About: I have taken care of a variety of animals, starting from a young age. My parents had a little farm and a love for Boxers, a very high energy breed. I have a preference for Great-Danes and other gentle giants, but I love all dogs! Our 1.5 acre backyard is fenced and ready for your pet to play, potty, and chill with our 8 year-old graying pup, Olympus. I walk my pet one mile everyday and often run another mile on my own since my dog is elderly and cannot run with me. Meals are twice, sometimes three times a day. I clean the floors, rugs, and all doggie blankets once a week to maintain a hygienic environment. I work from home so I am always around. I have a flexible schedule that can fit your pups needs. I can manage high-energy pups and dogs with separation anxiety. I have an insurance plan through Pet Care Insurance.
“Virginia had been one of the best dog sitters we’ve had. She came through in a pinch when we had a last minute cancellation from the person who was going to watch our senior dog. Virginia sent updates and made sure our little gal was well taken care of. She’s got a great setup for dogs with plenty of indoor and outdoor space. We will definitely use her again in the future!”
About: I’ve worked professionally with dogs for over 20 years providing pet care and dog training, holding multiple dog training certifications with the leading organizations in the country (KPA-CTP, CPDT-KA, CTC). I offer limited-capacity boarding in my home on a quiet 3-acre property near the Durango Airport. Keeping my group small allows me to provide personalized care, enrichment, exercise, and plenty of downtime. Whether your dog loves activity or prefers a quieter environment, I tailor their stay to help them feel safe, comfortable, and at home. Every boarding stay includes: • Complimentary pickup and drop-off within the Durango, Bayfield, and Ignacio areas • Regular photo and video updates • A bath before your dog goes home • Care from an experienced professional who understands canine behavior My goal is simple: to provide a safe, comfortable stay for your dog and peace of mind for you. Because I keep my boarding group small, availability is limited. Reserve your dog’s spot early by scheduling a meet and greet. Reach out today to book your dog’s stay! Pet care is my full-time profession, and I tailor each day to fit the needs of the dogs in my care. Because I keep my boarding group small, every dog receives personalized attention, enrichment, exercise, and plenty of downtime. Dogs spend their days enjoying a balance of outdoor time, supervised play, walks, enrichment activities, and relaxation indoors. I pay close attention to each dog’s personality, preferences, and comfort level so I can provide a safe, low-stress experience while you’re away. My goal is for your dog to feel at home, and for you to have peace of mind knowing they are receiving attentive, professional care throughout their stay. Safety is my top priority. As a professional dog trainer, I carefully manage introductions, supervise interactions, and pay close attention to each dog’s body language and comfort level. My home features a large securely fenced yard for outdoor time, play, and potty breaks. Dogs stay in the home as part of the family and have access to rest areas, quiet spaces, and appropriately sized kennels when needed for meals, bedtime, or individual downtime as needed. I keep my boarding group small so I can give each dog the attention and management they need. Dogs are never forced to interact and always have opportunities for rest, quiet time, and personal space. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable environment where every dog can relax and enjoy their stay.
“We left our Brittany Spaniel, Rudy with Lori for 16 days - longer than we would like to be away from our baby, and although we missed him, we were never worried about him. Lori is great at communicating promptly and sending pictures. Her house is in a quiet forest setting, which worked well for our dog who likes peace and quiet. Highly recommend.”

“Jenny has been an amazing dogsitter for us. We have started using her every time we go out of town. Our 3 dogs have very different personalities. One is old, one is a very large puppy, and the third doesn't love to play with other dogs. Despite their differences, she has been able to manage them seemlessly. She is caring and truly loves our dogs. She sent lots of pictures so we could se how cuddled and happy they were. I would highly recommend Jenny's services.”
“Darek was fantastic with my pup! She was a happy girl when I picked her up. On top of that, my trip ended up getting extended two extra days and Darek was so helpful and communicative during the whole process, it took a huge weight off of my shoulders as a pet parent! Definitely recommend him as a sitter and will be using him again!!”

“Was able to vacation worry-free. Puppy was happy healthy and well taken care of. Michaela is great with animals and I hope she will be watching my dog during any future trips. Have no reservations about leaving your dog with her.”

