“Scooter, my 3 year old boy dog had the best experience with Andrea, Henry and their whole family. Andrea was a great communicator before and during the stay. Henry took Scooter on so many walks and gave him endless snuggles. Thank you both, Scooter misses you and the chipmunks!”

“My dog and I both loved Kathy. I was a little nervous, leaving him because I rarely board him, but I felt so comfortable after leaving him with Kathy. She sent me photos throughout the day each day with updates. My dog had fun and felt comfortable there and I will definitely use her again.”

“Melissa is the best! Great communication and very dog friendly environment. This was my first time ever leaving Gus overnight & she went above and beyond to make sure he felt right at home. He and Cody were instant BFFs & it’s great to know he has someone who makes him feel so safe and comfortable when I am not able to be with him.”

About: Hello, I am a local who lives full time in Tahoe City. I've been a pet owner with both dogs and cats for the last 30+years. I am a mother of two grown children that are now off away at school. I work at the local elementary school with young children of special needs. I am a fun, caring and loving person who loves both animals and humans. I don't have any pets living with me so your pet would be the only one I would be caring for. I am free to take care of your pet most days, nights and some weekends. I work from home during the summer months so my schedule is always flexible. I currently live in a condo down the street from Lake Tahoe. There are numerous parks at the lake as well as many hiking trails to walk your dog at that are close by my place. I will always walk your dogs on a leash unless otherwise informed by owner to let run free in the woods and trails. I am very safe and responsible.
“Amazing sitter! Tasha was so welcoming and thought of every detail when taking care of our dog. He had the biggest smile and really loved playing with her other dogs . Would rebook again!”

About: Hi there! I’m Barr, a wife and mother with a lifelong love for animals. We have a sweet 15-year-old Jack Russell named Indie, and I honestly can’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t have a pet. Animals have always been a huge part of our family, and our compassion for them is one of the reasons we chose a vegan lifestyle. I also worked as a veterinary assistant for two years, where I gained hands-on experience caring for pets and supporting their health and well-being. As a mom, I’m now looking to earn a little extra income while doing something that truly matters to me—spending time with and caring for animals. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I will treat your pets with the same love, patience, and attention that I give my own. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! I’m a stay-at-home mom, so my schedule is incredibly flexible. This is one of the reasons why I wanted to start doing this and would be perfect for any spontaneous short or long trips! I have a spacious backyard, but unfortunately, it’s not fenced. To keep our dog, Indie, who is incredibly friendly with all animals, safe, I usually take them for three walks each day. We shower her with cuddles and treats from my husband, our baby girl and I each and every day ☺️

About: I'm Rachel, a writer with a flexible schedule and a love of all things canine. I live with my husband, and my chocolate Labrador retriever, Ellie, in our West Shore cabin near Homewood. I signed up for Rover because dog sitting helps me get my fix for having a doggy harem. I would love to shower your dog with attention and affection. I volunteer at the local humane society, so I'm very adept at adapting to your dog's needs. I particularly love active dogs, and I'm happy to take your pup on hikes and swims in the lake. I'm also happy to hang out and have a more relaxing day with older, less active pups. Ellie (13) is very well-socialized, and she gets along well with dogs of all sizes. I work from home with a very flexible schedule, so I’m always happy to go out for a walk or a hike. Ellie, my 13-year-old Lab, is always up for meeting a new dog friend. Daycare Rates & Information: Daycare is up to 8 hours of care. Anything longer than that time, please book a boarding stay. Drop-offs anytime after 8 a.m. Pickups before 8 p.m. Although there is a nice buffer of woods near my house, the yard is not fenced (hopefully soon). I’ll be sure to keep your pup on a leash just in case! There’s an enclosed deck for sunbathing and watching chipmunks.
“Alexis's place is in a secluded and safe place with huge lawn and play area for dogs. She is extremely patient and kind with older dogs like ours and has shown willingness to go the extra mile caring for them. Hidden gem and definitely recommendable.”

