Additionally, I can teach them tricks such as giving paw, sitting, laying, etc. I have experience from puppies to senior dogs as I know they required different type of care. In the past I volunteered as a fur baby foster parent and was fur mommy to a beautiful girl "Chula" 🐶 we adopted in 2000 and sadly after 17 years got her wings. My family and I always include our fur babies in everything, at holidays, sometimes it seemed to be more dogs 🐶 of all sizes then people 😊. Quick story: One day, I noticed my mom’s chihuahua-papillon mix, Jacques Cousteau, scrunching his face as he tried to eat crunchy food. I went to PetSmart and brought home the healthiest soft food I could find. When he braced himself to bite into it but didn’t hurt his old teeth, he ran over and jumped onto my lap, licking my whole face until I was laughing, knowing he felt seen. He gained a few pounds over the next few weeks (6 pounds to 9, 50% more!). I was so happy that he could eat again without pain. He lived to be about 15 years old! For a chihuahua, that’s a very long happy life. I will treat your dog like it’s my own. Please share any special care needs with me. I am able to be very attentive. Your dog will be my top priority. I cater to special needs. Happy to send photos throughout the day. We treat them like family and have 4 responsible adults who share the space, all love dogs. I am happy to help care for your pet/pets in your home in the best way possible, depending on their needs and personality. I have fun taking dogs for short walks or for longer adventures 🌎, at a slow pace or jogging. I also always enjoy playing with dogs or cats 🎉, or just hanging out with them and checking on them if they're in a more chill mood. I walk dogs rain or shine and will dry their fur afterwards (as long as you and your pup are comfortable with the rain!) I always love getting to see multiple animals at once, and other cute critters like birds, rodents, reptiles, and fish are always welcome too! I am experienced in administering a variety of medications as well, and I am certified in delivering pet CPR and first aid. ◾️ Boarding pets in someone else's home can be a great option as well in some cases. I am unable to offer boarding at this time since I live in a small apartment, but my dream is to board all the animals once I have a house with a backyard! 🏡
About: Hi, My name is Maarten and twenty-nine years ago, I applied for an internship at Artis, a zoo in Amsterdam. As luck would have it, I didn't get the job and life took me in a different direction. Now I am 45 years old and fate has finally delivered me to a spot where I can get back to my childhood dream of working with animals. I grew up in a household filled with animals: dogs, cats, guinea pigs, fish, rats and parrots. This nurtured a wide knowledge of animal care. Over the years, we've had 9 dogs, all of which I trained myself. At the moment, I am raising a 1.5 year old German Shepherd and a 6 month old BullMastiff mix. I want to say that over the years, dogs have grown especially close to my heart. To be honest, they have completely taken over. At the moment, I work part-time as a kennel attendant for S.A.F.E. Pet Rescue. Although I consider it a dream job, my long-term goal is to open up my own doggy daycare. Approach to Dog Walking: I believe that every dog is unique and deserves the utmost care and respect. I approach dog walking with a big smile and a warm heart. My goal is to create a fun and lively experience for your dog, making each walk a joyful adventure. During our walks, I'll ensure your furry friend's safety and well-being, while also encouraging positive behavior. Wednesday and Thursday I work for S.A.F.E. Animal Shelter. The rest of the week I am available between 08:00 and 15:30. Evening visits can be planned by special request. The safety of your pets and property are my main focus. About: Howdy! I’m a EMT student trying to incorporate my love for animals in with keeping in shape for my next career. I’ve lived and worked on farmland all my life — I’m not phased by aggressive *livestock*, much less a reactive dog! I spend a lot of my time currently training dogs for people in need, and working with shelters to help their nervous dogs develop some adoptable skills. I’ve also been volunteering with disabled animals (wildlife and domestic alike) since I was in middle school, in rehab facilities and as a home foster, and I’m very accustomed to delivering meds to all the most resistant patients. They’re a part of my daily function — they eat when I eat, I don’t go for runs without them, and if I’m going to any pet-friendly store they can behave in, they’re already in the car. My pets and any others in my care are not only my first priority in terms of safety, but in fun! My career and lifestyle has had me naturally trained in pet aggression and reactivity, including muzzles and muzzle training, crate training, heavy leash pulling etc.