“We loved William and Amanda. They sent lots of photos and they have a great space for pups to be inside and outside. Lizzie had a fun stay and was well cared for. We will use them again when we come back to Durango.”

About: I have been working with animals since I was a child! I grew up on a farm with horses and our trusty yellow Labradors, learning from an early age the true meaning of taking care of others. I love providing dogs the happiest experience - I find such joy when playing, running, skiing, or hiking with dogs and seeing the BIG smile on their faces! Any pups that stay with me, my husband, and our goofy dog, Miles, will have a fantastic time, as well as guaranteed adventure (as appropriate!). When your pup stays with us, he/she will never be left alone and will be treated as one of our own. Having fur-babies of our own, I understand the importance of knowing that your pup is well taken care of according to his/her needs. We hope to see you soon! I work full-time from home with a flexible schedule. Considering this, your pup will never be left alone and enjoy our company (and snuggles) 24/7. I have a flexible schedule and will update my calendar weekly as needed regarding my availability. Our home is located in Rafter J on three acres, ~10 minutes from downtown Durango. We have one dog named Miles, a seven-year-old Weimaraner who has a goober personality and LOVES to play with other dogs.
“Savannah was wonderful with Alice during her four-night stay! She communicated consistently, sent updates, and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. Most importantly, Alice absolutely loved her and came home happy and well cared for. I would definitely book with Savannah again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter for their dog.”

“Devon took such great care of Maia for us and the bonus was that she had a new playmate to go on walks with in a beautiful area. She had the best time and we’ll definitely be back soon!!”

“Thanks Tarah for Ranger’s visit. Sounds like he had a wonderful adventure filled visit. He was definitely tired but happy when we picked him up. We would love to have you watch him again!”

“We knew that Jackson took great care of our dog just by the way she interacted with him when we picked her up (obviously gave her lots of loving attention). He kept us informed on how she was doing, kept her busy with walks and socializing with other dogs. Jackson is now our Rover go to!”

“Ansley was awesome! She was very communicative and sent adorable pictures and updates of Luna throughout her stay, and took Luna to do lots of fun activities. Her dog was also great with Luna! I felt like Luna was in great hands while I was traveling. I will definitely plan to book with Ansley again.”

“Nichole is a wonderful sitter!! We boarded our white Golden Retriever, Kodiak with her while we were at Wanderlust Squaw and got wonderful photos back from her! It was like leaving your dog with a professional photographer. Some of the photos we got back we are framing:) She is a kind and patient sitter and you can tell she really LOVES dogs. She also has a white Golden Retriever ("English Cream") and the two pups got along famously! We'll be using her services again if we are up that way!!”

I have done foster care for puppies, kittens, and special care senior animals alike. I’m a quick learner and dedicated to the absolute best for your pet. I can provide pet services within or outside of regular business hours- let’s discuss your pets needs and I can likely fit them in to my schedule, no problem! “Andrew is fantastic with our shy cats and super reliable. He has great communication and sends us lots of cute photos of our girls! We'll definitely have Andrew watch our kitties again!”

About: I have experience taking care of my own cats and others since I was young. I am good with cats of all kinds and I find it incredibly important to respect their space and go at their pace. I've had great success with getting shy or aggressive cats to open up and become comfortable with me. I have never taken care of a hairless cat but I would love to meet one and learn the unique aspects of their care as well.
About: I’ve worked at a couple of veterinary clinics as a receptionist and also helped with kennel care, which gave me valuable experience handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I’m comfortable reading dog behavior, keeping them calm in new environments, and making sure they feel safe and cared for. I understand how important it is to follow routines, give attention to detail, and treat every pet with patience and love. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or quiet companionship, I’ll make sure your dog feels right at home. I’m currently balancing a part-time job and my own business, so my schedule can vary week to week. I’ll always be clear about my availability in advance and do my best to accommodate your pet’s needs. Reliability and communication are really important to me, and I make sure each pet I care for gets the time and attention they deserve. I provide care in your home so your pet can stay in a familiar, comfortable environment. I always follow your instructions closely — from feeding schedules and walks to any routines or quirks that help your pet feel secure. I take extra care to keep doors and gates locked, make sure water bowls stay full, and give plenty of love and attention while you’re away. My goal is to help your pet feel safe, relaxed, and cared for until you’re back home.
“Madeline did such a great job taking care of our Beau kitty and home while we were away on a family trip. She sent so many pictures daily with detailed updates and stories about how he was doing. Though he was a little wary at first, he seemed to warm up bit by bit as time went by, and I think by about the time we were ready to come home he was sad to see her leave. We came home to a happy kitty thanks to her! She also watered my flowers for which I was so grateful :-)”

