About: I've had pets since I was 6, ranging from an older Jack Russel Terrier, shy/abused German Shepherd/Rottweiler, and now a hyper Pitbull! I accept the personalities of all animals I currently work a full-time job. I have flexible lunch breaks and can contribute to care within the 11-1 PM schedule. I am available after 3:30 PM until 8 PM every weekday if given 2-3 days notice. On weekends, if I am not traveling, I can be flexible. I am an early riser!!! “This is about the 4th time that Kate has taken care of my precious mini Schnauzer. This was a 10 day visit. My Schnauzer is so warm and loving but she can be shy. She is very cooperative and loves Kate. She had not seen Kate for over 5 months and when we drove up, she gave a howl of recognition and delight. Needless to say, my dog pulled me into the house. We had a vacation and so did my dog. Kate is genuinely kind and caring. She sends me photos daily and does not hesitate to ask a question. If you need a dog sitter in the Media area or for that matter, I suggest driving to have Kate take care of your precious dog. I knew Kate before I knew she was on Rover. About: I am a lifetime lover and owner of dogs. While other kids watched Saturday morning cartoons, I watched shows about dog training and dog breeds. I grew up around dogs of all types and have always loved having one by my side. Our family recently lost our dog, and while I’m not ready to commit to dog ownership full time, I miss having one around and want to help other families. I have experience walking different types of dogs that have varying levels of leash skills, managing special dietary and medication needs and can adapt to their activity requirements. If you have a dog that’s used to being part of an active family, or at least around one, I could be a great fit for you. I shared availability that accommodates long weekend boarding needs. This is when I consistently work from home or am off so that I can be around and give your dog the best care. You can expect regular breaks and walks for your dog on my work from home days. On the weekends, I will include your dog in my family activities. While busy, I am at our home base a lot, and much of the activity involves walking the borough, going on mini adventures in nearby parks, or hanging at our house with friends. Including a furry guest into my family-centered lifestyle is easy (and fun!) for me to do. I have a fenced in yard, live in an extremely walkable neighborhood, and have a gated off mudroom when your dog needs a little more space or down time. My kids understand animal boundaries well for their age and are used to respecting their space. While they will not be responsible for your dog’s care, they will be around. My cat is suspicious, but typically tolerant of dogs once he gets used to them.
“It is a bit more difficult to find a knowledgeable pet sitter for a bully breed and Sam is great. We just had adopted Nox a few month back before I had to go on a business trip - Nox and I haven't figured out each other completely yet and Sam was great taking my concerns in consideration. Communication was good (very responsive) and I never had the feeling I have to worry about Nox at all. We definitely will book Sam again in the future!!”
