“Kristine took such great care of our doggie. We got photos and detailed reports every day. The property was perfect for having a dog. Our piggy has a home when we travel.”

About: I have taken care of a variety of animals, starting from a young age. My parents had a little farm and a love for Boxers, a very high energy breed. I have a preference for Great-Danes and other gentle giants, but I love all dogs! Our 1.5 acre backyard is fenced and ready for your pet to play, potty, and chill with our 8 year-old graying pup, Olympus. I walk my pet one mile everyday and often run another mile on my own since my dog is elderly and cannot run with me. Meals are twice, sometimes three times a day. I clean the floors, rugs, and all doggie blankets once a week to maintain a hygienic environment. I work from home so I am always around. I have a flexible schedule that can fit your pups needs. I can manage high-energy pups and dogs with separation anxiety. I have air conditioning and I have an insurance plan through Pet Care Insurance.
“There are not enough thank yous for Virginia. Our senior golden hurt her knee and Virginia took over and rendered care like one of her own. She was so helpful and communicative with me. No doubt in my mind we’ll contact her again when we revisit Durango.”

“Allena took very good care of our puppy! Great communication throughout, and many good photos. Now that we're home Tubbs seems so happy and contented, it's obvious he had a comfortable and lovely stay.”

“Amber was great! Our dog is very nervous around new people but we felt very comfortable leaving her in Ambers care for the day! Appreciated the great communication leading up to and during the stay.”

“Fred came home so happy! Him and Jackson had a fantastic time hiking, snuggling, and hanging. Jackson was great to send us pictures and updates. He was also very accommodating with pick up and drop off times. We are grateful that Fred has a new trusted pal.”

“Jenny has been an amazing dogsitter for us. We have started using her every time we go out of town. Our 3 dogs have very different personalities. One is old, one is a very large puppy, and the third doesn't love to play with other dogs. Despite their differences, she has been able to manage them seemlessly. She is caring and truly loves our dogs. She sent lots of pictures so we could se how cuddled and happy they were. I would highly recommend Jenny's services.”

My goal is for your dog to feel at home, and for you to have peace of mind knowing they are receiving attentive, professional care throughout their stay. Safety is my top priority. As a professional dog trainer, I carefully manage introductions, supervise interactions, and pay close attention to each dog’s body language and comfort level. Dogs stay in the home as part of the family and have access to rest areas, quiet spaces, and appropriately sized kennels when needed for meals, bedtime, or individual downtime as needed. “Savannah was wonderful with Alice during her four-night stay! She communicated consistently, sent updates, and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. Most importantly, Alice absolutely loved her and came home happy and well cared for. I would definitely book with Savannah again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter for their dog.”

“Couldn't have had a better experience. William sent messages and photos to make sure I knew The Dude was not just in good hands, but relaxed and having fun. Knowing Dude was well taken care of made my trip so much sweeter. Great communication. Great care. Great experience.”

“Ansley was awesome! She was very communicative and sent adorable pictures and updates of Luna throughout her stay, and took Luna to do lots of fun activities. Her dog was also great with Luna! I felt like Luna was in great hands while I was traveling. I will definitely plan to book with Ansley again.”

“Darek was fantastic with my pup! She was a happy girl when I picked her up. On top of that, my trip ended up getting extended two extra days and Darek was so helpful and communicative during the whole process, it took a huge weight off of my shoulders as a pet parent! Definitely recommend him as a sitter and will be using him again!!”

“Heather did such an amazing job with our dog, Bruno! It was such a relief to know that he was having so much fun and being so well cared for while we were gone. We were afraid that he wouldn't want to come back home! She also sent the most amazing pics of him for us to enjoy! Thank you so much! Bruno can't wait to stay again!”

“Thanks Tarah for Ranger’s visit. Sounds like he had a wonderful adventure filled visit. He was definitely tired but happy when we picked him up. We would love to have you watch him again!”

“Nichole is a wonderful sitter!! We boarded our white Golden Retriever, Kodiak with her while we were at Wanderlust Squaw and got wonderful photos back from her! It was like leaving your dog with a professional photographer. Some of the photos we got back we are framing:) She is a kind and patient sitter and you can tell she really LOVES dogs. She also has a white Golden Retriever ("English Cream") and the two pups got along famously! We'll be using her services again if we are up that way!!”