About: I’ve had animals my whole life. I have always loved animals and my freinds, neighbors, and family always ask me to care for their furry loved ones! I’m currently working only a couple shifts a month at my other job, so I can be reliable and flexible with many different schedules to fit your needs! In my clients home I will be sure the pets have the food/water their owners desire, and I would love to play and run the energy out of your pets during the day while your at work!
“We are very happy with the service that Julia provided. We will be calling upon her in the near future. So wonderful to leave our old kids in the hands of someone reliable and caring. Thank you!”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats since I was about 10. I have had different breeds of dogs such as Schnauzer, Poodle, Maltese, and an Australian Shepherd/lab mix. I have experience in taking care of multiple animals at a time and some experience administering medication to senior cats and dogs. I am going to be doing gig work so my schedule is as flexible as it needs to be. I can sit or drop in during the morning, day or evening. Since I will be taking care of pets in your home, I would utilize what is at my disposal as far as taking dogs out whether that's a fenced in yard or on a leash. I'd like to have a meet and greet to get to know where the food is kept and learn if your pet has any particulars when it comes to feeding, playing, etc.
About: I have had dogs my whole life! I believe it is important for your dog to get exercise on a daily basis to stay happy and healthy! Cuddles are huge in our home! I can help with any training or senior care that is needed as I have had many dogs of all ages :) I’m currently working part-time so I will have plenty of time to spend with your four legged fiends! I do offer boarding and I do have another dog to keep your babies company:) I have a balcony that I usually will leave the door open to and I have a big grass area to take them potty every 2-4 hours on leash! I also can crate your dog if needed :)
“Patty was great:) One of my cats needs an inhaler and one can be kind of aggressive, but when she sat them for a week, she figured out Mazzy’s inhaler and was patient with LeeLoo. I’ll reach out to her again in the future:)”

About: Hello! 👋🐾 I’m Ben - newly settled in Durango, CO after two years exploring Europe. I grew up in the English countryside surrounded by animals, so caring for pets has always been second nature to me. 🌿🐑🐶 I’ve worked with everything from farm animals to family pets, most recently working with Secondhand Hounds shelter in Minnesota helping care for dogs and cats waiting for their forever homes. 🐕🦺🐱💛 I’m comfortable with all breeds, all sizes, and all personalities - energetic adventurers, gentle giants, seniors who need a softer pace, and even pups with quirks or nerves. My experience includes walking, grooming, potty breaks, basic care, and medication support. 🚶♂️🧼💊 I’ve recently moved back to the U.S. after living in the UK for several years. In the US, I worked along side several pet adoption/rescue agencies & volunteered at shelters. I follow your pet’s normal routine and your instructions exactly! Feeding, walks, meds, and house rules. I keep a close eye on safety, stress, and comfort, whether I’m in your home or they’re with me. Your pet stays supervised, secure, and treated with the same care I’d give my own.

“Kristina has been a godsend for my puppy and I. She and her husband have helped to train my puppy, socialize, and exercise her. She comes back happy and exhausted every time. Not only is my puppy cared for, but Kristina is reasonably priced, able to accommodate my wacky schedule, and conveniently located. I'm not someone who typically leaves reviews and I couldn't recommend these guys enough.”

“Ansley is the sweetest and best! She send me several photos throughout the day and I could tell Simba was having a blast and made new friends. I would definitely recommend and will use Ansley’s care again in the future. :)”

“Lori was fantastic. I had a last minute change, and needed a new Rover for my two dogs. She responded quickly, and my dogs had an absolute wonderful time playing with her and her dogs.”

