“Shawna has been keeping Bella for over a year now. She is great with Bella, and Bella loves going to visit Shawna. I get daily updates and I always pick up a happy, healthy dog. She even sets up her couch so that Bella can get up there and sit with them. On her last visit, Bella had a medical event. She began coughing and hacking up foamy spit up. Shawna immediately contacted me and we originally decided just to monitor her. But when it continued everytime Bella drank water, Shawna made the decision to take her to the emergency vet. She kept me informed of everything they were doing and how Bella was being treated. She did exactly what I would have done and I'm thankful for having a sitter that I can completely trust to look after Bella. I highly recommend Shawna!!”

In recent years I've gained some training experience from having trained my own three dogs, one of which I had for over 18 years. About: I got my dog when I was 13 (I’m now 22). I trained him by myself when he was a puppy, and everyone he meets says he’s very well behaved. I know how to spot signs of anxiety or distress in dogs and how to respond to that behavior. I’m patient and loving, but I can be stern when need be. I am a student in college, and I work part time at an assisted living facility. Other than the days I’m at work, I’m basically free! I’ll make sure to locate the resources needed to care for your dog (crate, locks, toys, food, leash, harness, etc) as soon as I get to your home. I always end our day together with some treats/food and spending some time with them!

About: I’ve always had dogs at home, up to three at once! Most all raised and trained from puppy stages. I had a disabled dog recently who lost usage of her back legs and was incompetent. She required lots of help and being carried around but was a sweetheart. Currently I have eight geckos as well as two snakes, a skink, two cats (mostly outdoor) and one dog. My dogs name is Luna, she’s almost two years old, deaf and mentally special but as friendly as can be! (Several rooms for separation of my dog if needed as well as my crate. So far she gets along well with others) My current weekly routine is as follows: Monday: Feed Cats and Dog x2, feed and mist geckos Tuesday: Feed cats and dog x2 Wednesday: Feed cats and dogs x2, feed and mist geckos, feed skink, feed hognose Thursday: Feed cats and dog x2 Friday: Feed cats and dog x2, feed and most geckos Saturday: Feed cats and dog x2, feed skink Sunday: Feed cats and dog x2 Feed and mist geckos Saturday I go out about every hour and a half for potty breaks. I do not have a fence but I have a large pasture as well as lots of leads. I’m willing to walk for hours with your pet on a leash! I have one friendly pup to keep yours company and I have a spare room. I have the ability to crate my dog and space for a crate for yours if provided. We go out after every food and water break, get lots of cuddles and extra play time!

We were visiting in the Blue Ridge area and had activities planned for two days that would not allow us to bring our pet along. Esmeralda's home was a peaceful retreat in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. Our little morkie gets overwhelmed and stressed at boarding facilities. But she was happy and playful when I picked her up each day. Esmeralda sent updates and photos both days and was genuinely happy to see Molly each morning. About: Stephanie "Stevie" is experienced with managing the special needs of high-anxiety and/or reactive dogs. She has rescued and rehabilitated 3 dogs of her own, and 6 cats. She is an active volunteer at the local animal shelter, helping with adoption events and enrichment activities. Stevie has been a pet-sitter since she was 12 years old. She started with plants and birds, and now 20 years later, can work with any animal, including ones that require bottle feedings, complex medication schedules, or homestays up to 2 weeks. Farm animals too! Chickens, ducks, and goats! She was a camp counselor for 3 summers and also conducted a work exchange at a homestead farm for 1 summer. She successfully worked for Trusted Housesitters but has switched to Rover for more local opportunities. I work remotely part-time and have a flexible schedule that can meet all of your pet's individual needs. 24/7 care and attention for your animal! I understand your home is your sanctuary, and I aim to leave it as if I was never there. All poops are bagged up and properly disposed of immediately. All water drops or pee piddles are cleaned up with pet-safe sanitation spray. The door locks are always double checked upon departure. I send pictures of your pets happy and healthy during every visit.
About: I’ve had my own animals and taken care of neighbors pets for as long as I can remember. I have lots of experience with cats/kittens & dogs! I have two dogs of my own and a main coon cat. They are basically my children and I take pride in loving on them and treating them like royalty! I work from home and have a pretty flexible schedule so I’m open to all sorts of pet care! I would love to drop by for a walk, or stay overnight for a weekend! I am lucky to have the freedom of a flexible schedule. I will come to you! About: I got my dog when I was 13 (I’m now 22). I trained him by myself when he was a puppy, and everyone he meets says he’s very well behaved. I know how to spot signs of anxiety or distress in dogs and how to respond to that behavior. I’m patient and loving, but I can be stern when need be. I am a student in college, and I work part time at an assisted living facility. Other than the days I’m at work, I’m basically free! I’ll make sure to locate the resources needed to care for your dog (crate, locks, toys, food, leash, harness, etc) as soon as I get to your home. I’ll spend 100% of my time in the company of your dog- they wouldn’t leave my sight. I’ll make sure to follow any guidelines about what your dog should/should not do. About: I have been watching dogs sense I was able to drive. I’ve grown up my entire life with dogs and cats. I have a pup named Prince he’s a good boy. I love to meet new pup friends and take care of them as if they were mine. I am a full time student but I am online so I can walk or take out your pets whenever it’s needed, but i do work a part time job. If my assistants is needed just text me and we can set something up! “Charity and her family are awesome humans. This was our first time “boarding” our dog. I put boarding in quotations because quite honestly, our dog got to be part of Charity’s family for the week, and it probably felt more like a spa and playful summer camp to our dog than boarding. We usually send our dog to stay with family or friends the one time per year we actually get to leave town. So we were anxious sending her off via Rover for our first time. Charity is super sweet, kind, clearly loves animals, and definitely knows how to handle them. Our anxieties were immediately at ease when we met her and her family. She further eased them with daily photo updates, and she even wiped our dog’s eyes with warm towels due to some allergies! Ya’ll, this dog had it better during boarding than she did on our farm. Our dog is a husky and though pretty chill for that breed, I’m 100% confident in Charity and trusting in all her abilities to handle and care for any pup. She loved on our dog like it was her own. She also was very flexible when our flight home was delayed and we had to extend an additional night. We certainly recommend her and would definitely use her again.”
