“Nacho is a very selective Chihuahua who immediately adored Nicole. He exhibited none of the signs of anxiety he generally does when he meets someone new (or even someone he has met several times). He accepted Nicole as one of his special people and behaved as well (if not better!) for her than he does at home. Nicole sent us photos of Nacho napping, taking walks and looking completely adorable while he was in her care; we could see how content he was and were able to have peace of mind while we were traveling. Nacho will definitely be staying with Nicole the next time we need a dog sitter.”

About: It was never quiet growing up with as many as four dogs in the house at a time (plus a cat, bird, hamster, turtles, geckos, and fish - and working at a local horse barn throughout high school and college). It’s not quiet now as my senior rescue dachshund loves to let you know when the mail lady has dared to leave a package on the porch. All that to say, I’m comfortable and have always been around a variety of pets. Since Dec. 2023, I’ve been a volunteer dog walker for Humane Animal Partners (HAP), in Rehoboth. There, I’ve walked countless dogs, ranging from ones who are ready to take on the world to ones who need to know you’ve got their back and need you to go slow. I have experience taking care of older dogs, my first rescue was 9 when I got him and my current rescue is 11 and a slow mover. I work from home during normal business and have some flexibility during the day depending on the day. I can do overnight stays during the work-week, but need to discuss your pet’s daytime needs to make sure it’s a good fit. I’m happy to give your dog the time and attention s/he needs to be as relaxed as possible while you’re away. Between having shy dogs of my own and volunteering at the animal shelter, I give dogs space and allow them time to sniff and warm up to me before we go out. I’ll take your lead as to things I need to know about what makes your dog’s personality shine.

Well I’ve been around dogs since I was born because my grandparents love dogs too but I was 8 years old when my mom bought our first dog. Then after that they just kept coming haha! Everyone knows me as the dog lover because I really do think they are the cutest animals ever! I work from home so I’ll be able to be with the dogs at all times. I won’t ever leave the dog alone for more than two hours. I will always be by the dog and giving it lots of love! Feeding is as instructed and take the dog out every 2-3 hours.

About: Ive had dogs in my family ever since I was a kid. I have a 10 year old pit mix, a 13 year old husky, and a 1 year old husky, so I know how to care for multiple dogs at once and dogs of all ages, including puppies. I will care for your dog the way you would. I will take them on as many walks as youd like, and treat them as if they were my own. I get along very well with all dogs and I have plenty of experience. I dont trust my dog with just anybody, so I know how important it is to build that trust with your dog and to not change their comfortability and routine. I work from home, so I am free for as many walks or as much play time as needed! I am available all day every day, and your dogs will be my first priority. I can go on as many walks as needed, depending on the age and activity level of your dog. I have experience crate training my own dog if you need me to do that. She was super friendly right from the first message and offered to do a meet and greet, which immediately put us at ease. Piper took to her right away! During her stay, Piper had an absolute blast. Michelle went above and beyond—she even took Piper on her boat (with my ok, of course!), made her homemade treats (always double-checking ingredients with me first), and ended the stay with a fun little crabbing adventure and a relaxing bath. About: I love dogs and up until 3 months ago I had a rescue dog for 8 years until she developed serious medical issuse and I had her euthanized. I miss here and she was spoiled and I will do the same for your dog. I will provide plenty of walks and a nice fenced in backyard where your pet can roam free to do whatever. I allowed my dog to have free roam of my house, and your pet will have the same freedom, and I have a nice porch where your pet can lay outside and enjoy the sights. I am 75 and a retired RN. I live alone so my schedule is very flexible, with the appropriate notification. I am an early riser so your pet will be let out back first thing in the morning, then - 2or 3 walks during the day. I have a fenced in backyard and a fenced in deck above the garage so your pet can be safe in either one of the locations.
