About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my hands-on experience with both training and senior care. I trained my own dog, who is now 12 years old, and I currently care for him as he experiences arthritis. This has taught me how to recognize signs of discomfort, adjust activity levels, and provide daily massages to keep him comfortable. About: I've had dogs since I was 10 and participated with their health care growing up and decided I wanted to be in the veterinary field from that point. I started pet sitting for a farm in 2017-2021. I went to school to be a veterinary assistant in 2020. I later got a job at a vet clinic in 2021 and started pet sitting for clients there on the side. I've had 4 years experience with observing animal behavior and know what to look for when a pet is feeling ill, restraint, nail trims, administering medications, injections, and treatments. I also worked for a summer at a dog boarding facility and have experience with observing play behaviors to prevent fights from breaking out in groups. I just recently quit my full-time veterinary assistant job in October 2025, due to workplace drama and still have some regular pet sitting clients from the vet clinic, but thought I'd give this a shot to widen my clientele. If you like my services, I encourage you to contact me outside of Rover! I can only take on other dog friendly dogs in my house because I have 2 myself. I'm willing to go to your house for visits if they're not dog friendly. I have an unfenced yard, so any dogs staying with me will go outside on a leash. Dogs must be crate trianed to stay at my house. My dogs stay out when I go on errands or out for the evening, but get locked up at night.

Now I’m living in a rental that doesn’t allow animals, so I’m hoping to find some local pets to care for and spend time with! From the moment Yarrow arrived, I could tell she was in great hands. I honestly think Yarrow believed she was on her own little vacation lol. She absolutely adored Suzanne, her wonderful kids, and the other dogs. Every update showed a happy, relaxed dog living her best life. One of the things I appreciated most was Suzanne’s communication. She sent updates, pictures, and little stories that made me smile and let me know exactly how Yarrow was doing. If you’re looking for someone who will care for your dog as if they’re her own, look no further. Five stars simply aren’t enough. I’d give 10 stars if I could!”
“Melissa was very easy to deal with and our dog Sammy seems to have had a great time with her. Melissa gave us several updates on Sammy and sent us lots of pictures of her adventures. I would definitely recommend Melissa to anyone.”
