“This is the first time we've boarded our 8 year old lab since he was a puppy. Our son has always come to stay with him so to say we were apprehensive is a bit of an understatement. However, from our first visit to Mary Kate's property, we loved her and so did Augie. His tail was up from the moment we got out of the car. He roamed around the property and then she took us inside. Both Augie and we were very comfortable. She messaged us with pictures while we were away and he was happy but not frantic when we returned. We went out of town 2 days after we left him the first time and when we took him back over, he walked right in with no problem. About: As far back as I can remember I’ve owned or cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, fish, hamsters you name it and I’ve probably cared for it. I love dogs the most and currently own three. I went to Tennessee State for Animal Science Pre Veterinary Medicine where I learned animal husbandry. I used that experience to go on to be a vet tech as well as a pet bather and trainer. I am current K9 detection dog handler and trainer. I have experience with high drive dogs as well as nervous dogs and puppies. I can work with any and every dog, from fearful to aggressive. I also offer DeShed nail care and bathing services. DeShed services is when I remove the shedding undercoat that comes out usually during the change of seasons. It prevents mats and painful tangles which not only can relive pain and odor, but also keeps them cool during the warm summer months. It’s a very good alternative to shaving, which actually makes them hotter because their fur keeps the sun off of them . Animal Husbandry is my profession as a K9 handler. Your dogs will be treated like assets they are. It’s an hourly routine as animals respond to predictability which lowers stress levels which leads to better boarding experiences. I spend an hour minimum playing at a higher energy with animals, and we take a trip outside (for walkable babies). When we are back inside, it's more wind down time before dinner. My best friend has a mini Australian shepherd that is very friendly and I love being around him. I also have watched my brother and sister in law’s dogs for 2 years now. About: I’m a retired wildlife biologist with lots of time and interest in taking care of animals. I’ve had dogs and indoor (mostly) cats most of my life and thus I’m fully used to scooping poo, sweeping up kitty litter, etc. You will not return to a minefield in the yard or a messy litter box I’m retired and thus available often. You can count on me to spend quality time with your pets, not just feed and go. I look forward to meeting them I like animals more than most people, haha, and will care for them with great focus. However, from our first visit to Mary Kate's property, we loved her and so did Augie. His tail was up from the moment we got out of the car. He roamed around the property and then she took us inside. Both Augie and we were very comfortable. She messaged us with pictures while we were away and he was happy but not frantic when we returned. We went out of town 2 days after we left him the first time and when we took him back over, he walked right in with no problem.