Perfect for high energy dogs - Troy
Prices are estimates per day for 1 dog. Pricing may vary based on your search and includes a booking fee of 11%.
About: Ive grown up with dogs of all kinds. I have experience training and breeding ranch dogs in Texas and live in a forest setting on the summit giving dogs the opportunity to run free safely. Im currently working part time and am consistently home during the week and holidays. I have a very active dog of my own who gets multiple walks and play time all day. I live in an apartment surrounded by a large wooded area with no ticks or excessive bugs. We are close to highway 80 for ease of travel and have river access in the yard and a private neighborhood for safe walks.
About: I’ve owned and cared for anywhere from 2-5 dogs and 2 cats at a time my entire life, most of which have been rescues of all ages, sizes, and behaviors. Additionally, I’ve volunteered at the local Humane Society with dogs and cats for around 8 years and have dog and cat watched for family and friends countless times. I’m comfortable with administering oral medication, using feline inhalers, and caring for animals from puppies and kittens to senior dogs. I am generally available every day from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, but can start earlier or end later as needed. On Mondays I am only available until 3:00 PM. Animals love me and I love them- be it hiking and exploring a lake, throwing sticks in the yard, frolicking in the snow, taking a short stroll, chasing a feather on a stick, or just kicking our feet up for a chill day. I have 3 friendly dogs and 2 cats at my home (one laid back, one spunky 1.5 year old) and a large, unfenced area in the woods where dogs can be leash walked or free roam. There are 4 litter boxes and 2 cat trees throughout the spacious multi-floor house. My own dogs are outside playing the majority of the day with water bowls and a bowl puppy pool outside or cooling down inside.
“Kathy was wonderful from the start and I wouldn't hesitate to have our dog Samson stay with her again. She is very communicative and has a wonderful, calming vibe that I can imagine is great for the dogs. Samson spent the day playing with her sweet dog, Gypsy, and we loved getting photos throughout the day of them together. We were in town for a wedding and there were no problems picking him up late, that's so rare and much appreciated. Only wish we lived here so Samson could hang with Kathy and Gypsy more often!”

“Tasha did an amazing job with Pico! Pico has anxiety and Tasha took extra special care of her. We met with Tasha for a meet and greet and she asked all the right questions. I felt completely comfortable leaving Pico with her. When I picked Pico up I could tell she had been well exercised. I high recomend and I would use Tasha again in the future.”

“Thank you Rachel for the great communication! Both drop off and pick up went super smooth. Our dog, Leila, looked like she had a great time with you! Thank you for sending those sweet pictures of walks and fun play time with your doggie, Ellie. We will definitely request to have Leila stay with you again. :)”

About: Hello! I'm a highly experienced and dedicated dog sitter with a lifelong passion for animals. What sets me apart from other dog sitters is my commitment to providing personalized, high-quality care for each and every dog in my charge. I have many years of experience working with dogs of all ages, breeds, and temperaments, and I have a deep understanding of their unique needs and behaviors. I am trained in positive reinforcement methods and force-free handling, which allows me to build strong, trusting relationships with the dogs in my care. In addition to my general dog sitting skills, I have specialized expertise in several areas. For example, I have extensive experience working with senior dogs and am skilled in providing the extra care and attention they require. I am also knowledgeable about common senior dog health issues and can administer medications and monitor their health as needed. Another area of expertise is dog training. I am certified in basic obedience and have worked with many dogs to help them learn basic commands, improve their manners, and increase their confidence. I use positive reinforcement methods to train dogs, which means that I reward them for good behavior rather than punishing them for bad behavior. This approach is not only more effective, but it is also less stressful for the dog and builds a stronger bond between the dog and the owner. Overall, I am a highly skilled and dedicated dog sitter who is committed to providing the best possible care for your furry friend. Whether you have a young, energetic puppy or a senior dog with special needs, I have the experience, knowledge, and compassion to ensure that they are happy, healthy, and well-cared for while you are away. I am an independent business consultant so work my own days and hours. It allows me all the time to take care of your dog while you are gone. Proper pet care involves providing a safe and comfortable environment, nutritious food and fresh water, regular exercise, and routine veterinary check-ups. At home, this means keeping pets away from harmful substances, ensuring they have a cozy place to sleep, and spending quality time with them. When caring for pets in client's homes, I follow their specific instructions while ensuring basic needs are met. I also observe and report any changes in the pet's behavior or health to the owner. Overall, responsible pet care fosters a strong bond between the pet and caregiver, promoting the pet's well-being and happiness.
“Our 2 yo aussie-doodle Coro loved his four days with Nayla, going on hikes in the snow and playing with the other doggies. The moment they met, Coro walked off with Nayla and forgot about us!!! The instant connection was amazing.”

