“Kristen is a superior pet sitter. She took care of my dogs and chickens for 1.5 weeks and was on time for her visits. She made sure the dogs didn't escape from the fenced area, she played with the dogs, and even brought them a toy to play tug of war with. When we initially met, she had paperwork for me to fill out, which felt very professional, and in the meeting before we left, she took notes. When I was on my trip, I had forgotten to log into Rover from my phone, so in addition to submitting her photos and comments to Rover, she also sent me the pictures and comments to my phone directly. Lastly, our water system malfunctioned during the trip, resulting in beeping from the filter system. She took it upon herself to send me a video to inform me and asked me if there was anything I would like her to do to address the issue. This wasn't in her pet-sitting duties, but it was kind and thoughtful. I highly recommend Kristen for drop-in visits.”

"Stink" is a 50 lb rescue dog, Pitbull,Catahoula & Blue Heeler mix who is currently 4 years old, very friendly and submissive. Koa is a pitbull mix who is 2-1/2years old, also very friendly and has lots of energy. We also have an older pup who we rescued off the street. His name is Zeus and hes about 7 years old. He a bit of a mutt chihuahua, terrier mix. Zeus is smaller about 14 pounds, he is friendly but also can be a grumpy old man, very mellow. We lost 2 of our elder Dogs in 2019 to Cancer. Having new friends come and stay would be a joyful experience for all of us! Myself and my Husband both work from home, so we have lots of time to watch after your Dog and will never be left alone. For overnight visits, we are glad to send you pictures and updates Daily. We also offer drop offs and pick ups. Our Dogs sleep inside on a Dog bed or in our Bed. We do not chain up Dogs and prefer not to watch dogs that need to be chained up. We allow our Pup on the couch, but we are glad to follow all your house rules. If you have any questions, just ask! We'd love to do a meet & greet so we can make sure we're a right fit for you. Keaau, Kurtistown, and Pahoa are all 10 minutes from us. My husband and I work from home so we will have plenty of time to play with your pup, take walks, and potty breaks etc. We have a partially fenced in front yard, as well as a gate on our lanai so your pup can enjoy the nice weather safely. Anytime your pup is with us it will never be alone and will always be on leash when we go for walks, potty breaks etc. Our pups will also be here to keep yours company and happy. About: I have a lot of dog and house sitting experience and I mostly work from home. I love walking with dogs; it gives me a great excuse to be outside. Not afraid of big dogs. Iʻm strong and the alpha type! Love playing hide and seek with treats. Look forward to meeting you and your pet(s)! I am home a lot. I go to tai chi class 2-3 times a week, and play pickleball close by once or twice a week. I like to take walks early before I go out, and before dinner around 5. I do most of my work from home and love canine company! I have a small 16 X 20 studio with a loft, and a futon day bed. I put a sheet on it and let pets use it or sleep on it, while I sleep in the loft. My yard is unfenced, but I am at the end of a dead end street that backs up against state forest. I will always put dogs on a leash when they go out, unless you assure me they will stick around! When I leave, I can either leave pets inside or put them on a tie-out as you prefer. Any dog not house-trained will need to be in a crate unless you can guarantee they will not pee, chew furniture or jump and damage my screens. When I house/pet sit, I prefer to walk the dogs around the neighborhood if it is safe.

About: I have taken care of dogs from a young age and have always loved animals. I grew up with fish and turtles as well! We have a Shih Tzu Maltese mix that is friendly to all fur babies and humans. I am very reliable, punctual, and have always followed through with everything that I do. Rest assured that your fur baby will be safe with me. I decided to follow my passion in life. With that, I took a leap of faith to do what I truly love, which is caring for animals on a full-time basis! Hours are from 6 am-6 pm for doggy day care. If you are late in picking up your dog, there will be an additional $15 charge added to your total. We have a house with a completely fenced in and gated yard so your fur babies can roam around freely! I vacuum and mop on the daily as well! We do have split a/c units in almost every room. In addition, we maintain our property with pesticides that are safe for dogs to prevent fleas, ticks, and heart worm. To ensure a safe environment, we expect that your dog is on flea, tick, and heart worm medicine and are up-to-date with all vaccines.

