“Hello Rover,, I'm new to the area and just moved into my house a month ago. Needing a cat sitter, my daughter told me to look on Rover. When i first logged on to your site, I saw Jennie's kind smile and that she was close by. So I figured it would be a win win. Boy, did I get way more than I bargained for!! I don't even know where to begin to express my gratitude and appreciation for Jennie! First, I'd like to thank her for taking care of my cat under more than extreme circumstances! I never thought I could ever get such impeccable service. The story has a twist and becomes even more extraordinary. On my recent trip, on the third day I left the country. Something told me to message Jennie and let her know I could only receive messages from messenger. As I did, I asked if everything was OK. She responded "your cat is ok". This is what followed. Evidently some sort of "Super Cell" developed and decided to dump approximately 6 inches of rain in 45 minutes on my house! Jennie saw how bad the sky looked over my way and decided to make the trip over. What normally is a 5 minute ride turned into 20 due to the rain coming down so hard she couldn't see the road. Upon her arrival, the water was 6 to 8 inches above the threshold, so she didn't want to open the door. She left and came back later to find my downstairs flooded! The water had started to receed and little Miss Wonder Woman jumped into action and advised me step by step as I, near hysteria, hung on her every message, knowing I couldn't get back til Monday (this happened Friday evening !) She moved furniture and pulled out rugs as her daughter and cousin swept the water to the street. She secured my cat in the upstairs and did her best to calm her. Jennie went out and rented a rug cleaner and cleaned my large area rug ( just a cat sitter?! Whatever!!). She turned on fans and cleaned everything she could!! Not once did I ask her to do anything --- she just took care of everything. When I asked her why she did it, her response was, "That's how I was raised, you help people". At that moment I could have kissed her parents on the mouth! My cat is now healed from the trauma, still skittish, but that's to be expected. The house is getting back together, but it would have been a total loss without Jennie's help. About: I have had dogs my whole life. From puppy all the way up to old age. I love them and I treat them as if part of my family. We go for walks daily. We go to the park and play a few times a week. And When I had My St. Bernard she used to love when I would take her swimming at the beach!! I work from home so your loved one WILL NOT be without attention!! From then on I've been infatuated with helping them. That's become quite the task as I'm a mother now of 2. Having your own "pets" is just having a bigger family in my eyes. I've always been the friend that takes in pet guests so they can go out of town. Or house sit if necessary beings all the different types. I figured why not make a job of it!! Pet care is extremely important! I use this time daily even for snuggle time to make sure no one even our own furries are left out. It fits in just like breakfast. It's extremely important and can become very meditative. I treat guest pets with as much love and freedom as our own. I'm in a very wooded area and our pup never ventures too far and guides the other dogs around and plays with them to get them back in. He's very clever. However I would never let a guest be unleashed while unattended. While your away I like to take all opportunities to improve! Unleash time is a HUGE start and is always impressive. These simple tasks once mastered can save you pups life if ever left unattended unleashed in a new scary place. I intend to help even if it's for one day we can work on just having fun and playing inside and talking walks in the outdoors together! About: Hello my name is Kaylin, I am from Ohio and grew up around animals, especially dogs/cats. Nextdoor was a Veterinary hospital where I sought out volunteering in the interest of helping animals. As a child, I imagined I would work with animals in some way. When I was 6 years old, I decided to brush our Jack Russel Terrier’s teeth with a toothbrush!
