Personalized care for your dog or cat - Barney

“I knew Debora was the right person to care for Cindy when I brought her to Debora's house to introduce the two of them. Debora had taken steps ahead of time to insure that Cindy did not get into an unsafe situation. Debora understands that a healthy cat cannot resist an open door of any kind. Debora let Cindy explore. She recognized Cindy's reactions to this unfamiliar environment. Debora was relaxed and patient. She quickly understood Cindy's personality. Debora was thorough in asking about Cindy's health. Debora is alert to nuances in behavior that may indicate a health issue in a cat. When I picked up Cindy after this her first stay, Debora commented on Cindy's vigorous, even startling, purring. Yes, that is Cindy when she is contented. I am pleased to have found such a fine caregiver for Cindy. I have already booked for two more stays with more coming up. Thank you, Debora!”

“Another great stay for our pup with Holly! We are so grateful to Holly for accommodating a last minute stay that our dog clearly loved. Excellent communication and care.”

“We are very happy with care we got for Flynn from Candace. She posted updates timely and I highly recommend her. Pictures were really lovely and funny. We never captured Flynn with smiley face.”

“Laura provided great care for my pup for a couple of days while we were traveling--doing boring people stuff--in her area; we received a happy (and tired) pooch at the conclusion of her stay. Would definitely book again!”

“I am very appreciate of how Lucinda was attentive to my senior dog. She has a great fenced in yard that I know Bliss enjoyed. It was great to receive updates throughout his stay from Lucinda. Would definitely recommend to others!”

“We were really happy with the care Evan took with Red and keeping us updated throughout the week. He knows what hes doing and you can see the care he has. Definitely boarding with him next time!”

“I’m so happy I picked Tam and Alexander to watch our dog while we were out of town! The communication was great and I received so many pictures and updates. I would 100% recommend them and we will for sure use them again when we travel ☺️”
“Grizzly loved his long stay with Kylie! My husband and I could fully enjoy our vacation stress free knowing Grizzly was in amazing hands. Would recommend Kylie and her family to anyone looking for a home away from home for their fur baby!”

About: I grew up with dogs and now have 2 cats and 1 dog of my own. Our cats are both American Shorthair and our dog is a golden retriever! I’m currently a stay at home mom and we love watching some furry friends during our days! We can let them out multiple times, go on walks, and play. Our big fenced in backyard makes for a fun time! I have two very friendly cats who warm up quickly to other animals or hide until they feel comfortable! We also have a golden retriever who loves other animals and loves to play! I live in house with a fenced in backyard!
About: I have been a volunteer pet sitter for many years helping friends and neighbors. Dogs sense my spirit and respond in kind. I am a hands-on, loving caregiver and my fur baby Wiggles is a generous host who loves to share. If your baby has special needs, we will accommodate seniors, or puppies that need more frequent potty breaks. Our home is very clean. Wiggles has regular vet care and is healthy and vibrant. I work from my home office. Your baby will not be crated (unless you request it) or left unsupervised. They will receive attention and have a buddy to keep them calm and occupied until you come to pick them up. My sweet Wiggles is a 13.5# Shipoo with a happy, loving disposition. Wiggles is very adaptable and welcomes new visitors to her home with enthusiasm. She is very bright and has helped 2 puppies learn to potty outside with the big kids. She loves meeting new fur buddies. She is an energetic and gentle playmate. We only take one dog (or dog family) at a time so your fur baby(s) will receive our complete attention. We go for walks every 2 hours and have at least one adventure per day to the park or other doggie destination. We make our own food and treats and feed every 4 hours with unlimited low-cal treats. We have and expect good manners, but we also believe doggies should be SPOILED. We look forward to meeting and falling in love with your fur baby.
“Becky took care of Silky very well and took him for walks and updated regularly regarding how he was doing. She also picked him up and dropped him off which was very convenient especially with the bad weather with snow at the time.”

About: I have always been an animal lover, talking care of my own dog while helping friends, family members, or neighbors with their furry family members! I have owned 3 dogs total (two labs and now have my Great Pyrenees mix, Minnie🫶 who lives with my parents) but have also fostered 7 different dogs so have vast experience with different dog breeds, behavior patterns, and play styles! I would love to spend some time and help out with you and your pet:) I am a current masters student so my schedule varies but most school days are just a few hours in the morning or afternoon. I love to be active and would love to take your dog with me whether that’s on a run/walk or maybe the dog park! I treat my dogs like family and would love to do the same for you. Belly rubs, cuddles, or just playing with a toy, your dog will get the best care🫶
“Ryan took great care of our senior Rottweiler (Bruno), who is struggling with arthritis. We were worried about how Bruno would fair while we were gone and Ryan sent us pictures everyday, reassuring us that Bruno was doing well and having a good time. He even sent him home with some homemade treats that Bruno loves. Thank you, Ryan!”
“Our pup, Kevin, had a great weekend with Jessica. We had plenty of updates, and Kevin had tons of outside time doing his favorite thing — playing fetch. Jessica and her husband were so accommodating with our last minute plans and flexible with pick up and drop off times. We will definitely have Kevin stay here again. I highly recommend for all dog parents, but especially if you have a mid-large size pup who loves the outdoors and has lots of energy.”