“Our dog had an amazing time! Great hikes in the area and lots of attention and care. I also enjoyed the human conversation at pickup and drop offs! We hope to be repeat customers next time we’re here.”

“Brad was fantastic! Our family went skiing for the day and dropped our pup with Brad. He took our lab on outdoor hikes and let him just run around and play with other pups. We were sent videos and got updates throughout the day. I highly recommend Brad!”

About: As a cattle dog owner, I'd like to think I have a special set of skills for crazy babies. I have always had rescues and fosters in my home. I have been fortunate to work with foster pets from the Caribbean and Mexico as well, each of these often came with health issues. I have experience with pregnant dogs and cats as well! If you are interested in having your pet stay over, know I have a very friendly dog. She has both experienced having guests and foster pets in the house as well. Tolerant and obedient. I have multiple rooms and baby gates for separation and quiet time. In general, I am a very active and outdoorsy person! So i am happy to take the pets out to the trails or the lake! I live on 10 quiet acres with a fenced yard. There is ample space to play outside or be kept safe and warm inside. I work from home 90% of the days so I can provide full time oversight and care. I also work a job where I can take the dogs with me if you approve! I am fortunate to work from home. I have the ability to provide care all day and night for your pet! I walk each morning and evening and have the option to take your pet out for a walk or a play on the property in both fenced and unfenced areas. I have an older dog who is very arthritic so I am used to caring for the elderly animals as well. Pets in my home have their own room if needed. I have plenty of space for crates. I have a large gated deck and live on 10 acres on a quiet road. My own pets walk daily with me along my road which works well for easy elder dog walks as it is shady even in the summer. It also can provide great training ground as there is little traffic. For the high energy babies, we can play fetch or take to the trails nearby. I have always had rescue pitties so I am comfortable with big cuddly babies. I adopted a cattle dog pup who had clinical anxiety which has taught me how to care for highly intelligent, high energy dogs as well. Treats, love, and confidence makes for a happy dog!
About: Dogs have been a central part of my life for more than 10 years. I’m the owner of Furbal Remedies and have years of experience supporting dogs with anxiety, allergies, digestive sensitivities, mobility concerns, special diets, supplements, and medications. I understand how important consistency and attention to detail are, especially for pets with unique needs. My goal is always to help your pet feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for while you’re away. I work part-time and have a flexible schedule, allowing me to provide dependable care throughout the week. Whether your pet needs a daily walk, a midday check-in, vacation care, or extra attention while you’re away, I’ll do my best to accommodate your routine. I believe consistency helps pets feel secure, so I strive to keep their schedule as close to normal as possible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, feeding schedule, medications, and any special instructions so they receive the same thoughtful care they’re used to at home. I’ll always treat your home with respect, provide regular updates and photos, and make sure you have peace of mind while you’re away. For first-time clients, I prefer a quick Meet & Greet with you and your dog before their first booking whenever scheduling allows. It gives us a chance to meet, go over their routine, and make sure everyone feels comfortable before their first visit.
“Malea was great! Great communication, flexible with my schedule and the need for pick up and drop off. She took my Aussie (high energy dog) on many adventures and when they came back my pupper was tired from exerting her energy and happy! 100% would book again.”

“I recently had the pleasure of using Melissa to care for my dog, Mocha, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Melissa genuinely cares about the dogs she looks after. And when she says, “you don’t need a dog bed”, you really don’t! Lol Mocha looked so comfortable and relaxed in her home, which immediately put me at ease. Melissa was incredibly accommodating, addressing all of Mocha's needs and keeping me updated throughout the stay. It's such a relief to know I have a reliable and caring person to leave Mocha with when I'm away. Highly recommend Melissa's services!”