“Chris and his wife and his fur babies were the best pet sitters! Chris is super friendly, he loves his pets, he loves his pet guests, and they are spoiled while they are with him! He has a wonderful woodsy backyard with lots of freedom to roam. There are dog beds available and if your dog needs a nap, it looks super comfy! He texts photos of your dogs throughout the day to show you how happy they are. I would not hesitate to use him, in fact I would search him out!”

“We were so happy to have found Jenny. My dog Freya and her pup Luna had a blast playing, napping and hanging out at Jenny's place. Jenny was responsive, communicative, and accommodating. Freya can't wait for her next doggie daycare or overnight! We highly recommend Jenny (and Luna) :-)”

About: I’ve been a pet owner for nearly 30 years — from growing up with our family’s Border Collies and house cats, to raising my own Jack Russells throughout adulthood, to caring for two rescue kittens in college. I’m equally comfortable with dogs and cats of all personalities and needs. What sets me apart is the range of care I’ve provided. I’ve raised a Jack Russell puppy from the wild, zoomie-filled stage into a well-behaved, confident adult, so I’m patient, consistent, and great with puppies who need structure and gentle training. I’ve also cared for a 17-year-old senior dog during his end-of-life stage, which taught me how to support pets who need slower routines, medication, and close, intuitive attention. I fostered an entire litter of puppies and their mom from an overcrowded shelter, so I’m familiar with round-the-clock care, monitoring, and meeting shy or sensitive animals where they are. Between that and my own lifelong pet experience, I’ve worked with animals at every life stage and energy level. I’m single with plenty of free time, which means your pets get steady attention, affection, and a calm, reliable presence while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because of the flexibility I have in my career. I’m a real estate agent with a team beneath me, which means I create my own schedule and have other agents I can rely on if I’m ever occupied. That gives me plenty of space in my days for walks, check-ins, playtime, and consistent attention. I’ve actually considered getting another dog over the last couple of years, but I haven’t felt ready for the full-time commitment again. A friend suggested I join Rover as a way to support other pet owners in the community while still getting to pour my love, energy, and care into animals — and it’s the perfect fit. Your pets get someone who’s genuinely excited to spend time with them and has the availability to be fully present. I’m very affectionate and hands-on with the pets I care for — they get plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship. I genuinely love walking, so having a dog join me on my daily walks is the best part of my routine. Whether it’s a neighborhood stroll, a peaceful loop along the River Trail, or a fun outing to the Smelter dog park, I make sure pets get the activity and stimulation they need. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their routines closely so everything feels familiar and comforting. I’m attentive to feeding schedules, potty breaks, behavior changes, and whatever little rituals make each pet feel at ease. My goal is always to create a safe, loving, and engaging experience — whether they’re with me for a few hours or a few days.
“We dropped our fur baby off while we went to the Durango train for the day! The whole family was welcoming and we felt so comfortable leaving Kobe with them. Gave us several updates and I know our dog had fun playing with theirs! Thank you for an amazing first-timer Rover experience!”

About: I have had dogs in my life since I was a child and have adopted 2 rescue puppies here in Durango. I have looked after friends and my parents' dogs as needed. Daily dog walks - I take our 2 dogs on hikes/walks every day, so your furry friends will fit right in! Personalized attention – I only take one client at a time (up to 2 dogs from same client) and our household is semi-retired so your dog(s) will never be left alone. Safe, fenced yard for off leash play. Convenient in town location. I know firsthand how hard it can be to find sitters you truly trust. I live in town in Durango and have noticed that there are very few local sitters who take dogs on walks. That’s exactly what I'm offering - a comfortable home environment with walks, a yard and no crates. My home is located right in town, with a secure fenced in yard where dogs can run, play, and relax. No long drives out of the way — just easy drop offs and peace of mind. I have two friendly dogs who love to play, we are all very active and will take your pup on regular daily hikes. Whether your pup loves chasing toys or lounging in the sun, they’ll have company and enrichment here. I built this service around what we ourselves struggled to find in Durango: sitters who combine excellent care (daily walks) with in-town convenience. Your pup will be treated like family, with space to play and friends to bond with.