“Rachael did drop in visits for my two cats over about a week and a half. I appreciated the punctuality and extra effort to give them wet food (they're on an auto feeder and my little piggy Zakky definitely appreciated it 😂). No complaints and would book Rachael again. 🙂”

“Mackenzie is super reliable and I trust them to give my dog the care she needs and be in my home while I’m at work! I love getting the videos and pictures that they send me”

About: I’ve been an animal lover my whole life. I got my first cat when I was 16 and now have two beautiful cats. Taking care of my cats has taught me a lot about patience, responsibility, and genuine love. I have also learned a lot about animal behavior from observing my cats and spending the past six years with them. Even though I have cats at home, I’ve also always loved dogs and enjoy spending time with them. I would love the opportunity to care for your pet and make them feel comfortable and loved.
About: Hi! I’m a veterinary technician with 7 years of hands on experience providing compassionate, skilled care to animals of all ages and medical needs. I have a strong background in pediatric care, critical care nursing, and monitoring medically complex patients, so you can feel confident your pet is in knowledgeable, capable hands. I’m experienced in medication administration (oral, injectable, topical), post surgical care, monitoring vitals, recognizing early signs of illness or distress, and providing supportive care for senior pets and those with chronic conditions. I’m also comfortable caring for puppies, kittens, and pets that need extra patience, structure, or special routines. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and emotional well being are always my top priorities. I treat every animal as if they were my own and aim to provide a calm, stress free environment while keeping you updated with regular photos and messages. Whether your pet is young, aging, or needs a little extra medical attention, I’m here to provide reliable, loving, and professional care while you’re away. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily and weekly routine. I intentionally schedule my availability to ensure pets receive consistent attention, proper exercise, and timely meals and medications. With my background as a veterinary technician, I’m very accustomed to structured care schedules, monitoring routines, and adapting to each pet’s specific needs. I prioritize regular check-ins, enrichment, and calm one on one time, and I plan my days so pets are never rushed or overlooked. Whether it’s daily walks, feeding schedules, medication administration, or extra monitoring for puppies, seniors, or medical cases, pet care is a planned and reliable part of my routine, not an afterthought. For drop-ins and house sitting, I care for pets in their own home to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I follow their normal routine for feeding, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and medications. I also monitor their health and behavior during each visit and make sure their space stays clean and safe. I always send updates and photos so you know your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away.

“Sam was so fantastic with our two cats while we were away on vacation! Although our kitties are pretty low maintenance, she spent quality time with them while taking care of their needs. Our cats are normally antisocial, but we received several pictures during our time away that would prove otherwise! They were obviously happy to have her visit, and we received great updates to help alleviate the pet guilt that comes with vacation. We will definitely be contacting her next time we are away!”

“Thank you so much for taking care of my kitties! I felt very comfortable leaving them in your capable hands. I’ll contact you in the future, should we need a sitter again! ?”

Perfect for high energy dogs - Barney
“Deborah is awesome! She loves my Harley as much as I do, and takes super great care of him. I have used her for about a year and 1/2, maybe longer. She almost always can take him at the last minute, which is perfect for me because I'm not very organized, lol. Thank you Deborah!🤩🥰”

“Megan had a great time at Jessica’s. It was Megan’s first daycare experience and she didn’t even hesitate going in. Megan came home exhausted, which made for a nice relaxing evening. We will definitely be booking with Jessica again.”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs my entire life and have experience caring for pets of all sizes, ages, and personalities! Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me for years to walk, feed, play with, and care for their pets while away. I can’t have a dog of my own right now, so getting to spend time caring for other people’s pets genuinely makes me so happy. I’ll always treat your pet with lots of love, attention, patience, and care while making sure you feel updated and comfortable too. I currently work from home Monday through Friday, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time throughout the day for walks, potty breaks, feeding, playtime, and lots of attention! I’m also available in the evenings and on weekends, so pet care fits very naturally into my routine. As someone who spends a lot of time working from home, I genuinely enjoy getting out of the house and spending time with animals!! I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet and being inside your home. I always aim to create a calm, safe, and loving environment where pets feel comfortable and cared for. I am very attentive to schedules and routines, plus value communication and I would love to send you so many pictures of your pets while you’re away!
About: Growing up on a family farm, I have had the opportunity to care for many different kinds of animals (dogs, horses, cats, chickens, goats, pigs and cows). I have taken care of family and friends dogs for the last 20 years. I have raised 5 puppies and have shown a few of them in local shows. My kids are 10 and 7 and love taking our dogs for walks, hikes and playing with them in our very large back yard. I am home all summer and my school year schedule varies so I have plenty of time to take your pup on walks and play with them. I have a large fenced back yard and 2 pups friendly pups. I have the ability to take your dog to either a paved or dirt trail for walks or runs. My dogs walk 4 to 5 miles a day but I can definitely make the walk shorter if needed. I have the ability to separate the dogs if needed. I can also crate the dogs. Our dogs love to lounge on our couches.