I treat every home I enter with the utmost respect, leaving things just as I found them

About: I have extensive hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. I run a 501(c)(3) dog rescue, regularly transport dogs, care for puppies, seniors, and special-needs dogs, administer medications, work on basic training, leash manners, and provide structured, loving care tailored to each pet’s needs. Pet care fits seamlessly into my schedule because animals are already a central part of my daily life. I work from home and plan my days around feeding schedules, walks, medications, enrichment, and individualized care. This flexibility allows me to be reliable, responsive, and fully present for each pet. I have 2 600+ feet plus areas for dogs to run and play. We have a building for them to sleep cozy, clean and safe.

About: Hello! I’m a lifelong dog lover and artist currently spending some time in the beautiful Reno/Tahoe area for art research and inspiration. My heart belongs to animals. My beloved Yorkie was my sidekick for 15 wonderful years, and we spent countless days exploring the outdoors together. Because I’m currently traveling and focusing on my art, I have a flexible schedule and a lot of love to give to your fur babies while I'm in town! I treat every pet like family. Whether your dog loves high-energy outdoor adventures, a relaxing stroll, or just quiet cuddle time while I sketch, I happily match their energy and routine. 📸 Stay Connected: You can expect regular updates, photos, and videos so you always know your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for. My Skills & Services 🐕 Dog Walking & Outdoor Play: Ready to explore local trails or just stroll around the block. 💖 Endless Love & Attention: Lots of snuggles, positive reinforcement, and companionship. 🍲 Feeding & Meal Prep: Experienced with specific dietary instructions and schedules. 💊 Medication Support: Comfortable maintaining moderate medication schedules. 🐈 Cat Friendly: Meow spoken here, too! I're happy to hang out with your feline friends. Your pet will always be treated with the utmost kindness, patience, and the same deep love I gave my own dog for 15 years. I can't wait to meet them! I am a self-employed artist and director of a small nonprofit, which gives me an incredibly flexible schedule and plenty of time to dedicate to pet care. Much of my work involves painting landscapes—capturing the beautiful mountains, lakes, and high-desert light of the Reno/Tahoe area. Because my art keeps me outdoors, I am always ready to take dogs along for fresh-air strolls, sniffing adventures, and outdoor playtime. When I am working from my laptop or sketching, pets in my care receive relaxed companionship, lots of attention, and plenty of snuggles. My flexible routine allows me to easily accommodate weekday or weekend care, house sitting, and extended stays. Your pet will seamlessly become a part of my creative, peaceful day! Since I am currently in the Reno/Tahoe area for art research, I'll mainly be focusing on House Sitting (in the client's home), Dog Walking, or Drop-In Visits rather than hosting pets at my residence (however, some exceptions can be made). Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my absolute priorities. Whether I am house-sitting in your home or visiting for walks, I treat your home with the utmost respect and your pet like family. Safety Outdoors: Because the Reno/Tahoe area has beautiful wildlife (like deer, coyotes, and bears), I keep all dogs securely on-leash during our walks unless we are in a designated, securely fenced dog park and you have explicitly approved off-leash time. I am also highly mindful of the pavement temperature and hydration during warm high-desert days. A Familiar, Relaxing Atmosphere: Inside your home, I strive to keep your pet’s environment calm, positive, and consistent. I love providing relaxed companionship—whether I'm sketching nearby or enjoying quiet cuddle time. Following Their Routine: I strictly follow your pet's established routine, including precise feeding schedules, favorite walking routes, and any necessary medication tracking. If your pet uses a crate, playpen, or has specific house rules, I will mirror them exactly. You can rest easy knowing your home is secure, and your fur baby is receiving dedicated, loving, and highly attentive care while you're away!