“We are very happy with the service that Julia provided. We will be calling upon her in the near future. So wonderful to leave our old kids in the hands of someone reliable and caring. Thank you!”

About: I’ve worked at a couple of veterinary clinics as a receptionist and also helped with kennel care, which gave me valuable experience handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments. I’m comfortable reading dog behavior, keeping them calm in new environments, and making sure they feel safe and cared for. I understand how important it is to follow routines, give attention to detail, and treat every pet with patience and love. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or quiet companionship, I’ll make sure your dog feels right at home. I’m currently balancing a part-time job and my own business, so my schedule can vary week to week. I provide care in your home so your pet can stay in a familiar, comfortable environment. My goal is to help your pet feel safe, relaxed, and cared for until you’re back home.
“Trista stayed with my young, sociable cat on short notice for 5 nights. She was communicative and responsive. Trista took care of my space and left it just as she found it -- including washing the sheets on the bed. I came home to a happy and well-cared for kitty. I wholeheartedly recommend Trista as a pet sitter. Thanks Trista!”

“Madeline did such a great job taking care of our Beau kitty and home while we were away on a family trip. She sent so many pictures daily with detailed updates and stories about how he was doing. Though he was a little wary at first, he seemed to warm up bit by bit as time went by, and I think by about the time we were ready to come home he was sad to see her leave. We came home to a happy kitty thanks to her! She also watered my flowers for which I was so grateful :-)”

About: Although I only recently started caring for cats, I’ve spent years taking care of many different animals and learning how to be attentive and gentle with pets of all personalities. I currently have a cat in my home, so I’m becoming more experienced with daily cat care, feeding routines, playtime, and making sure cats feel comfortable in their environment. I understand that every cat is different, and I’ll always do my best to make them feel safe, calm, and cared for while you’re away.

About: I have experience taking care of my own cats and others since I was young. I am good with cats of all kinds and I find it incredibly important to respect their space and go at their pace. I've had great success with getting shy or aggressive cats to open up and become comfortable with me. I have never taken care of a hairless cat but I would love to meet one and learn the unique aspects of their care as well.
About: I have had dogs my whole life! I believe it is important for your dog to get exercise on a daily basis to stay happy and healthy! Cuddles are huge in our home! I can help with any training or senior care that is needed as I have had many dogs of all ages :) I’m currently working part-time so I will have plenty of time to spend with your four legged fiends! I do offer boarding and I do have another dog to keep your babies company:) I have a balcony that I usually will leave the door open to and I have a big grass area to take them potty every 2-4 hours on leash! I also can crate your dog if needed :)
About: Hey there! I love animals and helping others. I am looking to walk your dog or visit your cat in my downtime. I have experience with all kinds of animals. From doggos to snakes, cats, rodents and everything in between like birds and horses. I have flexible availability and can even take same day requests. Feel at ease knowing someone is caring for your family member during the holidays. I am super loving and offer genuine care for your pet while you’re away. I love to play with your trusty companion and offer love to them as you would.
About: I have had pets of all kinds since I was born. I currently have three puppies of my own that I am raising. I've had fish, cats, snakes, turtles, and more. I especially love dogs. I also have experience caring for disabled dogs and pets who have special needs. My three puppies come out to a combined weight of 240lbs! They are very high energy and I can walk them (yes all at the same time), however, I prefer bringing them to the dog park! If you would like me to take your dog to the dog park, that can be arranged! Otherwise I can run/walk your dog in your neighborhood or in another place of your preference. Feel free to ask! I have another part time job working from home, which takes up my mornings, but the afternoon is play time! I love going to the dog park with my dogs! I've probably met you there! If not there, we may go to the lake, hike, or for a stroll around the neighborhood. I have a good amount of free time that can be dedicated to caring for your lovely animals. I will follow all instructions as they are special for each pet and their own personal needs. I understand some pets may need medication or are disabled and need help with basic functions. I can run with dogs if need be, or I can walk at a slow pace with elderly dogs. Just let me know how they like to walk. May your pets guide me.

