About: I have over 30 years experience with dogs working with my mother who bred Golden Retrievers since 1990 at Maplenook Goldens. I've also worked through my college years with over 5 families pet and house sitting and loved it! Also worked with Ledgewood Kennels and taken obedience and breed handling classes at Southlands in Rhinebeck NY. I would love to have a part time job and working and training dogs is my dream job. About: I've taken care of dogs for the past 8 years. We (my husband and I) have rescued and adopted 3 dogs all within the past 5 years. We live on a large piece of land and have plenty of room to play fetch and go on walks. We even have a stream for a little dip or sip. We are patient and love to play over here. I believe cuddles and attention are extremely important! I work from home so I am around a lot and am always with the dogs, they are never alone. About: As a retired Registered Nurse and a caretaker for my senior dog, I am comfortable with senior dogs, meds, general assessments and caring for special needs dogs and cats. As a country mom of four children, we had two horses, chickens, four rabbits, three cats and at times snakes and salamanders under my kids’ bed...without knowing…at any time, any of these critters if not already in our house, could be in our house! My longest sit was three months as a ranch sitter in Colorado, I cared for two horses, two donkeys, chickens, three sheep, two lambs, a cat and dog. Currently, I sit locally for friends and family…walks, day care and overnights. I’m available most days to walk, play, sit or just hang out with your pets! I do travel to see family, best for all to reach out ahead of your desired dates and services. I am available on a case by case basis for overnight sits in my home. Currently, I don’t have a dog or a cat which gives me flexibility. My yard is not fenced, I walk all dogs on the leash. I take the lead/instructions from the owners. Taking care of animals is truly my passion whether it be in my hospital, at home or for family and friends, all pets truly get treated as if they were my own. I do have hour lunches if needed. Also I will add since making my profile active again, I am a single mother to a adorable 14 month old little boy. So with that being said I would only be able to book house sittings when he is with his dad. ALL pets in my care are treated like my own. “Janice was the absolute best when we left our mini dachshund Bean with her for a few days over the Christmas holiday. Bean is kind of nervous at times and requires a lot of human love and care which Janice and family provided in abundance. Usually Bean gives me the cold shoulder when I leave him overnight but he was not mad at all when I picked him up. The property is beautiful and Janice was extremely responsive including sending pictures! Would absolutely recommend Janice for anyone needing someone to care for their dogs. “I can't say enough great things about our experiences with Jennifer. I've left my dog Peachy with her 3 times now, this last time being over a week. I got so many picture and video updates throughout and I could see how comfortable and happy my Peachy was.
