About: Born and raised living in an animal house! Between the 3-4 dogs at a time, 2 cats (+the ones we took care of outside), and the 50+ rabbits we had, oh and lets not forget the pet oppossom we rescued, I'd say I know a thing or two about taking care of animals! I have helped out many of my friends by taking care of the pets and I currently dog sit for a lady right by my house. I am comfortable with all breeds of dogs and happy to help if you have more than one animal! I currently work full time at a little coffee shop in town. Normally working tuesday-saturday. The last 10 years I raised a German Shepherd from 8 weeks that sadly passed away last summer. Needless to say I miss being covered in dog hair. “We have been traveling for a week and changing plans due to the lack of snow so we made a very last minute request and Emma was super flexible and communicative. She took great care of Minnie! Minnie can be anxious when away from home but was much calmer than usual when we picked her up. When Minnie needed space from Emma’s playful dogs, Emma gave Minnie her own space in the house. We got updates and photos during the day too. We highly recommend Emma and would use her again if we’re traveling in this area again.”

I love to reward them with high quality treats and natural peanut butter. I grew up taking care of all types of animals. I had chinchillas, rabbits, dogs, hamsters, fish etc.. I have been training dogs for 28 years and have watched and read a lot of dog training videos and books. Lennon was a very diificult dog to train because she's incredibly smart, independent and not very food motivated. I understand how to deal with all types of personalities/ quirks and needs from my wide range of dogs I have cared for. I have watched 14 year old standard poodles with a lot of anxiety and medical issues, to a shy mini poodle or a collie that wants to chase Lennon all day every day. Also my dog Lennon has severe allergies and very sensitive skin etc. so she takes medicine daily and I give her probiotics and am always watching to make sure she's not having a bad reaction. She has gone into anaphylaxis twice and luckily I knew the signs and was able to get her to the vet just in time to save her life. I take dog care very seriously because of this, if I notice any change in behavior or red eyes etc. I will notify you immediately and see what the course of action should be. I value giving pet owners peace of mind because I know what it is like to be worried about your animal while traveling and theres no worse feeling. I love to send lots of pictures and videos so you never have to wonder how your pup is doing. I watched dogs on Rover for 2 years before in Georgia when I was married and unfortunately it was all booked under my ex's profile so you can't see all my reviews. I take my Aussie-doodle Lennon for daily walks and have multiple playtime sessions daily with fetch balls, plush toys, doing tricks, playing tug a war etc. I also have a big comfy couch downstairs I love to snuggle with my pup on. When the weather is nice I love to go on dog friendly hikes during (between 1-4 miles) nothing too crazy especially if it is hot outside. If your dog is snuggly, I offer snuggles. If they are play oriented I offer tons of play and my pup Lennon LOVES to play and chill (she's very insanely emotionally intelligent). She knows when to play and when to relax - which I love about her. I will always take dogs for walks (weather permitting) and take them out to potty every 3-4 hours minimum.

About: I've lived most of my life with dogs and cats in addition to sundry other animals from tortoises to tarantulas. I am particularly fond of all dogs which is why my wife and I have fostered nearly a dozen rescue and foster dogs/puppies over the last 8 years. Along with raising two high energy Australian shepherds from puppies, I have had plenty of experience handling medium to large size dogs that can be reactive or fearful under certain situations or are simply a handful. Having worked with a lot of dogs I know they all have their own unique personalities and challenges and understand the importance of flexibly adjusting care strategies. I work from home ~2 days per week and when house sitting will remain with your pet during the day. I generally do long walks in the mornings before work and after. Dog walks or short visits during the day can be arranged as long as they are done so well in advance. I have two relatively high energy dogs who need a lot of attention. Generally, I take them to an open fenced in space in the mornings to play fetch then go for a walk. We then go for a shorter walk in the evenings. We have a small fenced garden that we let them out in to do their business when they need to 2-3 times per day. As our dogs have gotten older and more mellow/better behaved we've relaxed a number of rules such going on furniture or sleeping in our room at night.
