“Amber was so amazing with my two dogs, including my young crazy puppy! She sent lots of updates and pictures, which was very comforting while on our trip and was so accommodating for both my doggies. I was very happy knowing they were being loved and spoiled just like the would at home ❤️”
“Jacob and his boys did an amazing job dog-sitting Tesla overnight! She was happy, well cared for, and clearly felt comfortable with the family. In fact, she didn’t even want to leave when we came to pick her up! It’s obvious he genuinely loves and cares for dogs. I would absolutely trust him with Tesla again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter.”

About: I’ve worked professionally with dogs for over 20 years providing pet care and dog training, holding multiple dog training certifications with the leading organizations in the country (KPA-CTP, CPDT-KA, CTC). I offer limited-capacity boarding in my home on a quiet 3-acre property near the Durango Airport. Keeping my group small allows me to provide personalized care, enrichment, exercise, and plenty of downtime. Whether your dog loves activity or prefers a quieter environment, I tailor their stay to help them feel safe, comfortable, and at home. Every boarding stay includes: • Complimentary pickup and drop-off within the Durango, Bayfield, and Ignacio areas • Regular photo and video updates • A bath before your dog goes home • Care from an experienced professional who understands canine behavior My goal is simple: to provide a safe, comfortable stay for your dog and peace of mind for you. Because I keep my boarding group small, availability is limited. Reserve your dog’s spot early by scheduling a meet and greet. Reach out today to book your dog’s stay! Pet care is my full-time profession, and I tailor each day to fit the needs of the dogs in my care. Because I keep my boarding group small, every dog receives personalized attention, enrichment, exercise, and plenty of downtime. Dogs spend their days enjoying a balance of outdoor time, supervised play, walks, enrichment activities, and relaxation indoors. I pay close attention to each dog’s personality, preferences, and comfort level so I can provide a safe, low-stress experience while you’re away. My goal is for your dog to feel at home, and for you to have peace of mind knowing they are receiving attentive, professional care throughout their stay. Safety is my top priority. As a professional dog trainer, I carefully manage introductions, supervise interactions, and pay close attention to each dog’s body language and comfort level. My home features a large securely fenced yard for outdoor time, play, and potty breaks. Dogs stay in the home as part of the family and have access to rest areas, quiet spaces, and appropriately sized kennels when needed for meals, bedtime, or individual downtime as needed. I keep my boarding group small so I can give each dog the attention and management they need. Dogs are never forced to interact and always have opportunities for rest, quiet time, and personal space. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable environment where every dog can relax and enjoy their stay.
“Maia had a great time with Truman. She had 3 walks a day and was excited to see him when he returned. He was very reliable and communicated with us well. We will definitely board her again with him!”

“Lori has a great space for the dogs and genuinely loves what she does. Her own dogs seem very friendly and ours were happy to be around her during pickup and drop-off. Will definitely be back! She is also very responsive and keeps you up to date with photos while boarding your dogs.”

“I was so happy to meet Ginia. It was Easter weekend and wasn’t sure if anyone would be able to watch my pups for a few hours. Ginia was available and quickly responded to my request. Her gated back yard is perfect for my pups. She sent me pics and videos of the two pups which eased my anxiety of leaving them with someone else. Highly recommend Ginia with your animals. Clearly she loves animals. She even has chickens and quail. She even shared her quail eggs with me. Thank you Ginia for taking good care of my fur babies.”

“Jenny has been an amazing dogsitter for us. We have started using her every time we go out of town. Our 3 dogs have very different personalities. One is old, one is a very large puppy, and the third doesn't love to play with other dogs. Despite their differences, she has been able to manage them seemlessly. She is caring and truly loves our dogs. She sent lots of pictures so we could se how cuddled and happy they were. I would highly recommend Jenny's services.”
“The Dude is in such great hands with Will. He is happy when he arrives, and he is happy when we pick him up, and he looks happy (and relaxed) in all the update photos Will sends. Can't ask for a better sitter for The Dude when we travel.”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life, so becoming a dog and cat sitter was a given. From senior snoozers to zoomy puppies, from ‘don’t touch me’ cats to ‘please love me immediately’ cats, I’ve handled it all and loved every second. I’m currently in school at Fort Lewis. I have a few classes scattered throughout the day. My busiest day right now will be Tuesdays with back to back classes from 8-2:30. If watching pets in your home, I will ask for a list of expectations (feed times, concerns) so I can do the best job. I will be diligent about updating you, sending photos, and asking questions if they arise.

About: I have experience taking care of my own cats and others since I was young. I am good with cats of all kinds and I find it incredibly important to respect their space and go at their pace. I've had great success with getting shy or aggressive cats to open up and become comfortable with me. I have never taken care of a hairless cat but I would love to meet one and learn the unique aspects of their care as well.
“Trista stayed with my young, sociable cat on short notice for 5 nights. She was communicative and responsive. Trista took care of my space and left it just as she found it -- including washing the sheets on the bed. I came home to a happy and well-cared for kitty. I wholeheartedly recommend Trista as a pet sitter. Thanks Trista!”

