About: First things first- I’ve never been a cat owner. But due to moving a lot as a teenager, I’ve spent years in a household where my adult roommate had two cats (with very dichotomous personalities, at that). The boy was amiable, and eager for attention. The girl preferred to approach rather than be approached, and understandably feisty when someone didn’t know that. I loved those cats so much before I had to move again (about two years later), giving them food and water and cuddles alongside my mother and sister when our roommate went on longer trips. It was through living there that I especially learned to care for two pets that were of the same species, and yet so different in terms of how they received affection and respect. About: For most of my childhood, I never was allowed to have a pet, despite being so eager to have one. However, I did know many friends and families who had dogs and cats, whom I would visit frequently. I would help feed them, walk them, play with them, give them gentle petting when they were receptive, etc. As a teenager I moved around a lot with my single mother and my younger sister, so I got to live with a few different pet owners: One of my adult roommates had an old senior Shih Tzu. The sweet girl had poor vision and moved slowly, but I did my best to help my roommate and handled her dog with care everyday. Another woman I lived with had two cats; the male was affectionate and friendly, and the female was the feisty and shy one. I approached both very differently, aware of their boundaries, and formed a sweet bond with both :) Then my mother’s friend, who had a bunny! I learned a lot about how to give them healthy and fulfilling lives. Bunnies are very high maintenance, yet admittedly my favorite animal to care for. It’s why I actually ended up having a pet rabbit to spend every day with when I lived with my grandmother for years. I’m now living in a faraway town and unable to see my sweet bunny as often, but I’m most experienced in rabbit care and grooming!! All in all, I get along with most animals, and I find animals of all types just precious, even during the more lackluster aspects of having them. I understand each pet is their own individual with unique needs and I will always be attuned to that. I feed crows and pigeons (not around other animals though), I photograph insects and reptiles… yes, I just love animals and living creatures. I have plenty of money saved, but currently no income coming in because I don’t have a job. This is a way I am trying to make money to continue to save up for life expenses. As a result, I am literally free whenever, haha! I have no defined schedule whatsoever, but I do have routines and a list of hobbies I’d love to pursue in my journal. I get up early in the morning to walk around my neighborhood usually, and I do the same during sunset. The rest of the day depends; sometimes I read non-fiction, other times I head to Lake Evans, or see a live music performance at a cafè. I also dedicate some entire days to activism and fundraisers, so if I’m unavailable to care for a pet I will simply be upfront about that! I have a two story house, and it’s quite spacious! For rabbits or other animals that need an extra danger-proof house, the floors are almost completely free of things that pose any danger (such as sharp objects or accessible wires), and can be blocked off when there are visitors. The house has a mix of smooth wooden and carpeted flooring. I have three roommates, but only one is consistently staying in the house, and spends most time outside of the house. She has expressed permission to allow an animal every once in a while, she is trustworthy, and I would never leave an animal around any other human being unsupervised. The house also has a spacious backyard with high fencing and grass. The neighborhood itself is fantastic for dog walking! There’s a walkway with trees, flower bushes, small fields of grass, and it’s a hotspot for hummingbirds haha.

About: I’ve cared for others pets for almost 10 years including dogs, cats, chickens, and fish. Experienced with young and senior animals, and administering oral and optic medications. I currently have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets lots of time, attention, and consistency throughout the day. I’m available for morning, midday, and evening visits, as well as overnight care if needed. I do occasionally care for other pets, but I’m very mindful with my scheduling to make sure every animal gets the time, care, and routine they deserve. About: I have been around animals my entire life and have volunteered at an animal shelter where I socialized puppies and cats. Animals have always been very comfortable around me and vice versa. I am comfortable with all sizes of dogs and breeds. I care very deeply for animals and would love to help you ensure your dogs are getting the exercise and attention they need. I graduated college with a major in veterinary technology at TJC, and currently work as a veterinary technician. I do have a full time job at a veterinary clinic with my days and hours varying. Typically I work 5 days a week with a max of 8 hours a day. Due to this I am unable to be with your pet at all times but would love to spend my free time with them! I make sure to stay in close proximity to the animal and keep a close eye on them while playing with toys to prevent any injury. I am very knowledge on what kinds of things are toxic to both cats and dogs and am able to pick up on signs of possible varying illnesses.

About: I have been training dogs since I was a little girl, teaching our family pet new tricks. I've since trained 4 puppies into good citizens and co-trained 2 large breed dogs, one of whom is a reactive rescue. I am very confident with dogs and know how to work through difficulties. Since I have one reactive dog in my home, I am cautious and take safety very seriously. I have professional experience caring for dogs and cats in a kennel environment. I worked at a veterinary clinic as an assistant and kennel attendant for 3 years. I am CPR and first aid certified. I also have extensive experience with horses which keeps my first aid skills sharp! The only commitment I have is barn cleaning Monday-Wednesday for 3 hours each day. At my home, I have 2 separate yards and multiple kennels available if needed. My own dogs sleep and take breaks from the elements in their kennels, but are otherwise outside barking at squirrels! Depending on your dogs temperament and play style, they can either take turns with my dogs in one of the yards or rough house along with them. While my dogs are large, they have proven themselves to know their own strength. They played very well with a Chihuahua we were fostering for a few weeks.

Please bring crate(s)/carrier(s) if able to ! If you don’t have a crate/cat carrier please let me know so I can see if I have one that your pet will fit in. Crates/carriers are only used at night if needed (not potty trained). Or your pet is having some anxiety.
