“Laquitta and James have been our "go to" Rover for several trips now. We like to refer to our fur baby as a velcro dog because she sticks so close to us. But it also means there aren't many Rovers she's happy about visiting. Laquitta and James are the exception. Though she's always happy to see us at the end of her stay, she loves hanging with Laquitta and James and their little fur babies.”
About: I have over 20 years of experience in pet care both professional and personal combined! Everything from small animal care to equine care. I have spent the last 15+ years working in doggy day care and boarding facilities and have worked with all types of temperaments and behavioral concerns. If a boarding stay must be ended for safety reasons, care may be converted to drop-in visits at your home for feeding, potty breaks, and companionship whenever possible. 🚗 Premium pick-up and drop-off For added convenience, I offer pet transportation as an optional add-on. I can personally pick up or return your dog along my existing daily route, allowing you to leave your dog comfortably at home without coordinating an in-person handoff. This service is priced accordingly to reflect the additional time, travel, and personalized care involved. ⛔ Important booking policies * One complimentary meet and greet is included for new clients * Additional meetings should be booked as a walk or drop-in to cover time and travel * Every pet receiving care must be listed on the Rover booking * Bookings should be confirmed within 48 hours of the meet and greet or the requested time may be released * House-sitting and drop-in bookings follow a seven-day cancellation policy * Availability is not guaranteed until a booking has been formally confirmed by you. through Rover. My goal is to be both your pet’s advocate and your peace of mind while you’re away. 🚨 Safety and stress policy Safety is always my top priority, both for your pet and for me. If a pet displays aggression, extreme fear, severe anxiety, or behavior that makes a visit unsafe, I will still make every reasonable effort to ensure their essential needs are met, including food, water, medication when safely possible, and potty access. However, I may modify or shorten the visit if continuing would increase stress or create a risk of injury. This is never done as punishment. It is a safety decision intended to prevent escalation and protect everyone involved. Any significant concerns will be clearly documented and communicated to you. 🛏️ Crate or confinement requirement for boarding For boarding stays, dogs must be comfortable resting safely in a crate, exercise pen, gated room, or behind another secure household barrier. This is a firm boarding requirement. At night, during meals when separation is needed, and anytime dogs cannot be directly supervised, boarding guests will be safely confined. This gives every animal appropriate space to rest and ensures all pets remain secure while I am sleeping, showering, completing household tasks, or briefly away from home. Crates and gated spaces are always used as calm, neutral resting areas, never as punishment. If your dog normally uses a crate, pen, gated room, or another confinement routine at home, please share the details with me so I can keep their stay as familiar and low-stress as possible. Dogs do not need to love being crated, but they must be able to tolerate safe confinement without panicking, attempting to escape, or injuring themselves. If your dog is not currently comfortable with any form of secure separation, boarding may not be the right fit at this time. In that case, drop-in care in their own home may be a safer and more comfortable alternative. This is non-negotiable.

About: I was raised to meet the emotional needs of pets in my care, and nurture who they are. My dad trained dogs, and I learned to speak in a way they understand. Because I work from home, I am able to be very attentive. My yard is fully fenced in, and I live with four other responsible adults. A quick story from the pandemic: My parents have a Chihuahua-Pomeranian mix name Jacques. One night when it was just him and me, I noticed it looked like he was straining to eat his crunchy food. He was always picky, but that day I noticed him straining to chew like when we bite into a Gobstopper. I picked him up and drove him to PetSmart. We bought Bil~Jac, the softest, healthiest dog food available for a dog his size. “12 pounds of fresh chicken in a 15 pound bag,” it said. This is not an ad, I swear. I remember the first time he tried his new food. He looked at his bowl, looked at me, looked back at his bowl... then, jumped off the chair where he eats, ran and jumped onto my lap, excitedly licking my whole face! Jacques gained 3 pounds in the next month or so, and he was only 5 pounds before we switched food! I love seeing him healthy and happy. My goal is to treat everyone else’s pets like they are members of my family. Because it isn’t always easy to trust a stranger, I believe that it is more important than ever to be accountable and responsible for anyone under my roof. They all deserve my deepest level of care. I work from home as a full-time entrepreneur, and absolutely love animals! I set my own schedule, take good notes and photos, and am very detail oriented. I have a fully fenced in yard and a reliable car. Whether you need to drop your dog off somewhere safe, or need someone reliable to check in, I am someone you can count on.