About: With a lifelong ownership of dogs and cats, my experience expanded into rescue fostering in 2021. During this time, I have successfully handled pets that deal with separation anxiety, reactivity, handicaps, and limited obedience/cooperation. I am genuinely excited to learn more about your pet(s), their specific care requirements, and their quirks. I’d love to have responsibility of being your trusted caretaker while you’re away! I am currently working fully remote so am able to do all activities through the weekdays, and have flexible hours on weekends. I’m available to accommodate your schedule to the best of my ability. My home is pet-free, ensuring a comfortable environment for your pet(s), especially if they don’t get along well with other animals. Drawing from my experience with reactive dogs, I am experienced in implementing safety measures during outdoor walks or encounters with other animals.
“Sarah was fabulous. We had another Rover set up, but they had to cancel, so with short notice, Sarah was able to take care of your two little dogs. Her communication from booking and throughout the stay was wonderful and she was flexible with times, which was very appreciated. Our miniature poodles are a little shy with small children, but they did not mind running around the very spacious house with her two little boys. We highly recommend Sarah to take care of your dogs.”
About: We have been pet sitting for friends and colleagues for 2 years so thought why not join Rover and do more! Our clients love my family and we love their pets so it makes perfect sense. I have 4 kids, a small dog and two cats and my small pets just hide if a visiting pet is too much for them otherwise they don't get bothered or bother anyone else, human or pet! I work from home and I have 4 kids who love cats and dogs and love to help out with the dogs that we already provide services for. We are trusted with hideaway keys to homes to let dogs out and we run them in fenced in yards to burn energy. Then we make sure they have food and water and kennel them if applicable before we leave. In our house, visiting pets are watched over by all members of the family. Sometimes we buy them their own special toy to play with. We make sure they eat and get any meds they might need.
About: I have cared for animals most of my life. I have cared for common house pets, rodents, birds, reptiles, and even live stock/ farm animals. My life goal is to become a vet and I have experience taking care of special needs animals. I currently work Monday - Friday 9 hours a day but will be home by 4. I live in a 3 bedroom apartment with 2 friendly cats that have both been raised around dogs most of their lives. There is also a park down the street that is just a few minutes walk. At the moment I do ask that if your furry family member will be a guest over night that a crate is provided for safety of your family and my own. I can care for your furry friends before I leave for work and after I return from work. I am also free most weekends and can watch them from Friday to sunday Your furry friends will not have access to anything harmful and will be allowed on my furniture. For their safety and mine at night I will have them sleep in a kennel.
“Kelly is a life saver! I had a family emergency and had to travel out of town unexpectedly. Kelly was super kind, understanding, and able to accommodate my dog, Ruby, on short notice. Ruby loved her time with Kelly and her dogs and we will absolutely be using her again in the future. I also sincerely appreciated the updates and adorable pictures Kelly sent on the Rover app!”

I am very attentive to schedules and routines, plus value communication and I would love to send you so many pictures of your pets while you’re away!
About: I have been taking care of family and neighbors pets since I was about 12. Growing up I already had every kind of critter I was allowed to have. My love for pets continued to grow as I got older. Previously I worked at Adel Vet Clinic for almost three years and I absolutely loved it. I had my son in January and am staying home with him, but still wanting to be able to get out and care for animals throughout the day. I currently am a stay at home mom with my three month old son. I am available during the week as well as weekends. I have a family whose dogs I take care of during the lunch hour and would love to have some more dogs or cats to see during the day. I currently have two cats and a dog which I am able to spend my days with playing and snuggling. I have some dogs I currently care for and get to go play outside with them and get some good belly rubs in. Whether you are wanting a mid day potty break or snuggles and care well at work or out of town, I’m here for it all.
“Molly was an excellent dog sitter for our golden retriever! She was super responsive in communication for scheduling a meet and greet and booking the stay. While we were gone, she sent pictures and updates so we knew our pup was doing well. She took Bella to her dog park for exercise and gave her lots of love and attention. Five stars!”

About: With a heart full of love, I offer more than just sitting—I provide a second home where your dog feels safe, understood, happy and well cared for. Pet care fits into a daily and weekly routine in a structured but flexible way, depending on the type of pet and their needs. Feeding, playtime, exercise, social time, lovey time. I have a safe environment: Pet-proof areas and separate pets if needed. Stick as closely as possible to the pet’s usual schedule. Supervised playtime with other pets (if applicable and approved). Encourage owners to bring beds, toys, or blankets that smell like home.
