About: I’ve had dogs as pets since I was a baby. I have two chihuahuas that are 10 and 11 years old. I’ve had them since they were 8 weeks old and they are my babies. About: Always had dogs. Lost my rescue dog at 19 years. Sit/board a separation anxiety prone dog. Worked at a small animal hospital for 3 years. I am retired, so very flexible with most hours and days. I am open to overnight stays with a cat friendly dog. And I like having a dog sleep with me. Large fenced back yard. I enjoy walking dogs; no dogs running loose in my neighborhood. Very careful if I go out the front door. Have two indoor cats but they ignore the dog that occasionally boards with me.

I do not leave my dogs unattended outside and I would not leave your dog alone outside either. I am very cautious with my dogs and I would give the same attention and cautiousness to any dogs under my watch as well. I always leash the dogs I care for when I take them outside, whether that’s to go for walks or just to go potty. I have plenty of toys and I always monitor my dogs when they play with them. I dispose of any toys that they tear into to make sure they do not ingest any parts of the toy. I have many dog beds and room inside for dogs to run and play. I do not mind animals on my furniture, I prefer them to be with me. My hallway is gated off as well, in case your dog has a special diet and needs to be fed separately. I also use this area for dogs to sleep at night if they are not crate trained. I tend to do separate feedings anyways just to be safe. My dogs are like my children and they get treated that way. I would do the same for my clients pets as well. The difference between taking your fur babies to a kennel and me is that I am home almost all day long, meaning your babies will get constant love and attention. Most kennels charge additionally for walks, one on one play time, and even group play. I spend time with my dogs (and those I care for), majority of everyday, until the late hours at night. I have two babies, my son is over a year old and my daughter is 8 months old. I do not leave them unattended with any dogs, not even my own. I do ask for you to let me know if your dogs are kid friendly. Even for dogs that are kid friendly, I am still extra cautious around children. It is better to be safe than sorry. This being said, that does not mean I will not give your fur babies the care and attention they need. I still do with my three fur babies everyday.

If determined that your dog is stable, and has a play style that meshes well with one of our personal (and stable) dogs, they may have play time with those dogs (with your permission) only. I utilize a structured, positive/neutral introduction and do not force any interactions. I also require all visitors to be crate trained. Some visiting dogs are fearful or simply do not wish to interact with other dogs, and I provide them with the opportunity to be free from such interactions. About: I have many years experience working in both a dog day care environment as well as veterinary field. Your animals will never be with anybody more safe and well equipped/ knowledgable. Im just looking for the best way to spend my time while im not working at the vet hospital. I currently work full time but am available on tuesdays and wednesdays for any type of care needed as well as in the morning before 8am or in the evenings after 7pm.