About: I have taken care of dogs, pretty much my whole life, and have experience with all sorts of dogs. From golden retrievers to dobermans, pit bulls, chihuahuas, and German shepherds, I have experience with all kinds of temperaments and dogs and am able to handle and care for all of them in the ways they need. I volunteer at the Nevada Humane Society and have completed a Fear Free Certification. I have trained all of the dogs I have taken care of and am very dedicated to making sure that they are well taken care of. When they are your best friend, they deserve the best. I will make sure that your dog gets plenty of love and care, and will be played with, and walked around to give them the socialization and exercise they need and want. I currently work full time, but have weekends off, and can sometimes do evenings, and love to spend my free time with pets. I fit pet care into my weekly routine by caring for a german shepherd weekly. I provide care for the pets by taking them on walks, and following any other normal care that the pet would typically require. I have 2 five year old german shepherds, as well as a 13 year old cat, so I am well equipped in dealing with multiple pets as well.
About: Been a proud owner of goats, cats, chickens, reptiles and dogs. I've had experience in the veterinary field, worked with and cared for livestock and house pets. I am currently working as a veterinary assistant in PV. My schedule is Monday through Thursday from 8:30/9:00am to 5pm. If your pet is able to be left home while I work then perfect! Otherwise I am fully available for long weekends. :) In my own home I have reptiles and three cats and one older dog around. If your pet is staying with me or I’m keeping them company in your own home, I always am engaging with the pet. Any opportunity to play and have some fun, we’re doing it! If they’re more laid back and want to snooze next to me, I will relax with them.
About: Hi, I’m Annette! I’m a reliable, attentive dog sitter based in Incline Village with a flexible schedule and a calm, grounded approach to care. My goal is to ensure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and well-attended to, whether through neighborhood walks, quality time at home, or overnight companionship. I focus on providing a peaceful and structured environment for the pets in my care. Because of this, I am a great fit for dogs who enjoy a relaxed pace and steady routine, though I may not be the best match for those requiring highly intensive outdoor exercise or off-leash adventure outings. Being based in Incline Village with a flexible consulting schedule means I can get to most local neighborhoods quickly for drop-ins or walks This allows me to be highly responsive to your pet’s needs, whether that’s a last-minute drop-in or staying at your home to keep your pet company during the day. Since I set my own hours, your pet’s routine becomes my priority. I believe pets are family members who deserve the same respect and care as any other resident. In a client’s home, my priority is maintaining the 'status quo' to minimize stress. I start by learning your pet’s specific cues, favorite hiding spots, and unique quirks. Whether it’s following a precise feeding ritual or ensuring the exact level of evening companionship they are used to, I treat your home and your pet with the utmost integrity. I am naturally observant and communicative, so you’ll receive regular updates and photos that capture your pet’s true comfort level.
About: With a lifelong passion for animals, I've immersed myself in their care since the age of 13. From volunteering at shelters and farms to watching over various pets, I've nurtured a deep bond with creatures of all kinds. Whether it's a cat, dog, guinea pig, bearded dragon, or any furry friend, I'm committed to their well-being. Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness will always be my priority, as I continually seek to improve my skills and connect with them on a personal level. Expect me to go above and beyond, treating your beloved pet as if they were my own. I’m currently working part time hours so my availability is flexible. I am available throughout the week and over the weekend as well. Let me know when you would need me and I can see how I can make that work for you. I have one dog and a cat at home. We have a very safe backyard that is surrounded by a fence and we make sure to watch them whenever they go outside. We make sure that when we leave the house that we’re not gone for too long so that our dog can go to the bathroom and that both our dog and cat are comfortable and emotionally secure.

“Scooter, my 3 year old boy dog had the best experience with Andrea, Henry and their whole family. Andrea was a great communicator before and during the stay. Henry took Scooter on so many walks and gave him endless snuggles. Thank you both, Scooter misses you and the chipmunks!”

About: My dog recently passed away at the age of 16, so I am just trying to get my doggy fixes in. I would love if they could join me for a run or hike. I currently work full time at an office M-F but come home for lunch for an hour. But I can guarantee a morning, lunch and evening walk (or activity) I live in an adu apartment but have a big open backyard and don’t mind pets on furniture if you don’t mind them on furniture.