About: I have loved animals since childhood when I had hamsters and a rabbit. When I started college, I adopted 2 cats. After getting married, we started to foster cats and dogs and we adopted 2 dogs. I started to pet sit professionally in 2022. Animals are so special, healing in the best way, and the most loyal pals you could ever hope for. I enjoy getting to know each of their unique personalities. I work full time M-F in town. Here are some examples of specific care I've offered: -Taking care of a 15 year old pitbull with grass allergies who required medicine in pill form injested once a day. -Snuggling with a pet pig.....yes! This pig got some loving from me :). He enjoyed his strolls around town in a stroller like a child and made me smile quite a lot. -Adventuring on a road trip to Texas to a Chihuahua farm (I love those yappers) where my sister, niece and I picked up our beloved "Isabella Clarece". She was quite the diva from birth....she had her own mini framed bed and baby pacifier and clothes. She tucked herself under the covers like a human and folded the sheets back perfectly over herself. Our baby ended up making some very gorgeous pomchi babies later! She was so memorable.... -Attentive care to a dog struggling with cancer. -Caring for a cat post surgery who had a specific protocol to follow after her operation. -Looking after a Maltese with PTSD on a medicine regiment and another pupper that had some severe anxiety and separation withdrawals but really calmed down under my care. -Taking care of Koi Fish -Emergency rush to the vet to have tumors accessed and later the vet recommended she be put down because the tumors had spread....sad story. Thanks to all my continuing clients and for new clients thanks again for the inquiries! Q: How does pet care fit into your daily routine? A: My schedule is flexible as someone who works independently so I can accommodate last minute bookings and emergency requests. I am generally at home with your animal unless I run a quick errand. Overall; I'm a pet lover. I know whoever I choose to care for my pet I want to know they will care for them as I would. When I'm housesitting or stopping by for a visit I'll be attentive and caring as if your pet is my child. I will make sure you remain updated on how much your pet is enjoying themselves and what we found on our strolls and ask questions when necessary. Q: Are you able to handle special requests? I have some questions. A: I understand pets sometimes have special needs or there are special requests and I am able to accommodate both. My experiences have cultured me to the array of special needs that arise owning a pet including as well changing diapers with Isabella when she was on her period or dealing with the males when they get a little "excited". If you have any questions or need to explain some specific requests for me sitting your animal please don't hesitate to ask or let me know. I'm available and responsive most of the time unless I'm passing through a low service area. Q: Is my pet secure with you? A: One of our family pets were squirrels that fell from a tree as babies and needed to be bottle fed. If you know squirrels, you know they are sneaky but we kept them in their cages after learning some tricks. I understand Dogs and cats are sneaky so I practice being very aware of my entry and exit , and I practice a safe leash holding technique as well to ensure all animals under my care are secure. I make sure harnesses are properly set and collars are snug as well. Q: When housesitting how will you care for my home? A: Most importantly I'm staying in your home, so you will return and things will be in order. I'll water plants if needed. Pets occasionally have accidents, if that happens I'll clean it up immediately. I've owned and operated a cleaning business before so your home will be kept tidy and clean. If I leave for an errand I'll ensure the house is secure as well with doors locked and gates secured behind me as I leave.
About: Hello! My name is Shelby, my #1 passion is Dogs. I have had a Dog my entire life and would love to watch your Dog(s) for you. I'm from Seattle, WA but I currently live on the Big Island of Hawaii. Your Dog will love staying at my place, 3 acres in Hawaiian Acres, partially fenced with our friendly companion pups named Stinkaroo and Koa. "Stink" is a 50 lb rescue dog, Pitbull,Catahoula & Blue Heeler mix who is currently 4 years old, very friendly and submissive. Koa is a pitbull mix who is 2-1/2years old, also very friendly and has lots of energy. We also have an older pup who we rescued off the street. His name is Zeus and hes about 7 years old. He a bit of a mutt chihuahua, terrier mix. Zeus is smaller about 14 pounds, he is friendly but also can be a grumpy old man, very mellow. We lost 2 of our elder Dogs in 2019 to Cancer. Having new friends come and stay would be a joyful experience for all of us! Myself and my Husband both work from home, so we have lots of time to watch after your Dog and will never be left alone. For overnight visits, we are glad to send you pictures and updates Daily. We also offer drop offs and pick ups. Our Dogs sleep inside on a Dog bed or in our Bed. We do not chain up Dogs and prefer not to watch dogs that need to be chained up. We allow our Pup on the couch, but we are glad to follow all your house rules. If you have any questions, just ask! We'd love to do a meet & greet so we can make sure we're a right fit for you. Keaau, Kurtistown, and Pahoa are all 10 minutes from us. My husband and I work from home so we will have plenty of time to play with your pup, take walks, and potty breaks etc. We have a partially fenced in front yard, as well as a gate on our lanai so your pup can enjoy the nice weather safely. Anytime your pup is with us it will never be alone and will always be on leash when we go for walks, potty breaks etc. Our pups will also be here to keep yours company and happy. I work from home so I have a lot of flexibility when I am watching your pup. Potty break, walks, play time, out of the house adventures etc. I have raised a lot of pups, I am more than happy to follow certain rules/routines or any restrictions you may have for your pet regardless if they are in my home or at their own.

About: For the last 2 years I’ve owned and operated a dog daycare and boarding business from my home. I have a fully fenced acre that is mostly grass (not lava) for dogs to come learn, play, and be safe! I also do drop-in visits, and sometimes offer house sitting, at your house for animals that need to stay home. I also have a produce farm here at my property so I am usually outside. Dogs are welcome to come inside and outside as they please. I practice positive reinforcement training at all times. I am interacting with the animals. They will not be left alone or be lonely while they are here. Your dog will go home tired, socialized, and happy! I do not have kennels. If a dog uses a crate at home, I will ask that you bring their “house” with them. This ensures that they have a safe and familiar place to be while they are here. If they do not have a kennel, it’s important that you bring their bed, so they have their own smells and place to rest while at my place. I have 2 resident dogs and a cat who love to have friends over! Cat can be separated if needed. I prefer to have potty trained and well behaved dogs at my house. About: I have a lot of dog and house sitting experience and I mostly work from home. I love walking with dogs; it gives me a great excuse to be outside. Not afraid of big dogs. I go to tai chi class 2-3 times a week, and play pickleball close by once or twice a week. I like to take walks early before I go out, and before dinner around 5. I do most of my work from home and love canine company! I have a small 16 X 20 studio with a loft, and a futon day bed. I put a sheet on it and let pets use it or sleep on it, while I sleep in the loft. My yard is unfenced, but I am at the end of a dead end street that backs up against state forest. I will always put dogs on a leash when they go out, unless you assure me they will stick around! When I leave, I can either leave pets inside or put them on a tie-out as you prefer. Any dog not house-trained will need to be in a crate unless you can guarantee they will not pee, chew furniture or jump and damage my screens. When I house/pet sit, I prefer to walk the dogs around the neighborhood if it is safe.