About: I’ve been a pet owner for nearly 30 years — from growing up with our family’s Border Collies and house cats, to raising my own Jack Russells throughout adulthood, to caring for two rescue kittens in college. I’m equally comfortable with dogs and cats of all personalities and needs. What sets me apart is the range of care I’ve provided. I’ve raised a Jack Russell puppy from the wild, zoomie-filled stage into a well-behaved, confident adult, so I’m patient, consistent, and great with puppies who need structure and gentle training. I’ve also cared for a 17-year-old senior dog during his end-of-life stage, which taught me how to support pets who need slower routines, medication, and close, intuitive attention. I fostered an entire litter of puppies and their mom from an overcrowded shelter, so I’m familiar with round-the-clock care, monitoring, and meeting shy or sensitive animals where they are. Between that and my own lifelong pet experience, I’ve worked with animals at every life stage and energy level. I’m single with plenty of free time, which means your pets get steady attention, affection, and a calm, reliable presence while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because of the flexibility I have in my career. I’m a real estate agent with a team beneath me, which means I create my own schedule and have other agents I can rely on if I’m ever occupied. That gives me plenty of space in my days for walks, check-ins, playtime, and consistent attention. I’ve actually considered getting another dog over the last couple of years, but I haven’t felt ready for the full-time commitment again. A friend suggested I join Rover as a way to support other pet owners in the community while still getting to pour my love, energy, and care into animals — and it’s the perfect fit. Your pets get someone who’s genuinely excited to spend time with them and has the availability to be fully present. I’m very affectionate and hands-on with the pets I care for — they get plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship. I genuinely love walking, so having a dog join me on my daily walks is the best part of my routine. Whether it’s a neighborhood stroll, a peaceful loop along the River Trail, or a fun outing to the Smelter dog park, I make sure pets get the activity and stimulation they need. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their routines closely so everything feels familiar and comforting. I’m attentive to feeding schedules, potty breaks, behavior changes, and whatever little rituals make each pet feel at ease. My goal is always to create a safe, loving, and engaging experience — whether they’re with me for a few hours or a few days.
“My 2 dogs took to Carole the minute we stepped in the door. I felt very comfortable leaving my dogs with her for the day. They were very well cared for. Communication was very good while scheduling the visit and the day of services. I highly recommend Carole!”

“Ansley is the sweetest and best! She send me several photos throughout the day and I could tell Simba was having a blast and made new friends. I would definitely recommend and will use Ansley’s care again in the future. :)”

“Lori was WONDERFUL! I was visiting the area for the day and needed another for my anxious pup. We were able to do a virtual meet and greet and Ethel was introduced to the pups slowly on her day with Lori! Ethel had SO much fun. Lori was an excellent communicator and so reliable. Thank you again Lori!”

“Becca was great! Will definitely be using her next time we are in town. Our dog was able to play with hers and relax outside throughout the day. He did not want to leave his new friend when we picked him up. Would 100% recommend!”

“Chris was great. Really nice, accommodating, and easy to coordinate plans with. If we are ever back in the area and need another dog sitter we will definitely contact Chris again.”
“We dropped our fur baby off while we went to the Durango train for the day! The whole family was welcoming and we felt so comfortable leaving Kobe with them. Gave us several updates and I know our dog had fun playing with theirs! Thank you for an amazing first-timer Rover experience!”

“Amazing first time Rover experience! Our puppy had so much fun and was loved and played with. We will absolutely use Gabriela and Joshua next year for our annual camping trip.”

About: I am every pups favorite Auntie because I am patient, very loving, and well trained with different breeds, personalities and age ranges. I have experience working with rescue dogs as well as therapy dogs. I am a very active person and love an excuse to get outside and walk, hike, play as much as possible. I have a natural sense as to what the animals are feeling and capable of. I find the company of animals to be significant and always enjoyable. I will most definitely love and take care of your dog with undivided attention as if it is my own. If there's anything you practice at home with your pet, I will certainly help to enforce any rules, training, habits, you wish to maintain.
“Jenny was very accommodating about drop off and pick up time. She communicated promptly in setting up the day care. She sent pictures of Lefty having fun and playing throughout the day. He obviously had a great time with Jenny, her dog Luna, and guest dog Reuben. I highly recommend Jenny and would bring Lefty back to her any time I'm in the area. Thanks Jenny!”