“Diama and Cody have a wonderful yard and home and were very welcoming to my 11-year old dog. I felt totally comfortable leaving her with them, and I know she was well taken care of!”

About: We have taken care of animals all our lives and have a genuine love for each of them. We have experience with it all; new puppies and kittens, as well as older furry friends who may need special treatment and/or administering medication. Between the both of us, we always make it a priority to work with our pups with lots of playtime, exercise, training and socialization daily. We both are self employed and create our own schedules so we are flexible and work together to ensure our pets have an enjoyable & active day. We have a large dog-friendly fenced-in yard as well as amazing trails just outside our backdoor. Our Aussie-Border Collie mix, Penny is super friendly and submissive and gets along with everyone. She is super gentle when needed and can hold her own with larger dogs also. We have a very well socialized cat, Eleanor, who LOVES dogs and visitors.
“Nayla was amazing with Taquito! She asked a bunch of questions to make sure she knew how to best handle Taquito (on/off leash, if she liked the water, how to best feed, etc) and Taquito was immediately comfortable around her and her pup which is always a relief. She was communicative, sent us a bunch of pictures and flexible with scheduling pick up and drop off. Taquito had the best time and I highly recommend Nayla!”

“Westan is such a blessing! It’s our first time to leave our 9 months old border collie to someone we don’t know but Maui felt immediately home with him! We were able to enjoy the day without worrying knowing that he is in good hands! Thank you so much Westan. I highly recommend Westan as he not only watched our dog but did lots of activity with him and provided pictures . Definitely see you next time!! Maui misses you already!”

“Luke’s friendly and professional manner put us at ease, and we knew our dog was in good hands. Luke thoughtfully kept us updated through our dog’s stay. Luke provided substantial outdoor walking time and behavior tips that were greatly appreciated. We are booked for another stay. It is great working with a pro!”

“Yolanda was awesome!!! She provided my dog a mini vaca filled with lots of playtime and outdoor exploring! I highly recommend Yolanda’s services!! She was just what I expected! kt”

“Our sweet aussie girl LOVED her long weekend with Brad. K9 heaven being with the other dogs and getting walks out in nature with the pack. It was perfect for her. Brad sent us updates and photos and we could 100% tell she fit right in and received lots of lovies! Brad is very experienced with dogs and has a fabulous understanding of dog behavior, so we felt great leaving her in his care. Highly recommend if you need an excellent dog boarder in the Tahoe-Truckee area.”

“Melanie took great care of my dogs and dropped them off before we arrived! She was lovely to communicate with and my dogs seemed happy and healthy when we got him. Her place on the hill with the fenced in area looked lovely for the dogs. Will definitely use Melanie again!”

“Jullaney was amazing! You can tell she has a passion for animals and she took great care of Blu. She was able to pick up, and drop off, my dog at my house which was super helpful. She even sent me updates, pictures, and videos of my dog having a fun ol' time with her dogs 😊 Thanks again! 🙏🙏🙏”

About: Since high school I have had experience with normal pets to the exotic! I can honestly say that each animal is an individual that deserves their specific needs acknowledged and met. I do have experience with senior animals that need medication as well as special needs, there hasn’t been an experience that I haven’t learned from! I’ve even read books like Caesar’s Way in order to better understand my own pets and help them. I’ve even been known to be a bit of a perfectionist although that was in my earlier years now I can gladly say am a seasoned sitter! Please feel free to reach out to me before booking my care and I will answer any and all questions! Caring for your family member fits into my routine because at the moment I am a dog Mom of one dachshund with a good partner that loves her as much as I do! I also do volunteer work, which is extremely flexible. Aside from that a lot of what I do is online, which works out great when pet care is involved I will care for your family member by noting all of their needs as well as asking any questions I have about the environment if it was not already covered in our introduction. I like to take notes!
“Very nice. Took my dog out for a long hike and he got a little elk for dinner! I originally booked an early morning pickup but she accommodated us by setting up late for pick up the night before.”