“We had to make a last minute booking and I’m so glad we found Mariah. She was great with our three kitties. She followed all our instructions and sent updates and pictures twice a day every day. We’d happily book her again.”

“Aspen did an amazing job of caring for my pup while i was playing in Durango. She kept me up to date on how she was doing, and played her favorite thing…the garden hose. Thanks, Aspen!”

About: I’ve been a pet owner for nearly 30 years — from growing up with our family’s Border Collies and house cats, to raising my own Jack Russells throughout adulthood, to caring for two rescue kittens in college. I’m equally comfortable with dogs and cats of all personalities and needs. What sets me apart is the range of care I’ve provided. I’ve raised a Jack Russell puppy from the wild, zoomie-filled stage into a well-behaved, confident adult, so I’m patient, consistent, and great with puppies who need structure and gentle training. I’ve also cared for a 17-year-old senior dog during his end-of-life stage, which taught me how to support pets who need slower routines, medication, and close, intuitive attention. I fostered an entire litter of puppies and their mom from an overcrowded shelter, so I’m familiar with round-the-clock care, monitoring, and meeting shy or sensitive animals where they are. Between that and my own lifelong pet experience, I’ve worked with animals at every life stage and energy level. I’m single with plenty of free time, which means your pets get steady attention, affection, and a calm, reliable presence while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because of the flexibility I have in my career. I’m a real estate agent with a team beneath me, which means I create my own schedule and have other agents I can rely on if I’m ever occupied. That gives me plenty of space in my days for walks, check-ins, playtime, and consistent attention. I’ve actually considered getting another dog over the last couple of years, but I haven’t felt ready for the full-time commitment again. A friend suggested I join Rover as a way to support other pet owners in the community while still getting to pour my love, energy, and care into animals — and it’s the perfect fit. Your pets get someone who’s genuinely excited to spend time with them and has the availability to be fully present. I’m very affectionate and hands-on with the pets I care for — they get plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship. I genuinely love walking, so having a dog join me on my daily walks is the best part of my routine. Whether it’s a neighborhood stroll, a peaceful loop along the River Trail, or a fun outing to the Smelter dog park, I make sure pets get the activity and stimulation they need. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their routines closely so everything feels familiar and comforting. I’m attentive to feeding schedules, potty breaks, behavior changes, and whatever little rituals make each pet feel at ease. My goal is always to create a safe, loving, and engaging experience — whether they’re with me for a few hours or a few days.
“Virginia had the perfect place for dogs! Her and her husband also helped us when our jeep decided to break in their driveway. We didn’t get to go on our train ride but we broke down in the perfect place since we had their help. The dogs loved playing with a couple new friends there so got their playtime in while we took care of the jeep. We will be back”

“Ansley is the sweetest and best! She send me several photos throughout the day and I could tell Simba was having a blast and made new friends. I would definitely recommend and will use Ansley’s care again in the future. :)”

“Allena took great care of my poodles while they stayed at her place for 8 hours. They came home happy and relaxed. She even made a treat to-go bag with Mila and Prince’s picture on it—highly recommend!”

“We were so happy to have found Jenny. My dog Freya and her pup Luna had a blast playing, napping and hanging out at Jenny's place. Jenny was responsive, communicative, and accommodating. Freya can't wait for her next doggie daycare or overnight! We highly recommend Jenny (and Luna) :-)”

“I have used Rover in several states and in many cities. My 5 years of Rover experience includes doggy daycare and boarding in the sitter's home. This daycare outing with Lori was an exemplary experience. First, the setting is ideal for my dog, safe but free to roam a sizable and appropriate space, outdoors and indoors, with her other dogs, and Lori is the consummate dog lover and handler. Her warm, calm and kind nature along with her qualified experience immediately establishes trust and confidence in her caring for my dog. She is a caring human being towards people as well, never making me feel like I was bothering her with my questions or conversation; she never rushed me. Honestly I will look for opportunities for my dog to have daycare with Lori and her dogs because it is so good for my dog to have fun, be able to socialize with other dogs in another environment, and be looked after by people other than me or my husband. We are relatively new to this town and are so grateful to have found Lori.”

“Kerrin was great and I highly recommend her. She was very flexible and responsive to Archie's needs and sent me pictures. Archie can be barky at a new place at first and Kerrin was very understanding. I could tell Archie had a great time as he just slept when we got home. Thanks, Kerrin”

“Tucker was so happy to be greeted by Samantha as we entered her courtyard area! She made him feel right at home, took him for walks! Sent pictures of him ! She took great care of him! Train ran late and she Samantha was so accommodating! Thanks for taking such good care of him!”

