They took care of my dog made him feel so at home and loved that it feels like he prefers them over me (wait a minute, is this a good thing?). About: I not only grew up around dogs, but I’ve worked in animal shelters and a pet resort, where I was responsible for the needs of dogs and cats. I earned 44 hours of volunteer work at the Humane Society in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I., where I gave tours to potential dog owners. I worked at Pet Suites and LifeLine, where I ensured all pets received their food and/or medicine in a timely manner. I have fostered dogs for Angels Among Us and found homes for all of them. I also take an interest in dog training. I’m not a licensed trainer, but I enjoy teaching dogs manners and tricks. I currently work part-time Tuesday through Thursday from 9 AM to 5 PM, which means I have open availability in the mornings, evenings, and full availability on Fridays through Mondays. I’m very organized and plan my schedule carefully to ensure every pet receives the time, care, and consistency they deserve. I live in a pet-friendly apartment with other dog neighbors. There’s a lot of grass surrounding the complex. While at work, I prefer letting dogs roam unless they need to be in a crate.

However, I may modify or shorten the visit if continuing would increase stress or create a risk of injury. This is never done as punishment. It is a safety decision intended to prevent escalation and protect everyone involved. Any significant concerns will be clearly documented and communicated to you. 🛏️ Crate or confinement requirement for boarding For boarding stays, dogs must be comfortable resting safely in a crate, exercise pen, gated room, or behind another secure household barrier. This is a firm boarding requirement. At night, during meals when separation is needed, and anytime dogs cannot be directly supervised, boarding guests will be safely confined. This gives every animal appropriate space to rest and ensures all pets remain secure while I am sleeping, showering, completing household tasks, or briefly away from home. Crates and gated spaces are always used as calm, neutral resting areas, never as punishment. If your dog normally uses a crate, pen, gated room, or another confinement routine at home, please share the details with me so I can keep their stay as familiar and low-stress as possible. Dogs do not need to love being crated, but they must be able to tolerate safe confinement without panicking, attempting to escape, or injuring themselves. If your dog is not currently comfortable with any form of secure separation, boarding may not be the right fit at this time. In that case, drop-in care in their own home may be a safer and more comfortable alternative. This is non-negotiable.

I have given IV treatments to ailing cats with kidney damage and experience with dispersing meds/pills by mouth. I will treat all your loved ones with the same care that I provide my own. I am retired; I work independently from home and have a lot of free time. I am looking for some fur babies to take care of so their guardians can feel comfortable leaving them. I will treat all dogs and cats like my own and I take their care very serious. If that means sending daily videos or pictures to their guardians to put them at ease, I am happy to do just that. I am happy to feed, water and clean pet areas as part of my home visits. I will scoop litter boxes as well. I take their health seriously and fresh water/food is a very important part of staying healthy. I find no ask unreasonable and will check in with pet parents as often as requested.

About: I not only grew up around dogs, but I’ve worked in animal shelters and a pet resort, where I was responsible for the needs of dogs and cats. I earned 44 hours of volunteer work at the Humane Society in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I., where I gave tours to potential dog owners. I worked at Pet Suites and LifeLine, where I ensured all pets received their food and/or medicine in a timely manner. I have fostered dogs for Angels Among Us and found homes for all of them. I also take an interest in dog training. I’m not a licensed trainer, but I enjoy teaching dogs manners and tricks. I currently work part-time Tuesday through Thursday from 9 AM to 5 PM, which means I have open availability in the mornings, evenings, and full availability on Fridays through Mondays. About: I always had dogs growing up in my household and have so much love for them & all other animals. I do have a dog myself & have lots of experience with dog behaviors, medications, dog food, etc. I am a 4th year Animal Science student on a pre-veterinary track at UF & I’m a veterinary assistant at an amazing clinic. When I can, on my free time, I also take the time to volunteer at the Humane Society of North Central Florida. I’ve dogsitted many years for friends & family. I do know how expensive doggy daycares & boarding can be so I wanted to sign up and help pawrents that need a more affordable option. When I’m not working, I have lots & lots of time to hang around your pups, give them company, or just simply walk them! If you have any specific requests, I’m more than happy to accommodate however you’d like. I do live in an apartment so I don’t have a yard but I do walk my girl 3 times a day & she can help keep your baby company. I also have a dog crate and can use it for your pup if you’d like. On some days, I take my baby to the dog park for an hour and can have your pup tag along if you feel comfortable with that.

We have two more short trips planned in the next 2 months and (hopefully) Darby will be available. Darby sent us photos daily (nice touch I may add) and she has plenty of space in the backyard and a very nice attitude. We'd definitely like to use her often in the future!”