“Mallory and Jonathan are the absolute best— in every possible way. My dog is wary of new people but they had her totally comfortable and loving them within the first two minutes!! In addition to their clearly loving and being fantastic with animals, they are also totally reliable, go the extra mile, are mature and responsible, and are just lovely people. I can’t say enough good things about both of them!”

About: I have a senior pup back home, we rescued her years ago and now she’s living her best life all spoiled with seasonal bananas. I have another 4 year german shepherd who’s high functioning and interactive, I love taking him to the dog park and out for pup-cups. I have lots of free time between classes to check on/walk your puppies! If your pups need more supervision I’d be happy to stay at the house between classes to keep your pets company. Your pet would always be in my sight when we’re outside, and I’d follow your instructions for them inside. I clean up after myself and I pack my own snacks.
About: I am a working professional that will be doing this for some fun and extra income. This will be my first time doing pet care for people I do not know. In the past I have helped friends and neighbors when they were leaving town by watching their animals. In the past I ran my own cleaning business and often did minimal animal care while cleaning homes. I have a dog myself (Indie) and can understand the stress that comes with hiring a pet sitter or kenneling your pet. I hope I can help to provide a stress free option for pet care. You can be confident your animal will be getting the best possible care while you are away. I am offering walks in your neighborhood or longer hikes in the area accompanied by my dog, drop-in visits, and overnight sitting at your home. I wish I could offer boarding at my house but my landlord will not allow other dogs in my home. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about me please don't hesitate to contact me! I have a flexible schedule with my career than allows me to get out of the office to take breaks and walk or care for animals. I take trust very seriously. As someone who used to run a cleaning business I know how important it is to trust who you’re working with.
“Andy was great. He came by to meet our girls first and then back the next day for a walk. He really let us enjoy our day up to Silverton on the Steam Engine railroad. Highly recommend him.”

“Julia is great! She's one of those people who you like the moment you set eyes on her. It's obvious that she loves dogs and is not shy about showing it. Because I had such faith in Julia, I was able to enjoy a night out with my friends without having to be concerned about my two dogs. I highly recommend Julia, and I will certainly choose her again when I need a sitter.”

“We booked another Rover dog walker to take care of our dog while we were in Durango. After we arrived, we contacted her to come out and meet our dog. She had contracted COVID so we told her not to worry about it. We contacted several more walkers and Kimberly was able to walk our dog the next day. She came out early in the morning to meet him, then came out three more times to take care of him while we took the train to Silverton and back. On the train, we decided to try a horseback ride the next day. We asked Kimberly if she could let him out again the next day and she could. Kimberly was friendly and able to take care of our dog on really short notice. We really appreciated her flexibility and availability.”

About: Hi! I'm Kendall, and on top of having dogs of my own for the majority of my life, I have three years of professional pet care experience. Working at a dog day care and boarding facility gives me experience with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, special feeding instructions and giving medications, grooming, training, and much more. I am also pet CPR and First Aid certified. I currently am working ski school at Purgatory a few days a week, and would love to take your dog on walks, runs, or hikes, or just a cuddle on the couch. I have a large car that can accommodate any size dog(s), so I can pick up animals for boarding if needed. I live in a house with a fenced in back yard, and am walking distance to hikes and the river path. I can't wait to meet you and your dog! I am currently teaching ski school at Purgatory, so my schedule is pretty flexible, especially given advance notice. I live in downtown Durango so have pretty easy access to almost anywhere! I live in a duplex with a fenced in backyard with room to play. Depending on your pet's needs, we can play in the yard, or go on hikes or walks in the neighborhood.
About: I have raised 4 Labrador Retrievers from puppies, and have done the same with 2 horses. With that, experience comes a lot of knowledge and love for these animals on a daily basis. This has become a crazy world after COVID, but with each new challenge comes new opportunities. With a flexible schedule at this time, I am available to meet the needs of those individuals who need to get away. At home, my pets are family. The same love, kindness and care applies, if your home is your furry pets oasis, and I have the means to get there in bad weather..