About: Since childhood, I’ve always felt most at home among nonhuman animals, and I’ll never understand humans who treat animals as less deserving of love, respect, and care. My animals are my family, and I promise to care for your animals as if they were my own. I have experience with cats and dogs of all temperaments. One of my dogs has a history of reactivity and aggression towards other dogs. I feel very comfortable managing this type of behavior using treats, ecollar, muzzle, prevention techniques, and communication with other dog-owners. I’m also experienced managing groups of dogs off leash and will work with your dog to reinforce good recall and safety behaviors (such as stopping at intersections, waiting before they go out of sight, sitting for cars, passing other dogs, etc.). I am a writer who works from home. I am available for daycare, afternoon walks & drop-ins, and select boarding for dogs who get along well with my two dogs and are good with cats. If your dog is trained off-leash, has solid recall, and is either good with other dogs or muzzle trained, I offer pack hikes and walks. I have a large fenced yard with a dog door that goes into the main living areas. My two dogs & 4 cats are onsite. Your dog must be good with cats and other dogs or be muzzle-trained to attend daycare or boarding at my home. Your dogs will get a walk or adventure during daycare (unless you prefer them not to, in which case they must be able to stay home alone for 1-2 hours either kenneled or loose without becoming destructive). To attend off-leash pack walks/hikes, your dogs must demonstrate reliable recall even when triggers are present (such as an other dogs, wildlife, cats, cars, etc.). Your dog must also have no history of aggression towards other dogs or people OR be muzzle-trained.

About: I have been working with animals since I was a child! I grew up on a farm with horses and our trusty yellow Labradors, learning from an early age the true meaning of taking care of others. I love providing dogs the happiest experience - I find such joy when playing, running, skiing, or hiking with dogs and seeing the BIG smile on their faces! Any pups that stay with me, my husband, and our goofy dog, Miles, will have a fantastic time, as well as guaranteed adventure (as appropriate!). When your pup stays with us, he/she will never be left alone and will be treated as one of our own. Having fur-babies of our own, I understand the importance of knowing that your pup is well taken care of according to his/her needs. We hope to see you soon! I work full-time from home with a flexible schedule. Considering this, your pup will never be left alone and enjoy our company (and snuggles) 24/7. I have a flexible schedule and will update my calendar weekly as needed regarding my availability. Our home is located in Rafter J on three acres, ~10 minutes from downtown Durango. We have one dog named Miles, a seven-year-old Weimaraner who has a goober personality and LOVES to play with other dogs.
“Our dogs seemed to like Jackson right away. He was very accommodating and willing to meet us at a convenient location. The dogs were just fine and happy when we picked them up.”

“Mariah took my girl to one of our favorite walking spots around town. I appreciated that she asked for water and a bowl given the nights are still warm. Appreciate the mindfulness around appropriate times to get a pup out in the summer.”

I teach preschool in town so I would love to be able to spend quality time with your pets in the mornings before work and in the evenings and weekends after work. I would prefer to be at a client’s home. I live far out of town so it would be more convenient for me to follow the instructions of the client.

When dog sitting I make sure they’re taken out as many times as needed to get exercise and go to the restroom!

“I was visiting Pagosa Springs and was in desperate need of last minute dog walking, as I was heading to Durango for the day with family. It’s apparent that Cat really loves animals and I appreciated the photos she sent letting my know my pups were in great hands. When the narrow gauge train we were riding broke down in Silverton leaving us stranded for a few hours, Cat swung by again for a second walk after she got off work . Talk about dedication! I highly recommend Cat for any of your pet walking, sitting needs and will gladly use her service again the next time visiting Pagosa Springs.”

About: Hi, I’m Lisa. I provide gentle, reliable pet care for cats and dogs, keeping their routines as normal as possible while you’re away. I’m certified in pet CPR and take care instructions seriously, with a strong focus on safety and consistency. My dog is 17 years young, so I especially enjoy working with pets who are older, shy, anxious, or used to a quiet home. I believe routines help pets feel secure, so I follow schedules closely, keep walks consistent, and watch for any behavioral changes. I offer house sitting, drop-in visits, and dog walking. I’m available seven days a week and organize my schedule around pets’ routines. I’m present for morning care, afternoon walks or check-ins, evening care, and overnight stays when booked. I do have two predictable personal commitments each day (late morning and early evening), and I plan pet care around those times so routines remain consistent. Walk times can be adjusted as needed, especially during hotter parts of the day. I treat clients’ homes with respect and care. I keep doors and gates secure, double-check leashes during walks, and never take risks with unfamiliar dogs. I’m happy to provide regular updates with notes and photos so you can feel confident while you’re away.

On top of that, my trip ended up getting extended two extra days and Darek was so helpful and communicative during the whole process, it took a huge weight off of my shoulders as a pet parent! Definitely recommend him as a sitter and will be using him again!!”
