in their own space providing a routine that its similar to what they're used to while you're away!
“Booked for dog walking and I am confident my dog also gives her 5 stars. My dog loved Ali immediately, first sight. Ali is attentive to her and clearly skilled with her. My dog is intelligent and PARTICULAR about leaving me. Notoriously bad at taking commands from strangers. When Ali arrived for just the second walk, my dog was loving her and ready to head out at the first sight of her. And my dog gets long walks every day the weather allows, so walking alone is not the draw here. Ali communicates beautifully with me as an owner, does great follow-up when she returns from the walk, and clearly loves what she does. No complaints in my house. I don't generally leave my dog care to anyone else, but Ali”

About: I have had dogs my entire life. That’s a long time! I assure you your dog would be in good hands! I will love them like they were mine! I stay home now so I’m available pretty much anytime. I’m willing to go to your home if it’s not to far away. Just ask I’m sure we can work something out. I have a fenced in yard. I have two friendly dogs. One has a crate and one doesn’t. They both sleep where they want. I crate one only sometimes.
About: I had dog when I was only 5 years old and always been taking care of dogs since I was growing up and now have my own baby, Porky and everyone always relies on me to watch their dogs and caring fir them while they are gone. I really love animals and dogs big time. I always let them outside whenever they feel like it and play roam around in backyard with fence :) I would go on dog walking and they give me excuses to work out too lol. They are my world. I would treat ur dogs as if they were my own. I am working a full time student at college but very flexible with hours. I can do after work for dog walking and even babysitting them too. My husband, he will definitely help me out if I need to when I m at school etc. Can always talk about needs and when etc. I do have a big backyard with fenced around. I have two dogs they will love to play with others. I would like to introduce them to your first before start let them play. I can always separate them if need to so they can take turns. I can give them bath, feed, take them out for walk, and even stay overnight if need. I would let you bring ur own dog foods for ur pets so that way it Is separate. I will always give them treats if being good. All you have to do is let me know what not to do or to do for them so I can be prepared.

“Kim was very loving of our Ruby! She sent us pictures and let us know how things were going while we were away. Ruby had a great vacation playing on Kim’s farm and being loved on by her family.