About: I have grown up with animals and taken care of animals my entire life. Grew up on a small farm and have worked with all types of pets. My schedule is very open in the mornings and most evenings. I sometimes work on weekends but very flexible. I go to Durango an Bayfield. I can crate dogs, walk dogs, hike with dogs and just love on dogs. Take dogs on runs, hikes and car rides. Able to do just about whatever is needed.
“We booked another Rover dog walker to take care of our dog while we were in Durango. After we arrived, we contacted her to come out and meet our dog. She had contracted COVID so we told her not to worry about it. We contacted several more walkers and Kimberly was able to walk our dog the next day. She came out early in the morning to meet him, then came out three more times to take care of him while we took the train to Silverton and back. On the train, we decided to try a horseback ride the next day. We asked Kimberly if she could let him out again the next day and she could. Kimberly was friendly and able to take care of our dog on really short notice. We really appreciated her flexibility and availability.”

The same love, kindness and care applies, if your home is your furry pets oasis, and I have the means to get there in bad weather..

“Mallory and Jonathan are the absolute best— in every possible way. My dog is wary of new people but they had her totally comfortable and loving them within the first two minutes!! In addition to their clearly loving and being fantastic with animals, they are also totally reliable, go the extra mile, are mature and responsible, and are just lovely people. I can’t say enough good things about both of them!”

About: Hello! 👋🐾 I’m Ben - newly settled in Durango, CO after two years exploring Europe. I grew up in the English countryside surrounded by animals, so caring for pets has always been second nature to me. 🌿🐑🐶 I’ve worked with everything from farm animals to family pets, most recently working with Secondhand Hounds shelter in Minnesota helping care for dogs and cats waiting for their forever homes. 🐕🦺🐱💛 I’m comfortable with all breeds, all sizes, and all personalities - energetic adventurers, gentle giants, seniors who need a softer pace, and even pups with quirks or nerves. My experience includes walking, grooming, potty breaks, basic care, and medication support. 🚶♂️🧼💊 I’ve recently moved back to the U.S. after living in the UK for several years. In the US, I worked along side several pet adoption/rescue agencies & volunteered at shelters. I follow your pet’s normal routine and your instructions exactly! Feeding, walks, meds, and house rules. I keep a close eye on safety, stress, and comfort, whether I’m in your home or they’re with me. Your pet stays supervised, secure, and treated with the same care I’d give my own.
I’ll always be clear about my availability in advance and do my best to accommodate your pet’s needs. Reliability and communication are really important to me, and I make sure each pet I care for gets the time and attention they deserve. I provide care in your home so your pet can stay in a familiar, comfortable environment. I always follow your instructions closely — from feeding schedules and walks to any routines or quirks that help your pet feel secure. I take extra care to keep doors and gates locked, make sure water bowls stay full, and give plenty of love and attention while you’re away. My goal is to help your pet feel safe, relaxed, and cared for until you’re back home.
“Andy was great. He came by to meet our girls first and then back the next day for a walk. He really let us enjoy our day up to Silverton on the Steam Engine railroad. Highly recommend him.”

“Julia is great! She's one of those people who you like the moment you set eyes on her. It's obvious that she loves dogs and is not shy about showing it. Because I had such faith in Julia, I was able to enjoy a night out with my friends without having to be concerned about my two dogs. I highly recommend Julia, and I will certainly choose her again when I need a sitter.”

About: I've been an animal lover all my life. I started watching rabbits, cats, dogs, and turtles when I was just a kid. I now have a 2 year old Heeler-Great Prynees mix that I've raised and trained from 12 weeks old! Indy is the light of my life and best friend to all. He is extremely friendly and playful with great communication and boundaries. I also was foster parent at the local shelter for eleven different dogs ranging from 4 weeks to 12 years old. I took care of these dogs for an extended period of time until they could find loving forever homes. I have plenty of experience caring for, feeding, walking, cuddling, managing reactive dogs, and training. As a self employed individual, I'm available to work within your schedule and would love to take your pups on long hikes or simple give them some belly rubs on the couch. I also offer additional dog training for $75/hr whether it's just for an hour or during a sit. I am self employed and extremely flexible! I can walk dogs at any point during the day and am available for home visits at anytime. For boarding, I'll be with your dogs almost the entire day. I don't have a fenced yard but I do have excellent trails right across the street from my house and a kennel in my house for dogs that need to be confined when left home alone. I live in a very safe neighborhood .