About: I have had and taken care of dogs of all age ranges over the years. I used to foster and take in rescues, so I’m used to all types of doggie personalities, sizes and ages. My dogs are like my children, and I will treat yours with the same love and care as my own. I am experienced with smaller and bigger dogs, and am adaptable to whatever their routine and needs may be! About: Growing up my family always had cats and dogs, so I’ve been around them my whole life. Pets bring so much love and fun into your life, they are a part of the family and they are so important. About: I love Rover! I mean, what better job exists than to get paid to spend time with other people's animals? My name is Dan, and I have been around animals my whole life. Currently I am a cat dad of two girls, but I am also comfortable and familiar with dogs, rabbits, and other animals as well. I currently live in a large three bedroom. The property is out in the country, but only a few miles away from Gainesville, so it's far enough to be away from the sounds and stress of the city without really being in the middle of nowhere. It's not the fanciest place, in need of remodeling, but it is calm, comfortable, and pet friendly. There is no smoking inside. The property is not fenced, so I will be keeping everyone inside, except for supervised walks, etc. I am able to board cats, most dogs, and other animals as well. I work from home in addition to doing this, so when I do have a furry guest, I am home twenty four hours a day. I like to actually spend time with the animals I have visiting, so if you have a super playful dog- or one that just likes to hang out on the couch next to someone- I'd probably be a good match. If I am not boarding anyone at the moment, I can walk dogs, feed cats, etc, as well, as long as you are not too far away from where I live. Things I require: 1. I need to meet your animals first (especially for dogs). 2. If I don't feel comfortable , or I feel like an animal is not comfortable with me, I will not confirm the booking. Animals are just like people, we all have those we like and don't like, so don't take it personal if I decline a booking. 3. I do need emergency contact and vet information. I hope I never have to deal with any emergency, but it is better to be prepared and ready, than to be running around scrambling if something does happen. 4. Of course, I need as much food, etc, as is needed for the stay. Things I offer: 1. Lots of attention. Of course, some animals- especially some cats- aren't really keen on it, and that's okay! But if they are, I love to play with my guests! 2. I don't mix animals from different families. 3. I don't charge extra for extra cats, and I only charge a little bit extra for extra dogs. I have been doing this off and on for some time now, and while I don't have as many clients as I want to have, my reviews are good and solid for a reason. I have my own two cats who take up all my time when I'm not out taking care of other people's animals, or otherwise working. The only time I'm usually not available is if I have already made prior commitments. I treat animals like they are children, because to me, they are. My own two are my favorite people in this world, but I love animals in general. I especially enjoy cats, friendly dogs, and giant rabbits. 😃 I like to treat each cat, dog, rabbit, etc, as the unique personality they are. Some cats, for example, are a little more standoffish than others. The best thing to do with them is to not push them. Nobody cat or human likes someone standing in front of them demanding attention ! Some dogs, for example, are very laid back and really just want to lay next to you and snuggle. Others are always ready to play! I am knowledgeable about safety, and when I am doing a drop in visit, I always keep an eye out for anything that doesn't look right. When I am dog walking, I like to go places that are less traveled, I keep my attention fully on them, and on everything going on around us. When I am with your animals, they are my first and only priority.

About: I not only grew up around dogs, but I’ve worked in animal shelters and a pet resort, where I was responsible for the needs of dogs and cats. I earned 44 hours of volunteer work at the Humane Society in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I., where I gave tours to potential dog owners. I worked at Pet Suites and LifeLine, where I ensured all pets received their food and/or medicine in a timely manner. I have fostered dogs for Angels Among Us and found homes for all of them. I also take an interest in dog training. I’m not a licensed trainer, but I enjoy teaching dogs manners and tricks. I currently work part-time Tuesday through Thursday from 9 AM to 5 PM, which means I have open availability in the mornings, evenings, and full availability on Fridays through Mondays. I’m very organized and plan my schedule carefully to ensure every pet receives the time, care, and consistency they deserve. I live in a pet-friendly apartment with other dog neighbors. There’s a lot of grass surrounding the complex. While at work, I prefer letting dogs roam unless they need to be in a crate.
