“We were looking for an option for dog boarding that wasn’t a kennel. I took our dog to meet Johnnica and her dogs to see if it would be a good fit. It felt like a great fit and our dog had a great weekend playing with her dogs and a couple other boarding dogs. I also appreciated the flexibility in coordinating drop off and pick up times. Kennels tend to have very restrictive hours for that and we didn’t want to have our dog stay an extra night away from us if it wasn’t necessary. While we were able to be there by 5pm she was flexible.”

“Mary Grace was a godsend to our family. Our beloved and notoriously mischievous 11 year old /70lb shepherd mix is prone to stress and can’t be comfortably boarded in a facility. He is also getting older, so he struggles with separation anxiety and requires frequent walks and intellectual stimulation. Mary Grace was a perfect fit. She is extremely competent and conscientious. She met both Ranger’s needs as a full time companion (walks, feeding, engaging) and my needs as a concerned parent (pictures, updates, etc). It’s the first time we’ve traveled in years that I was not constantly worried about Ranger. I would not hesitate to book with her again or to recommend her to others. She is amazing and I’m so grateful for how well she cared for our boy.”

About: I’ve worked with animals for as long as I can remember. I used to train hunting dogs and have fostered for paws regularly. I am used to watching dogs of all ages. I am a mom to a 3 month old and I am currently in nursing school. I am home most of the time other than the occasional errand and one 1.5 hour class on Tuesdays. My fiancé works during the day and is home by 4, so we go on lots of walks at the parks with our own dogs. I love to keep my dogs active and their mind busy. I will treat your fur baby like they are my own, if they are allowed on the furniture, I will cuddle with them. If they need to be crated , I have no problem crating them. If they need medication I have no problem giving it to your baby. I was raised with an aunt that is a veterinary technician so I spent a lot of time at the vet clinic with her learning how to handle animals and give them medication.

I am a stay at home mom so, unless I’m dropping kids off at school or taking them to practice I’m home all day to meet the needs of your precious ones! I have a fully fenced in back yard with lots of space to roam, run, and sniff. Since I’m home all day, I’m able to let pups out whenever they want or need!

I will not provide transport for animals other than cats or dogs and cats and small dogs must be tolerant of being crated for the ride. I am great at working with your schedule with at least 2 hours notice, but Rover does not allow easy schedule changes. If you need to reduce your visits, CANCEL the booking and REBOOK with your new dates, as once Rover confirms your booking it won’t let you reduce the current rate. In your home, I offer basic cleaning services and can ensure any messes get cleaned. I can meet many varied needs and am meticulous with following your house rules for your pets. I do not offer boarding or allow client pets at my home. I will not provide food or other consumables, though I will confirm what treats your pets can have because all good pets deserve treats. I provide basic behavior assistance such as teaching your dog that jumping on people is inappropriate, basic tricks (sit, down, paw), leash manners, but I DO NOT OFFER PAID TRAINING. I am not a certified trainer in any capacity, though I have trained many of my own animals (including rats and cats!)
About: I’ve taken care of many pets since I was young: fish, cats, dogs, birds, you name it! I have 1 dog of my own that I’m currently leash training and teaching basic commands. I would be more than happy to help out with training if requested! I’m currently home from college for the summer, I’m very flexible on my availability and times you’d like me to check on your baby. I love walking dogs, lounging with cats or just coming over to let them out and play for a little while! I am very aware of surrounding whether I’m walking or letting pets outside to do their business. I am able to crate your fur baby if needed and am very capable of following strict food diets (if they have one)!
About: Experience includes growing up with a mini farm to raising sugar gliders in college and now having my two yorkiepoo fur babies for the last 6 years. My toddler son and I have been doing drop in visits for our neighbors dogs for a couple years now and really enjoy the cuddles and play time! I’m a SAHM so my schedule is pretty open 7 days a week for drop by visits to include walks, potty breaks and play time. Having an open schedule makes it easy to pop over to your home to let your furry loved ones out to stretch their legs, be fed, play some ball, get tummy rubs or for walks. My two small sons are always with me but one spends most of his day snoozing while my 2 year old toddler would love nothing more than to throw the ball 100 or more times for your furry friend.
About: I’ve been asked to pet sit for a variety of pets over the years. Anywhere from cats and dogs to bearded dragons and horses! I’m a quick learner and can adapt just as fast to match whatever needs are required. I also own two mixed dogs and an orange tabby cat myself. I am a newly wed who recently moved into town and am still getting settled. Until I get connected with my work, I have a TON of free time! I’d love to get to be surrounded by fur babies as much as possible! I love to let the critters set the pace when getting to know me. I believe there needs to be an established bond of trust before anything else. And I LOVE to love on them once they let me! I can never get enough pets and snuggles! I want them to feel as though I’m a friend and family member rather than a stranger. And the same goes for their human parents too! I love to connect with my clientele and keep them updated as much as possible to ensure they feel confident that their babies are taken care of :)

It felt like a great fit and our dog had a great weekend playing with her dogs and a couple other boarding dogs. I also appreciated the flexibility in coordinating drop off and pick up times. Kennels tend to have very restrictive hours for that and we didn’t want to have our dog stay an extra night away from us if it wasn’t necessary. While we were able to be there by 5pm she was flexible.”

About: I'm a full time professional dog trainer, and located on 4 Acres near Brookstone in North Columbus, my house the only legally operated, state-licensed, and insured home kennel offered on Rover. My personal dogs are a Mini-Schnauzer name Cricket, Doberman named Domino, and a Pointer named Marley. Training dogs is my full time job. I own my own business, The Barkitekt, and founded the Columbus Kennel Club. I have 6 years of experience working with dogs, puppy foundations, resource guarding, and behavior issues that take real experience to handle safely. I primarily train service dogs and sometimes sport dogs. I'm comfortable with puppies, seniors, dogs on medication, and large or strong breeds. This service is not a training program. I do not board reactive dogs that have not been trained through this program, this included dogs that have not been crated before. Please reach out for help with training this. Dog training is my full time job and I work from home, so your dog isn't alone waiting for me to get back from an office. I'm here all day, every day. I send video updates daily so you know how they're doing, and I'm reachable by text or email if you want to check in. I have four acres. Two are fully fenced, so dogs get real off-leash room to run in a secure space. The other two are wooded and unfenced with a couple of running streams. I treat boarding dogs the way I treat my own, which means the same basic house expectations: sitting before the door opens, waiting to be released, calm manners around food. It isn't formal training and I don't charge for it or promise it as a service, it's just how my house runs. That said, owners fairly often tell me their dog came home a little easier to live with.
